This air assist works great but we don't use it with our Atomstack. We have multiple engravers and we use this to kind of rotate between machines when we some added air. It does a great job of keeping everything moving and cool when we do larger cuts or engravings. It is a five star machine as long as you don't mind a little noise. It is louder than I would like but the noise is a good trade off for cleaner cuts and fewer edge burns, which means less sanding after the fact. The fact that it is small and portable means that I can move freely between machines and I can use it to blow the leftover dust after sanding. This air assist does a good job at diverting the smoke away from your project to minimize burn. And will help keep your laser operating longer. This does not have its own power supply, it is made to be plugged into and atomstack laser, you can however but a plug to run direct powers Pros: *Improved cutting efficiency: there is a system, blows a stream of compressed air onto the material being engraved, and it helps remove debris, making a cleaner cutting surface and preventing discoloration from overburn *Protect lasers dust cover lens The air assist helps keep the nozzle, clear dust and debris, which will accumulates during engraving Cons: *Made for Atomstack laser engravers, if you want to connect it to any other brand of laser you need to buy an additional plug. *Take up additional space *Additional cost My thoughts: If you’re going to have a laser engraver, you must have some kind of air assist, because if not, you’ll ruin your laser in a very short amount of time. With my first and laser engraver I only got the engraver. I did not get anything of the extras and I regretted it. The air will help keep your projects clean, which saves an extra step. Size: Air Assist
The Atomstack Air Assist pump is a beefy little unit. It seems really well built for a small air pump, with rubber feet to keep noise and vibration down. It runs on 12V and is meant to plug directly into an atomstack unit, but you can power it with an external 12V power supply with no problem. The knob provides an easy adjustment of airflow volume. While I have no way to verify whether the flow is actually the specified 30L/min, it blows plenty of air to keep cuts from looking scorched and cut down on soot on the laser lens assembly. It seems a bit expensive for what it is, but adding air assist is a worthwhile upgrade for improved finish on cuts and cutting down on sanding wood after cutting. ... show more

The build quality of this pump is nice but it just doesn't move enough air for larger lasers. this is about equivalent to an aquarium bubble blower. If you have a small desktop laser this might work for you but if you have a larger machine it's a no go. No power supply included either.

good little extra to make engraving work cleaner and easier. Removes a lot of smoke and keeps a cleaner area. The price isn't cheap but isn't a ton if this is what you're already spending money on. It is a useful addition.

    • It does eliminate torching

This little accessory is pretty cool. I like the fact that it is small and I love the fact that it is pretty easy to use. Once you install the air assist, it works to help improve the flow. I make grids and use the laser to cut pretty intricate designs and there is always a ton of torch marks on my work but this air assist helps eliminate a lot of those marks that occur. I’m not sure how this little tool works but it does work. It isn’t perfect, as no tool is, but it works and I do recommend it for anyone who crafts or creates for their small business. This accessory is a little pricey but it’s a small investment and it does produce better products. I have sold more grids since I started using this accessory and I do fully believe its because there are way less scorch marks so my product looks way prettier. The improvements have already paid for this little guy. I’m happy with it and I do recommend it especially if you need this to help in professional ways. ... show more
