As my headline says the price makes it 5 stars. The enclosure is as cheaply built. Almost makes it a shame that they claim this to be a USA product. The seams are not glued or screwed. The box is tacked together and then a very small amount of seam sealer is applied. The packaging is horrible. So your probably saying why give it 5 stars then. For 90 bucks you can barely buy all the materials you need to make this box. Let alone how much your time is worth. And if you know how to build a box, which I do, you can easily fix it's deficiencies. That's if your lucky enough to receive it in one piece. Like I said the packaging is horrible. It comes in a cardboard box. Nothing but the cardboard to protect it. I ordered 4 and 4 out of 4 had damage. One of the 4 was destroyed. Luckily Amazon has your back when something of this nature happens. A replacement is on the way. The other 3 had minimal damage to all the corners. Seriously All The Corners were damaged. Now to the good parts. Rug is high quality. Very loud box once you screw it together, re-glue the seems, and spend a few bucks providing extra reinforcement. Still easier than building your own box. It's tuned to 39 Hz which is a touch above what is specified. This was tested with a function generator for all four boxes and 39 Hz is the sweet spot. I would buy it again simply because of the price and the fact that with a small amount of my time I can make a decent box from it for less than a 100 bucks. ... show more

I got this box for a 15 inch SPL Gorilla Sub with a 5000 watt amp. now this box got the cops called on me for numerous times. i was even told by friends that they can hear me up the road from 5 blocks... i always say my mission is accomplished. SPL Sub maxes 6000 Watt and 4900 RMS i do have the amp tuned a hair down because of the rms. but still many times louder than any other radio you hear that is with only 2- 10 inches and 2-12 inches.... if you dont belive me then dont buy it. but im saying you get people just straight staring at you from a block away till you leave and they cant see you no more. it shakes the crap out of your chest and when you try and get out of your ride you almost cant walk straight because you feel so shaky and jittery. the box creates mid highs, and super lows and the mid point of the bass beats are super super loud. crazy killer deal man, i would so buy another one of these boxes and another 15 if i had the room in my truck! ... show more

    • Great Boomie bass, needs reinforced!
I will start off with the negative...The box was poorly sealed, with big gaps in the glue. Took a bottle of Gorilla Wood glue and sealed the hell out of the box. Now positive... Box is big! Had to force it into my trunk! But Let me tell you this box slams!!! Tuned to 35 hz, it hits 30-40hz with authority! I mean bass you can feel in your chest! Got a Soundstream Reserve RSW.152 and it slams in this box. Overall a great box for what i paid($81 out the door cost) but make sure you seal it up with wood glue when you get it or box will get beat apart by your sub. No tears in carpet like other people said, mine came in immaculate condition! Thanks for the great deal amazon, because now theyre $152.00! ... show more

    • A Box for the Ages
I'm still up in air about this box. I bought it for my d. Yes. 18 hooligan pro-competition speaker which you should see a review on and I'm not quite sure. It's tuned exactly correct for my speaker. Other than that is very well made and it barely fit in my trunk.

    • Good starting box for light/med weight 15”
Good starting blank for light to medium weight 15” subwoofers, mounted my upgraded/modded ZVXv2 with t-nut drilled inserts and it’s solid, I also reinforced mine with corner bracing and 1inch finishing nails and a bead of silicon all around, also lowered port tuning to 30hz and I really dig it, stiff, loud and low. I wouldn’t run anything over 1000wRMS without bracing it tho, and retuning is on your music tastes. ... show more

Ok, I'm not sure who this box is aimed at, but this thing is horrible. I bought this box because I was too lazy to build a box for my new driver. By the time I got around to using it, it was too late to send back or I would have. It claims 4.25net tuned to 37hz which should have been great for my RE Audio SE-X 15, but it sounded like utter garbage. I threw the specs into Bassbox and wouldn't you know, it's actually tuned closer to 40hz and the port velocity is too high around 45hz(near 20M/s) giving a very distinct sound coming out of the box. There's also tons of noise coming from the box itself due to poor craftsmanship. The actual craftsmanship of this box is a joke. I leaned on the box and it squeaked so I sat on the box and was horrified to actually feel it move, and it creaked everywhere. A properly built 3/4" mdf box should be rock solid and you shouldn't even hear a peep when sitting on it. I started examining the box and it seems they use a hard sealer at the corners of the joints, but no actual glue in the union itself. The sealer they had used was cracked in several places. From the inside of the box you could see several places where the MDF had split, meaning they don't bother to pre-drill. On a mission I broke out the saw and cut the box to pieces to see what was going on. There was ABSOLUTELY no glue of any sort on the actual joints, they screw the box together and use some cheap sealer in the corners after it's together. I ended up going to the local lumber/hardware store and bought a sheet of 3/4" MDF, some carpenters glue, and some poly sealant. They were even nice enough to cut it to my dimensions for free, only 1 piece was off by about an 1/8" and I quickly knocked that down with a hand plane. I cut out the speaker hole then used 1 5/8" drywall screws, pre-drilled and countersunk all holes, and actually GLUED every union only using the screws to keep it together while the glue dries. After a day to let the glue dry I put the sealant inside and sanded down the corners. Anyhow, I ended up with a 4.00 cubic foot net box tuned to 32hz keeping the port velocity to around 12m/s at 30hz and falling off pretty fast to about 5m/s at 50hz. The box I built for 1/3 of what the Atrend box costs, sounds better, looks better, and I had 3 people sit on it without even the faintest creak. Do yourself a favor and build your own or have someone else build one for you. ... show more
