Features

  • HIGH CAPACITY: Our heavy-duty 12 volt refrigerator boasts an ample 15L capacity and a sizeable interior of 13.8L x 9.6W x 7.1H. The refrigerator uses its power cooler to function as both a fridge and a freezer, keeping drinks, fruit, ice cream, vegetables, seafood, meat, skincare products, milk and more chilled or frozen. Its an ideal fridge for picnics, barbecues, camping, house parties, and wherever adventure takes you.
  • FAST COOLING: With its powerful compressor, the car refrigerator can cool to 32F at most in 15 minutes when empty; it takes about an hour to reach its lowest temperature of -4F (-20C). You can switch between the MAX and ECO modes for faster cooling or energy saving. (It consumes less than 1 KW.H per day in ECO mode). NOTE: The operating temperature does not exceed 131F.)
  • BATTERY SAVING MODES: Our portable freezer includes three power-saving levels: low, medium, and high. These modes reduce power consumption to the desired level, maximizing cars battery life. Once you set a level, the refrigerator will automatically re-apply the setting whenever you turn it on.
  • FUNCTIONAL DESIGN: The fridges LED display ensures easy operation and temperature checking in low-light conditions. Its USB port allows you to conveniently charge your phone. The UL-listed car cigarette lighter extension cord and AC input both have replaceable fuses that protect against overloads and short circuits.
  • AC/DC Adapters: The AstroAI 15L fridge/freezer includes both a 12V/24V DC and a 100V-240V AC adapter for seamless use whether at home or in your car. You can even use it outdoors with a portable power bank! Father Day Gifts.

  • Excellent Performance and Convenient Food Storage
My refrigerator became temperamental this summer and stopped maintaining my food properly, so I ordered a replacement pronto. Unfortunately, the pandemic continues to impede the supply chain and I am still waiting for that order as I write. The next best option was this AstroAI portable unit, thanks to Prime Day pricing and stock, and I could not be happier. I have used it continually as a refrigerator for six weeks now and it has performed above and beyond my expectations. After reading other reviews, I set the temperature on Eco mode about ten degrees below what I consider optimal, which keeps everything nice and cold but not frozen. The smaller side storage space is not nearly as cold and more like a cooler, so I only put things that cannot spoil before I use them in that area, such as smaller beverages, condiments, candy and nuts, but absolutely no dairy. The lower the overall temperature, the colder the side space gets, however, so I imagine dairy would be fine in the side area if using the larger space as a freezer. I love the ability to easily change the temperature by degree or switch between refrigeration and freezing, and the unit is quiet, efficient, responsive and simple to move with the sturdy handles. I am not as big a fan of the internal basket, though, which helps removing everything at once (for example, to mop up the water that pools on the bottom regularly) but prevents some containers from standing upright without extra effort to place them carefully. Eventually I will probably have to invest in one or more smooth-bottomed baskets for inside the outer basket to solve this problem if it keeps bugging me enough. When/if I finally receive my replacement refrigerator, I plan to use this AstroAI as a supplementary fridge or freezer, keeping it plugged in always. I have already ordered another portable fridge/freezer unit from a different brand and the AstroAI one is indisputably tons better in terms of operation and space. If it ever goes on sale again for a comparable Prime Day price, I would not hesitate to purchase a second one. ... show more

  • Works As Advertised
Size: 23 Quart (22L)
For over a year I was a slave to a stand-up RV fridge that constantly drew 75 watts and didn't keep things very cold in warmer temperatures. This cooler only uses 20 to 30 watts about half the time in 80 degree temps and it keeps everything nice and cold. It is also very quiet -- and in fact my only complaint is that it needs a small light to let you know when the compressor is running, because otherwise it is hard to tell. The ice cube tray is also a very nice touch. It would also be nice to have a freezer compartment large enough to hole a quart of Ben & Jerry's -- but I guess you can't have everything ... show more

  • Happy Little Porta-Freezer (so far…)
Size: 16 Quart (15L)
I received the 15 liter version on Wednesday, and over the past couple days I’ve been running a bunch of tests on the unit in preparation for our Big 2021 Road Trip starting next week. First, an Amazon shipping grumble: it arrived in a large Amazon box with very little packing between the outer and inner box. Looked like it bounced around a lot - but the bigger issue is the outer Amazon box had no “this side up” or “fragile” markings, and the item had seemingly spent a lot of time on its side (or worse) on the way. Fortunately, after sitting for 6 hours in the proper orientation, it started just fine. So far, I’m rather impressed. At -4 F setting and Eco setting (3.2 amps, 40 watts), it will freeze and hold ice cube trays in 4-6 hours in a hot 100 degree garage. The Max setting (4 amps, 50 watts) seems to speed things up a bit. It also seems to work well as a refrigerator - set at 35 F, it chilled a room-temperature 12-pack in 4-5 hours and then held it at 35-37 degrees overnight without freezing the contents. Again running in a hot garage comparable to a warm car. Much better than a piezo cooler (which pulls the same amps for a lot less cooling) - and comparable to a small dorm fridge (which this seems to be a smarter ruggedized version of). The low voltage cutoff seems to work correctly, but there could be added drain from the unit still trying to run intermittently at the lower voltage. I wired up a high-amp 12 volt connection tied into the ignition switch just to be safe and prevent vehicle battery drain. I may tie in a small gel cell to keep it running during brief (less than 30 minute) stops. I’m thinking it was a good idea to get the smaller 15 liter size, as it’s already too big to fit in some places in our minivan. The weight is very manageable, even with a full compartment. Our plan is to use this to continually freeze ice packs to swap into the larger ice chests, both while we’re driving and taking it into the motel room overnight. Hopefully we’ll have a lot less need to ask motel lobbies to freeze our packs or hunt for an ice machine. If the unit doesn’t get filled up with ice cream first… :) Update: the unit survived 32 days of continuous operation on our 2021 Big Road Trip. The 15 liter size is easy to bring into the motel room and plug in each night, and bring back out in the morning. I wired it in parallel with a 18 AH 12V gel cell to keep it running when we were parked during the day. This kept it running (and cold) much longer, but the battery drain meant we had to recharge the pack every night (alternator power wouldn't keep it charged). We kept 5-6 freezer packs in there and swapped them with the ones in the ice chest every 24 hours or so (if we didn't buy ice cream instead) :) Definitely worth the investment. Another update: It’s been across the US twice again, and is still running great. Another update: several more trips, including another transcontinental one - still running fine. Spring 2024 update: still running great - just went on another week-long cross-country trip. ... show more
