Affordable motherboard but you get what you pay for. This is going to be my 4th b550m motherboard it’s a good motherboard to game on BUT it’s my 4th one because it’s impossible to troubleshoot it. For example try to troubleshoot my rgb lights for my water coolant fried the motherboard. Never had a issue troubleshooting any other motherboards till I got this one. ... show more

Although it supports 3rd generation Ryzen CPUs, it did not come loaded with bios that supports it. I tried a RYZEN 7 5700G with Vega 8 built in graphics, but since it wasn't supported with the loaded BIOS, I had a long journey to get it running. It also didn't support my athalon 200ge so I can boot without a GPU... Which sucks with prices as they currently are. I had to tear down my other PC with a RYZEN 3600 and my RX 580 GPU just so I could update BIOS. I know AMD offers a loaner CPU, but that was unexpected as it says RYZEN 3rd gen ready... Once it was updated, I was able to use the RYZEN 7 5700g as intended. Works great! Just keep in mind what you are trading off with a small form factor build. ... show more

NOTE: Comes with the 1.0.0.1 AMD AGESA update, so it supports the Ryzen 5000 series right out of the box. Great mobo for very small PCs. Low profile VRM heatsink makes this unsuitable for high-end, overclocked systems, but excellent for mid-range builds with undervolting/clocking. I personally paired this with a Ryzen 5900X and 3060 Ti in a Velka 7 case. Very solid for 1080p gaming. Does not have a second NVMe slot. Not a big problem if your build prevents you from mounting a heatsink on the back of the mobo anyway. You can swap out the WiFi and BT card; it is attached to the mobo by a screw. Only complaint is that the mobo does not come with an integrated IO shield. Fortunately, popping this one in was not too inconvenient. ... show more

This board is fantastic for the price. Easy BIOs navigation and a good overall layout made building a fairly easy process. My only real complaint is how bad the heatsink is for chipset. They run pretty hot and in a mini-itx build, there's not much air flow to go around. Overclocking on this mobo would require a replacement heatsink for any decent results. I tried to place my own ontop of the current one but the heat sink is so small and awkwardly shaped, they wouldn't fit properly. Outside of that, fantastic board and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a cheap b550 board. ... show more

    • 4 Months in the Bluetooth Module Failed

Bought this particular board because it had built in Intel Bluetooth, and Wireless AC NIC. The wifi is still functioning fortunately, but the Bluetooth card has failed in one of my units. Amazon's customer service is useless since it's been more than 30 days. The jury is still out on whether ASRock will stand behind their warranty or not.
