  • It may depend on your dog.
Size: 50-70 LBS
Bottom Line: Assuming your dog does well in a crate, grab one of these at a discounted price from Warehouse Deals and call it even. "I like it" for the price. Objectively, it's ok. If you've bought this style of kennel before you know the basics. The Aspen Pet version checks all the boxes. By and large, this will probably get the job done, but it is a step down in terms of quality and durability (and thus, price). If you've got a dog that has destroyed or escaped from their kennel in the past, you may want something more sturdy. The door works, but I have to check to make sure the pins are seated in their holes more than I've had to in the past with similar crates. I see two crucial difference between this model and the ones I prefer: (1) The plastic on the top section is noticeably thinner (which in this application does equate to weaker). While putting it together, I put my hand on the top while reaching for something on the other side. It gave and flexed easily under light pressure. (2) The bigger issue: The Pet Porter has cut-out air holes instead of metal grills on the sides. Compound that with thinner plastic and you can see where it may be an issue. If your dog is relatively chill, probably a non-issue. If your dog chews out of boredom/anger/spite/fear, this might not be the best kennel for them. For reference, the ladies in the pictures are 21-22 inches at the shoulders. They can enter, turn around, and lay down inside with plenty of room. ... show more

  • New hound puppy has chewed her way out of every crate....except this one
Size: 30-50 LBS
We adopted an eight month old hound puppy who loves to chew everything. The only solution was to crate her when unsupervised. The only problem is, she kept breaking out of the metal crate through sheer strength of will and bent the bars until the locking mechanism broke. Then she proceeded to show off her mad chewing skills by chewing up the carpet, my other dog's dog bed, the night light she ripped out of the electrical socket, the bug noise zapper she ripped out of another socket, and the plug for the air purifier she ripped out of another socket. She was working on the door frame when I came home...ONE hour later. I tried propping the door for the metal crate against the wall...came home and the crate was pushed completely away from the wall and she was out again. So I bought this crate. As soon as I got it, I was concerned because the "windows" were plastic. I was sure she would chew through those windows. But so far, months later, this crate has held her in. There are a lot of chew marks on the plastic window grate, but she has not been able to get through it. She keep popping the cover off the lock in front of the crate, but she is unable to get out and I just pop the plastic cover back on, good as new. Very happy with the new crate. Until she can be house trained, I needed a way to keep her contained. This has done the trick. Highly recommended for any destructive dogs! ... show more

  • Not a Petmate Kennel
Size: 30-50 LBS
Bought this for an international flight thinking it was a Petmate Pet Porter. This AspenPet Pet Porter does not have the rear ventilation needed for international travel. I should have looked at the listing a little closer. (Photo shows 36” Petmate kennel, 32” AspenPet, 28” Petmate)

  • Great Kennel
Size: 25-30 LBS
I really like this kennel it was super easy to put together… once assembled it is sturdy and has been perfect for our border collie pup… we bought this size for her hoping when she reaches full size we won’t have to get a bigger one… I am a little nervous I might should have got one size bigger for her, but for now it fits her so well… It isn’t super easy to transport due to the size but you can easily and quickly dissemble it making transporting it easier… I have not yet tried transporting it with my dog in it so I don’t know how transportation with a dog inside would be…. We use this for nighttime kenneling her… It is also easy to clean as you can quickly remove the bolts and nuts pull it apart and spray it out! I absolutely love the type of nuts they use with the bolts for they cwte easy to tighten and loosen with only your fingers no tools required I did however have a couple of these nuts come already stripped out but luckily they he package had extra so it was no big deal…. These do however seem like it your not careful you could strip them out very easily by over tightening… ... show more

  • Not safe!!!!
Size: 50-70 LBS
My less than 30 lb mixed breed mutt ate through the plastic and escaped on its 2nd time in this crate. Plastic is not thick. I do not see how this could be considered safe for airlines. I bought because it was recommended by Amazon. Waste of $80. Let's hope the dog did not ingest the plastic.I believe Amazon should refund my money for recommending this product!!!! ... show more

  • Made to last
Size: 50-70 LBS
Switched to this product in search of a hard-sided kennel after the wire crates proved to be no match for the escape artist kinds. Quick and easy to assemble. Only issue that we’ve had is the determined pup did manage to pop the latch springs off once but that was fixed with a zip tie to hold it back in place. For added security there are safety holes at the top and bottom of the kennel where you can reinforce it with zip-ties whether at home or while traveling. ... show more

  • holds very large dog
Size: 70-90 LBS
I got this for my son who has a 110 lb American Bull dog. He was almost a yr. old when I got him for it cause he was trashing his house when gone. Took a few weeks to get him where he could shut the door on him but did and uses it now. If he can get something in his mouth he will destroy it. The kennel is very light but sturdy and he can't get hold of anything with his teeth. If ya look at all the stuff and kids toys he has ate the kennel is well worth it ... show more

  • great crate at a great price... would recommend to anyone.
Size: 30-50 LBS
just got this a few days ago and wanted to post a review. The crate is for our new Brittany and I have to say it is working out great The crate was easy to assemble, seems plenty sturdy and best of all the dog already loves his crate! I didn't want to score it 4 stars but do wish they would make 2 simple changes to the design. 1. I wish it had a way to hold the door open. It tends to self close occasionally which is a hassle. 2. I wish it had a couple of handholds molded into the front and back of the roof. It would make carrying it a bit easier. Other than those minor things... great carrier and at a great price. BTW, the same thing at tractor supply was $20 higher. ... show more
