  • excellent motherboard
This is a good quality board. The first board I received kept intermittently shutting off--Sometimes at startup and sometimes after booting.

  • Came out perfectly here minus a cpu fan pins
Everything turned out correctly in place minus the CPU fan pins on the board port. But, everything else on it works fine. But, only downside was the other version of the motherboard had the hdd sata cable port closer to one side spot.

  • excellent motherboard
I have worked in the computer industry for years and this motherboard is getting a bad rap. I put a intel i5-10400 processor with gskill 32gb 2666 ram asus 2060oc 12gb video card 1t intel nvme . I did a cinebench r23 bench test got a 7788 bench score. I built this machine for about 1200 dollars and Im totally impressed with the performance. Also my bench score at 1080p on heaven it ran 300 frames. It is a wonderfull motherboard and cpu and graphics card very impressed with performances. I dont even overclock the cpu. ... show more

  • tldr- R2.0 not an improvement over original. Picky with memory
I have an Asus B460m-A original which recently stopped working. I ordered this to replace it and it is a downgrade (except for the bottom 16x(4x) slot. It is very picky on memory. Corsair works every time but I only have 4gb x 2. My Hyper X 3200 ddr4 16gb x 2 was not stable and would not hold settings. The Hyper X sticks work in my test AMD 3950x and the Intel 12700k systems. The ram to replace the HyperX is more than this board. There are way better options. IF it was $59, it would be a better value. Disappointed. It worked in Windows. It worked in Linux. It worked in FreeNas (only 4 data ports onboard). Lack of second M2 slot isn't great. ... show more

  • I used to love ASUS, but.....
Over the years I've built quite a few systems using ASUS parts, so when I was ready to upgrade two of my servers they were my first choice. Sad to say, that after fighting with two of these boards over the course of a week or so, I pulled them and sent them back for a refund. Getting the drivers installed was a nightmare. Their automated utility on the CD failed to recognize that my operating system already installed on the disk(s) (Windows Server 2019) is in fact Windows 10 "everywhere it matters" for the purpose of installing drivers. I had to download individual driver files from the ASUS web site, copy them onto a USB drive, and then figure out how to bypass the ASUS install tool completely for each one and start the actual driver setup file. That worked, for everything except the network driver. For that one I had to manually download the driver from Intel and install it, but even after trying that Windows device manager still would not "find" the correct driver. I ended up having to use device manager to explicitly associate the device with a specific driver file in order to get the network card running. Having to do that meant that if I ever had to perform a Windows network reset, I would have had to do all that over again. ASUS support, although "friendly", was no help in resolving that problem. Their only suggestion was to "install it the right way" by using their "Armoury Crate" app (which you have to install using their installer - which downloads it from the network - which is pretty tough to do >when you don't have a functioning network adapter<. I did finally manage to kludge a way to get Armoury Crate installed, but it didn't work either to install the network adapter. So, I returned both motherboards for a refund - and replaced them with a pair of similar motherboards from MSI. What a different experience! Install the boards, set the BIOS options, boot into Windows, use the supplied DVD to run their utility to install the drivers (which correctly identified Win Server 2019 as Windows 10). Biff, Bam, Booey --- done in a few minutes. No muss, no fuss. ... show more
