This is a good selection of colors. I've already used several for my latest cross stich kit that did not come with enough thread. I'm not too keen on driving 40 miles from where I live to buy a single skein of thread. However there are not very many of the darker colors such as the grays, browns, blues and greens. Pretty colors. Definitely a few doubles of some colors. Even some triples. At least they are labeled so youll be able to confirm that for yourself without much effort. Some threads were super easy to snag and snap. Also some of the pinks had a a black stain all over, haven't tried to wash it out yet but hopefully it just comes right out.. Not worth returning but disappointing ... show more

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing these and they worked out for me. A few things to note: - They do come a bit tangled. Just be careful when separating and they are fine. I only had a couple that started coming out of their skein. - I didn’t go through all the colors with a fine-tooth comb like others did, but overall it seemed like I didn’t really get any duplicates. If I did, they were few and far between. - The colors were perfect; some were vibrant and others were more muted shades which is what I wanted. I already had a ton of super brights left over from other packs that I’m probably going to ask my husband to take to his middle school students so they can make bracelets because I’ll never use them. I wanted colors that ran the gamut because I use them for embroidery so this was much better for me. - I didn’t pay any attention to the numbers on the side. I know, cardinal embroidery sin! But honestly I’m a casual embroiderer so I usually pick a color that I think looks good with the others and don’t go by numbers. I probably should pay more attention to this because it will bite me one day, but for all the projects I’ve done so far it’s been fine. I tend to do freestyle embroidery rather than follow someone’s exact pattern, though. ... show more
