    • wow, this is an AMAZING set of knives
I've cooked for 50+ years and am extremely picky about equipment, but since my mom has lived with me for over 20 of those years, I knew better than to spend money on expensive knives. I do all the grocery shopping and cooking, and she cleans the kitchen! (woohoo) It's a great balance, but anything that isn't a cast iron skillet or wooden cutting board and isn't nailed down goes in the dishwasher, so it just wasn't worth it. I got good at using an SOS pads for any rust spots, sharpening and honing, and then every five years or so I'd hit Home Goods and buy a few chef's knives, serrated tomato knife and a paring knife, and that would be it. I almost fell over when after opening the package, mom said they were so gorgeous that maybe we should hand wash these? OMG! I could've brought home a Henckels and she wouldn't have said that, but somehow the pretty (ceramic?) coating made her think these were special, so whatever it takes! So I've kept a few specialty knives (serrated bread, micro-serrated bread, cleaver, grapefruit, and curved paring) but otherwise gotten rid of all the others and replaced them with these! It was even worth getting rid of the two plastic cutting boards and sticking with the two good wooden block boards. I've used them to pierce and chop hard acorn and butternut squash, cut paper thin slices of pear and apple, mince garlic cloves, etc., and just love these! And it'll seem like a little thing unless you've dealt with it yourself, but when I cut potatoes for matchstick fries, the potatoes don't stick to the knife! As for the scissors, it's great to have a dedicated pair for food so I don't have to remember what I cut last with the two pair of 35 yr old Cutco utility shears (amazing tools!) in my junk drawer and end up re-washing them anyway. I don't have a need for the sheaths, but kept them anyway for my next camping trip. Anyhoo, I *highly* recommend this set, and it would absolutely make an amazing gift for a graduate with their first apartment, esp combined with a good board, or a wedding shower with other great kitchen items. This multipurpose knife set is a bargain, including six different kitchen knives with blade guards, and the addition of kitchen shears makes it an even better deal. The stainless-steel blades, which can be sharpened, are superior to similar plastic blades that cannot be sharpened. My wife's favorite is the paring knife, and she finds the handles on all the knives comfortably fit her small hands. ... show more

 Really enjoying this knife set. Basically everything you need for cutting in the kitchen. Most sets have a colored handle and perhaps either a silver or black blade. This set has a few different pastel colors with matching colored blades. I suppose it’s possible that the colors could fade or wear off over time but have held up for several use and cleaning cycles.     • Great quality for the price, nice variety
This is a nice set of knives - ideal for those without counter space for a knife block, too. They'd be great in a second home, first apartment, RV, etc. The handles of the knives are both attractive and functional. The knives have a nice balance in your hand. They blades are sharp and the cut is nice on these. The included covers make it easy to store these safely in a drawer, which also makes them good for travel (when driving or in checked bags only, of course). I know that may seem silly but we find knives in rentals/timeshare properties sometimes are sorely lacking and these would be great to take when we know we'll be cooking. This is a complete set of everything needed including shears which are a great help in the kitchen! Take note that the "piece" count includes the covers, so it's not 13 knives, but 6 with covers plus the shears. More than adequate. At appx $30 currently, this is an amazing value, too! ... show more

I can't believe how good these knives are for the price. Six knives plus utility scissors that are really designed to fit the palm of my hand comfortably. So sharp and easy to use even the kitchen scissors are an upgrade from the ones I currently have. These scissors are sleek and have a smooth swivel that makes it easy to hold, plus they are super sharp as well. I love the soft colors and am happy each knife has the type of use printed on the blade. You'll know when you are using the Utility knife or Paring knife just by reading them. This is important because I've found that many people who don't use different knives get confused about the types of blade best designed for each cutting purpose. It really makes a difference! The price for this set is so affordable. Individually they would easily be double this price if not more for forged steel. Really a great value, I'm impressed. ... show more
