Great Tool in the Garage
Changing the oil in my jeep, found some metal sparkles in it and the oil filter. Panic set in on where could this be - flat tappet cam, lifters, distributor gears, or something else?? This Borescope saved me a ton of time and money. Bought this and 2 days later, was able to drop the scope down into the timing cover, cylinders and intake valley to look cam lobes. Found that it was the distributor gear eating up the cam gear without taking apart the engine! Very helpful given the cam gear isn't visible from outside the timing cover on an AMC 360. The light is bright and the angle on the camera scope can get into some tight spaces. Ability to change the brightness of the light was helpful too when getting up close to things. Camera movement takes some time to get used to - but to be expected when the camera is upside-down, hidden inside the engine. Picture is good and the autofocus works well. Controls are easy to manage. Solid, sturdy unit - and definitely good for the price, compared to the "commercial" brands. Would recommend for the price and features. ... show more

Gets to the bottom of problems

This borescope has come in handy to diagnose some plumbing issues we've had in our home. Being long with an articulating head makes moving along turns in drain pipes much easier. We had a leak in our ceiling downstairs and were able to use this tool to identify a section of the shower drain line that had a break along a coupling. Without this tool, we would have had to open the ceiling to identify the issue. While we still had to open up the ceiling to do the repair, the boroscope confirmed the problem and made us comfortable that opening up the ceiling was the right move. The picture from the scope takes some time to understand as the orientation inside pipe can change quickly. The wheel that allows the camera head to turn is a useful feature with helps keep orientation and and investigate issues more precisely. The LED lights are adjustable which is nice to keep good contrast on the section of the pipe we're looking at. Do note that with the longer cable, the unit does become pretty bulky. It comes in a nice carrying case but getting all the cable back into the case takes some time. Our next project would be using this to identify the source of a leak in our car radiator. ... show more

Fits in glow plug holes
The body is plastic, a lot of plastic. The screen mounts on a sort of plastic hot shoe, very little meat on the bones to hold it super securely. If you're careful it won't break. Articulating head works very well, it'll go beyond 180 degrees, so you can point it right up at its own tube if needed, though I wouldn't recommend that because it doesn't seem to like being asked to turn that tightly. Steering it is a little tricky at first, because the camera isn't exactly aligned with the swivel axis. Screen is decent, can be seen in daylight, good battery life, good image capture. case is sturdy, and low profile enough to fit in cheaper toolboxes that have the drawers that arent deep enough ... show more

Articulating camera is a game changer

This has been a fantastic purchase! I am usually pretty picky and have no problem returning items I am dissatisfied with. This was a keeper! The articulating camera makes this the best borescope I have ever used. The design puts all the important controls right at your thumb. The thumbwheel has a mark on it that I use make sure the head is in it's straight position so I can easily pull it back out of tight spaces. The probe cable is just right, not too long to get tangled up and long enough to reach what needs to be seen. Sharp picture. Autofocus works well and adjustable illumination helps get a good picture. Unit boots fast and has never crashed or locked up. Great battery life and holds charge when in storage. Comes with a card that makes transfer of pictures to a computer super easy. Comes in a very nice protective case to neatly store everything. Added bonus: it comes with a magnet, hook and side mirror that securely screw onto the probe tip. I don't use these often, but they are sometimes handy and I didn't have to make an extra purchase just to find out. A Premium Product
I bought this borescope because it had an articulating camera, but its so much more than that. I was surprised by its high image quality and the depth of field is very good. It has close up focus and can view a recognizable image from many inches away, even a foot in some cases. I wanted the articulating function so I could put the camera down through a sparkplug hole, and turn around and view the valves without taking off the airbox and having to go through the intake manifold. It can bend a tight 180° so it's good for that. It was a good price regularly, but now is even better on sale. It also has decent accessories including a 90° mirror, a hook and a magnet, and I won't be concerned about getting it wet. I like being able to capture still pictures and vides, and it came with a 32 GB memory card installed - its a complete package. I will note that it does not have the super close up focus of a dedicated rifle borescope, but it is much more versatile for any other application. ... show more

Good images and easy to use

Helped determine where the squirrels were in our ductwork! It is difficult to turn corners but can get it to work somewhat. Very clear pictures! Good lighting in pitch black ducting.

Don't buy
I bought this product had it for 3 months and it worked great. Had a good picture quality and was very nice and easy to use and now I am getting no signal from the camera. The light on the camera lights up but I don't get a picture. I have tied contacting them through the support email on the instructions that come with the product and have gone to their website and used their contact section. I have tried twice both ways and after a week I haven't had a response ... show more

It's worth the money
The scope is definitely a good value and worth the money, but it leaves some things to be desired. Mainly the video quality or picture quality is lacking. It gives you a pretty grainy or somewhat grainy. In other words, the picture quality is Just good enough to keep you from making the effort to return. The articulation action works great but the cord is way too limp. It doesn't hold its shape at all. It's like holding a little piece of rope. If only it were a little bit stiffer, I ended up using several pieces of shrink wrap near the camera to stiffen up the first third of the cord so that I could guide it into the intake of an engine to inspect, at which point it worked great. Small size is definitely a plus ... show more
