Excellent and high quality pair of boots. They are heavy, but that to me is a sign of quality. They break in fairly easily, but it still may be 1-2 weeks of use. They are definitely comfortable in a 1/2 size down. They are a bit on the narrow side and the toe box area isn’t as big height wise as some other boots like Thorogoods. I hope to get these or Thorogood Moc Toes again as my next boots. ... show more

    • Nice boots
Use some mink oil (it will darken the leather somewhat, but the nice patina will come in afterward) and use your hands to bend the back of the boot until more supple. Also, take out the insole for a better fit as well as to shape the footbed to your foot. Very comfortable after these steps.

Great boots, little heavy but well made. I usually wear a size 9 but I notice with redwings I have to order a 1/2 size smaller. Love the color of these boots

Finally pony’d up the dough to get a pair of Red Wings and they didn’t disappoint! A little stiff out the box but they break in nice! Looking forward to seeing them break in over time

    • Still uncomfortable after five months of "breaking in"
These boots looked awesome when I pulled them out of the box, but then I put my foot in... Immediately I felt unnatural lumps on the lateral half of the insoles before I even took the first step. It was almost like the arches were on the wrong feet. Since the soles of these boots are extremely stiff I thought that I just needed to wear them in. After wearing them at least three times a week for five months, they have not improved at all - still extremely stiff and the insoles are still lumpy and uncomfortable. Now I'm stuck with a $250 pair of boots. If you order these and they are uncomfortable when you first put them on, send them back! DO NOT try to wear them in.
