  • Replacement mobo works great
Style: X570 Pro4
My previous motherboard (Asus Prime X570-P) died on me so this motherboard was a perfect replacement at a good price. The only issue was i had to re-activate windows because it was a big hardware change from my other motherboard. Windows saw it as new PC.

Works as expected. Nice layout with connectors placement well thought out. Two minor minor nits: Rear IO plate is a little on the flimsy side and ever so slightly undersized. Since this isn't an "extreme" or one of ASRock's named motherboard lines, not surprising. Worst that can be said about it is "it's very generic but works". The spacing of the connector block for the front buttons and LEDs just a bit cramped so they abbreviated the stenciling of the markings. Not a problem if you have the manual handy, but might cause a delay if/when you are troubleshooting it later on (ie. you have to go get the manual). Neither of these warrant a star deduction. As a note for installers - make sure you mount the CPU before you put the motherboard in the case - if you are using the AMD cooler solutions you will find that the mounting plate will drop out of position when installed in a case as you go to mount the fan. So CPU on MB first, then MB+CPU goes into the case. Every other fan solution I've seen the order you do this doesn't really matter. ... show more

  • Had this MB not worked, this would be a 1-star review...
Style: X570 Steel Legend
The package arrived on time and well-packaged, externally. Once I opened the box, I was disappointed, and prepared myself for further disappointment. The original packaging had bee opened, before. When I unpacked it, I found there was NO I/O face plate, NO mounting screws, almost everything that one would expect to find in a brand new motherboard package was gone. All it contained was a manual (had been handled, before), a couple of mounts, a couple of screws, and SATA cables. The anti-static bag was wide open. Piss poor packaging. I was anticipating board failure of SOME kind, but decided to go through with the re-build, just on the off-chance that this was returned by someone too dumb or too lazy to properly utilize it. I'm glad I did... I was formerly a die-hard ASUS customer. Recently, due to a dramatic drop in both quality and customer service, I decided to go ASRock. and I'm happy with that choice. Start to finish, this was a breeze, and the new build is performing VERY well. Linux Mint (21) was installed in under 45 minutes, start to finish (including updates). None of the issues I experienced with ASUS popped up, and this is how a rebuild is SUPPOSED to go. My only complaint with this was my own oversight... no wifi/BT. It has the M.2 slot for an AIO card, and that was remedied for %30. For the price, the board is outstanding. We'll see how long this lasts but, at present, this is firing on all cylinders, and it truly ROCKS. Full reboot is under 15 seconds (gen4 nVME, Ryzen 5800X 3rd gen Proc, and128 GB Corsair RAM). I will update, should any circumstances change but, at present, I can actually recommend this board for the builder on a budget. ... show more

This replaced my ASUS 570X itx board that failed. I think it works just as well with a lower price.

  • Solid X570 Entry to round off the AM4 platform.
Style: X570S PG Riptide
I was a very early adopter of the AM4 platform, with one of the first X370 boards on the market and a R51600. That board treated me damn well since then, seeing the 3600, and a 5800X. Going from 2666Mhz, to 3600Mhz RAM, and from the now quaint GTX 1070 to an Rx 6800. Given my previous board was getting up ion age, I wanted to swap it out to take full advantage of the chipset features since then as this rig will need to last me another few years at least. The installation was the same as any other board, the Ports are logically laid out, and fit the same footprint of the last ASRock board I had. Everything booted and posted the first time. The win11 install that I would have sworn I'd need to refresh/re-install from my X370 board just accepted the upgrade (Though did invalidate my License.) The latest chipset drivers, a few random drivers for peripherals here and there and I was up and running. Shipped through Amazon, I got a board with the v 2.20 BIOS, about a year old, but didn't prevent me from booting a 5000 series CPU. Install to the latest went without issue. PBO, RAM timings/speed, and everything else seems to just work better with this system. I went from a 4.7 all core clock on air, to a 4.9 all core clock (PBO -20 to -28, max temp hovering about 85), My RAM Glady accepted XMP timings while previously I needed to do some tinkering, Once I'm done establishing a stable baseline for the CPU OC, I will start tightening the timings on the RAM, but I expect that I'll see better performance overall. Benchmarks like Cinebench r23 and 3D mark saw nice bumps, nothing earth shattering, but a nice bump overall. I'm not sure I'd recommend the path I took, but for me it was worth it. Will continue to buy ASRock products. ... show more
