I bought this 2-in-1 about a year ago as a lightweight tablet computer to replace my aging Surface Pro 3, and so far have been quite happy with the purchase. I like to carry around a tablet for reading email and browsing the internet, but I need a fully-powered computer for software development and photo editing on the go. This narrowed my selection to the small handful of Windows 2-in-1s. I considered a new Surface Pro, but wanted USB-C charging (and the Surface Pro X had not been announced at the time). I ended up choosing the ASUS because it was the lightest in its class and comes with fairly decent specs. Here are some examples of things I've done on this device: - Organize photos with Adobe Lightroom - Edit videos with Adobe Premiere and After Effects - Connect to my 3440x1440 widescreen display at full resolution (requires a USB-C to DisplayPort cable) - Record screencasts using OBS Studio, including real-time audio filters - Install a Linux emulator for software development - Run TableTop Simulator on Steam The only downside for me is that the device doesn't hold a charge if left unplugged for an extended period. I was looking for a lightweight laptop and have been generally happy with Asus products over the years, this model seemed to fit the bill but I was a bit wary because of all the negative reviews. Then I started to notice that most of the negative reviews were for a 14" model and it really wasn't in the same series of laptops as the 13.3" that Amazon for some reason had it grouped with. I've had it for 3 weeks now and it has been performing quite well, if I want to do a CPU intensive task the power is there although it will get warm and the fan is a bit loud, for simple things like web browsing it runs cool and fast with no real fan noise I can detect. Just for fun, I spec'd out a MacBook Pro with a comparable CPU, RAM, and hard drive and it came out to more than twice as much money and was still more than a half pound heavier. If I start to have problems I will update the review, but for now, I am quite happy with this computer. ... show more

    • Great laptop but minor heating issue and getting dirty easily

Overall experience: After 1-2 months of using this laptop, I like it!! First I was concerned about the heating issue. I don’t know if anyone had same issue, but the charging side heated up pretty hot when It’s connected with power cable(?) while setting up windows. But the heating issue got slightly better after all the updates and stuffs, now I don’t even care about it. What’s coming with laptop? I got stylus and mini doc with other basic stuffs (e.g. power cable) More Cons? The only cons for me is that it leaves fingerprint and stains so easily. The cleaning clothes(?) that came with the laptop doesn’t do great job to remove it, keeping my laptop look dirty all the time. The cam is bad quality, but I never use it anyway. Battery life is kind of short, but I don’t usually need to charge until night. Is this a good laptop? YES!!! It is so fast. Fingerprint sensor works so well! It is super light and pretty! Everything works so well. Just buy it if you have money for this. It’s less expensive than dell xps 13 with same specs ... show more

All I was looking for in a laptop. Sleek, light weight, touch screen, fast and long lasting battery, good flip. However few ports but I don't mind and the finger reader at times takes time to recognise, not sure if it's the space given for finger reading.

I got the computer a few days after I ordered it. Put on the charger. Came back a few hours later to set up the computer. As soon as I unplugged the computer it shut off. Either the battery was bad or something in the computer was bad. No matter how long it charged, it shut off immediately when unplugged. But this isn't the problem. The problem was with AMAZON. The manufacturer said it was a defect and should be returned. I tried to return it to AMAZON. I hit return/refund. I wanted a replacement so I selected that option. I printed out the return label provided by AMAZON for this product. I took it to KOHLs. I never got a replacement computer as was indicated. I spent hours on the phone with AMAZON with no good answer. Well, I just bought another computer because I never got the replacement. So I called AMAZON to cancel the replacement request. That must have worked because I never got that computer. But I also never got my refund. And a funny thing happened, I got the broken computer shipped back to me telling me in a note, that it wasn't AMAZONs problem. It was a PRIME purchase and it said sold by aMAZON. So I called AMAZON again - after 2 hours of being on and off hold, they wanted to know how it was shipped back. Since it was at home, I had to drive home to get it. They said they would call me back between 45 minutes and an hour later. They never called back. It is now the next day and they still haven't called back. I am going to have to call them for another 2 hours. Terrible AMAZON. I should have bought this computer at Best Buy. ... show more

Touchpad is not good for note taking. It has time lag when exchange ASUS pencil to finger touch and vice versa. So it is quite hard to use for student. ( I think it won’t propper to designer.) It has coil whine noise when using the low fan noise mode also. In my case, battery life is 3~4 hour in normal mode. (Using Wifi, this is not acurate. It is based on my experience) Mostly I dissapointed for touch screen because touch pad is not sensitive as I expected. I reccommend IPAD rather than this for buyer who buy this for touchpad. ... show more
