I got my Flip S 1-2 weeks ago (4K OLED Touch | i7-1165G7 | 1TB). So far, it has been as expected. This replaced a 4-year old, lower-end ASUS that I was generally happy with (ZenBook UX330UA-AH54 13.3-inch | Core i5 Processor, 8GB DDR3, 256GB SSD) but started to have battery issues and was under-powered at this point. Pros: - The screen is awesome. - Overall build quality seems good. Very stable screen when I'm using on my lap. - I like the keyboard--both the travel of the keys/feel of the keys and also the layout. My prior ASUS had the same size keyboard (but with a buffer on the sides instead of the home/pgUp/pgDn/end on the right), so I was used to it. I like the layout of having those home/pgUp/pgDn/end keys on the right. - And I like that the power button is no longer at the top right on the keyboard. (That drove me nuts on my prior ASUS.) - Touchpad. The touchpad is a massive upgrade. And I find that I use the number pad feature more than I thought I would. Complaints from other reviews (here and elsewhere) that don't bother me: - Shiny screen. This is true and means you have to raise the brightness to compensate. This impacts battery life, but that doesn't effect me much as (i) I am usually able to plug in, (ii) when I'm not, I am usually on a <4 hour flight, and (iii) I carry a massive backup battery. - Wobble when in tablet mode. I noticed this the first time I used it. I haven't noticed it since. Not a big deal. - Fingerprint magnet. True, but not as bad as others have said and I don't really care anyway. - No headphone jack. This doesn't bother me, as my Android had USB-C so all my headphones have the adapter on already. - Power button on the side. I haven't accidentally hit it yet. Sometimes I think I've pressed it and haven't, so have to press a little harder, but that seems like a feature (against accidental pressing) - Fan noise. Hasn't been a big issue, but I haven't pushed it that hard. Cons: - Would be nice to have a fingerprint reader Other: - As is often the case, I had to run a ton of Windows updates when it arrived. There was some strange behavior before, but it all went away after the updates. - Performance: TBD. I haven't done any video editing, etc. ... show more

I have been VERY happy with my new laptop. It's extremely powerful and fast, and has all of the bells and whistles of a touch screen, tablet, and flipped mode to be able to write by hand. I love how light weight it is, and it came with a sleek carrying portfolio that can fit in a big purse. It came with a stylus (that has magnets in it so it attaches to the computer, very convenient) and a plug for headphones. Sound and picture quality are excellent. The downsides: the battery life does not seem to be as long as advertised. I'd say five hours max, and that's with light use in doing research (no big games or anything like that). Another downside is only one USB port, so I needed to buy a dongle for USB plugs (they're cheap). The other downside is that the speakers are not very loud. The sound is great when I'm on my headphones, but sound is easily lost from the laptop itself. Otherwise, an excellent laptop. ... show more

This is a truly amazing piece of hardware, and I hope somebody is reading reviews looking for answers like I was. I have 3 devices with Intel 11th gen Iris XE, and its the only thing I need to play my game at 60 fps, and the only thing I need to watch 4k HDR 60 fps; HOWEVER, there is one crucial caveat to that that will save you some eyesores. You need to head immediately to the microsoft store app and pay the 99 cents for the HEVC (High Efficiency Video Codec) that Netflix and Amazon Prime use to deliver 4k content, and don't bemoan that cost, because it will save you the miner gouging prices of discrete card hardware. Now if you don't download HEVC beware that you -can- still stream from Netflix and Prime, but your video will "colour band" really bad, and because of HDCP you will NOT be able to screenshot the error to get help (all of "HEVC," "HDCP," and "colour banding" have wiki pages if you care to read further). I hope I help some of y'all. edit/add/update: the bad reviews citing the heat. yep. it will burn yer lap. solve this problem with a usb pass thru connector laptop stand/fan. easy fix. I got a really good one here for like 40 bucks? you can still easy have it on the stand on your lap and not notice extra weight (or noise) of it. ... show more

Update: This product was reviewed as part of the Asus Rate Your Gear promotion. Asus did not fulfill their end of the offer and despite conversations with support, they refuse to honor the promotion, even after submitting email evidence that my submission was approved. This is a svelte laptop which is very thin and light. The 4K OLED display is by far the most impressive feature and it produces an amazing picture. In addition, the keyboard has great feedback and travel and the trackpad is generally responsive and accurate. However, the battery life is rather poor and you'll be lucky to get 3-4 hours from it before needing to plug in. ... show more

did a lot of research on these before buying. Needed fast, portable, touchscreen, and decent battery. This one hits every need. CPU throttling (limited power to the CPU) isn't going to bother me as I don't use it for gaming, but that might be an issue for some. Boots insanely fast and responds as expected. Screen is beautiful but smudges easily - lens wipes are a thing though, so it's a non-issue. Only downsides really are the lack of USB-C on both sides, and the CPU-power limitation could be an issue for some. ... show more

I bought the laptop that is not renewed. However, it looks like it has been used and the laptop is defective: it already have spotify installed. The screen also blacks out when a plug in and unplug the charger. When it changed to tablet mode, the task bar at the right end is cut off.
