The almost impossible to obtain 3080. I marveled in awe as I pulled it out the box, this massive heavy hunk of metal. I got lucky on amazon to even get one in december, and this is thee most expensive single pc part I have ever bought. This particular model is considered, overall, probably the best $700 non overclocked model- being a tiny bit faster then the founders edition 3080, while also running cooler and quieter. Surely by now you've seen all the big league reviews, and you are desperate to obtain one if you are reading amazon reviews like this. I will say, the reviews were right. This particular model is really quiet. Inside my cooler master h500 argb case with 5900x cooled by a noctua d15, it is sick how quiet the whole build is when nothing is going on. Once it does run it's still surprisingly quiet even under full load. POWERFUL- yeah yeah... it's really powerful. I love games in 4k, it's soo visually stunning it almost feels like I can reach out and touch things. It's soo detailed that when you look up close to anything it's almost like you can see to the atomic structure of molecules. It is hard to describe to someone who has never seen 4k just how beautiful it is. Coming from my 1060gtx, I am very happy with the 3080. The clarity I have in games now is something else. but... It isn't enough power. SCOTTY WE NEED MORE POWER!!! There are some games (like ARK) that even without ray tracing- just cannot max every setting and still hit 60fps in 4k. But I am still plenty happy, and you can't do better right now unless you pay over 1500 (plus tax) for the 3090 that only gives you 15% more power. If you are not rich, the 3080 is clearly the best deal (a big jump in power over a 70) and it's clearly a massive upgrade from earlier generations (my old 1060 played at about 12-15fps at max settings in 4k). Quiet mode or performance? It has a switch on the board next to where you plug in the cables. This lets you put it in quiet mode (default) or performance mode. It's hardly any difference that I can tell in sound or fps, and that seems to follow what other reviews have shown about it. I don't know how well this gpu would overclock, but I suspect well. It certainly runs cold enough, even under full load I have trouble getting it to 65c. I don't know that the more expensive bigger 3080's really need such massive cooling solutions when the base models are already soo good at keeping it cool, but they need some excuse to charge you more don't they? AMD 6000 or NV 3000? Well clearly the nvidia cards win, not only for vastly better raytrace performance but for vastly better drivers too. My last amd card years back failed to identify some games like minecraft as a 3d app, thus only ran at like 17fps. I promptly swore off amd right then n there, YOU DO NOT MESS WITH MY MINECRAFT TIME! I also feel for having poorer drivers (through all of history) and terrible raytrace performance, the amd 6000 is just priced too close to 3xxx for what it offers, and is even more impossible to find. CONCLUSION- As if you need a conclusion or this review. It's awesome! Gaming in 4k is extremely taxing, and almost all my games stay at or near 60fps with high settings. No more blurry low detail games that chug along. I have the 2nd sight in video games now or something. Nv is basically doing charity work to charge only 700$ for such power, but I am glad to see it. I hope that next time around both AMD and NV wait to release the next gen cards until they have millions stockpiled first. It was a battle to obtain, and I am glad to say I achieved it without bots and a lot of persistence but obviously it would be best if nobody had to go through that frustrating experience. The 3080ti is supposed to be around 1000$ and 10-15% stronger. Pretty much a discount 3090. It might be worth waiting for especially if you really need more ram (workstation stuff). Otherwise for 700 bucks, the 3080 is a great deal if you can find one. My friends used to say "go outside once in a while- the graphics are better"... It's getting awefully hard to agree with that anymore with how powerful GPU's are getting. =)

I am very happy to be one of the first to purchase an RTX 3080 graphics card for my Mini-ITX PC. This card intends to replace my aging, but still incredible MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X, which served me well for the past 3 years. Prior to purchase, I have read that this card not only performs as well as the other brands’ 3080 cards, but it is also cooler (in temperature) and quieter than even the FE. So, I have put this card to the test to see if it lives up to the praises, and long story short they were right. The GPU is heavy, so unless your motherboard has a steel PCI-e slot, you need to have GPU card support bracket to avoid damaging the PCI-e slot from GPU sagging. My monitor (Dell S2719DGF) is capable of displaying contents at resolution of 2560x1440 with up to 144Hz refresh rate (155Hz with overclocking enabled) with the G-Sync Compatible feature enabled. This card is able to push most of the games’ frame rates near the monitor’s refresh rate limit, mostly at 140-145 FPS in many games I can play. CoD: MW average frame rate with GTX 1070 at max settings without RTX runs below 100 FPS at 1440p while this card pushes the performance to up to 145 FPS with RTX on at 1440p. Overwatch ran below 100 FPS with GTX 1070 at Epic settings, while the RTX 3080 improves it to the monitor’s refresh rate even at Epic settings, though it can go further than that but I have limited the frame rate below monitor’s refresh rate to avoid screen tearing. Temperature is something that I am pleased with Asus TUF RTX 3080. It didn’t go past 60c even when the usage at 99%, that with the NR200P’s glass panel. Noise level of this card is pretty good. You can’t hear the fans spinning unless you get your ears close to it and when the card’s temperature is high, though that would take a lot of graphical processing task to get it too hot. Overall, it’s a worthy upgrade to the Pascal (GTX 10 series) and below Geforce cards, even more with the 900 card. You get about 300% increase in performance from going from said cards. If you have RTX 20 series cards like 2070 Super or 2080 Super, I suggest holding with these card unless you really need future proofing your PC as RTX 3080 uses PCI-e 4.0 bandwidth (but it’s backward compatible with PCI-e 3.0 slots). TL;DW, best gaming card for value. It’s quiet, runs cooler and it can run many games at 1440p at higher fps. Negatives are that it’s heavy and it’s not available almost anywhere. Good luck to those who can get one.

So far this card runs (stock) very cool under 100% load at 63 degrees C. I'm impressed by that low temp, and the fans run at 74% during that time. I have not tried to overclock it, but I suspect that it will go a few percent up without problems. The RTX 3080 are not known to overclock much (with air cooling...). I have had zero crashes or issues so far running Drivers 456.71 It's quiet, but I had a 1080Ti for Aorus before that was also quiet. This is while inside a large tower "HAF" case from coolermaster. The warranty and components selection and testing on all Asus "TUF" products is top notch, so I expect this card to last years without problems. It also has the Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitor MCC (6 sets of them), but it's unclear if that really matters for stability. Verdict: a great no-frill 3080 card, at $699.99, so not paying any extra over the FE cards from NVidia, but having a nicer cooling solution. Amazon sent an email with the redemption codes for Watchdogs Legion and GeForce NOW membership as soon as the card was shipped. Do note that you need to install the graphic card in your PC before redeeming the codes, as the "GeForce Experience" app checks the card and its serial number to validate the codes. Amazon was great: bought on 10/02/2020, with a shipping date of 12/09/2020, then updated to a shipping date of 10/25/2020, then 10/21/2020 and delivered that way.
