  • Solid performing inspection camera
Was excited to receive my Depstech borescope. This is the first dual lens camera borescope I've had, and I've been impressed by the many features on the camera as well as the overall quality of the picture quality and the product as a whole The most obvious feature is that this scope has a high-quality integrated screen. Many other scopes use wifi to connect to a phone as the screen. Although many of those are lower priced (as you'd expect) and work capably, it's much more convenient having an integrated screen that doesn't require connection everytime the scope is used. The screen itself is high quality and very bright, and is nicely viewable from all angles Picture quality also is excellent. The camera shows great detail with high clarity and each lens has adjustable lights. (The lights have 4 different brightnesses; it would have been nice if there were more so that the brightness was a little more adjustable) The dual lens allow swapping from the main front camera to a side camera. The side camera has been nice at times to help orient where the scope is at, but so far I've been primarily reliant on the main front camera A few other notes from having used this scope for roughly a week: - Charging uses a standard USB-C charger rather than a proprietary cable (or older USB connection like micro USB). Even better, it charges just fine with my phone's ultra fast charger. Many cheaper electronics with USB-C will not charge with fast chargers - Micro SD card is included, which is great for using the scope out of the box. It's only 32 gigs, but with my videos I take less than a minute long, this will be more than enough space for a long time - Includes a plastic case. The case is fairly large and feels like it could have been made a little more compact, but is padded with foam, adding a nice layer of protection for the scope. I must say that this is much more convenient than having to find a random box to store the scope in in between jobs - The controls on the scope are very intuitive. Aside from a couple of buttons that are similarly designed (the camera swap and rotate buttons have similar icons), nothing really required me to look at the instruction manual to figure out. All the menus and options are right where they should be. There are enough buttons on the device that I don't have to navigate through a ton of obscure menus to cycle through the options, but not so much that using the device requires me to go through a slew of buttons ... show more

  • nice all-in-one endoscope
Last year I bought Depstech Dual Lens wifi endoscope (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NJ8627V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), to trace down some of the issues I had, that was a pretty cheap option, and helped me a lot. I could not even imagen how usefull this kind of devices are, since that purchase I used it here and there to understand some of the engineering issues I had at home. that was not on a daily basis, so I did not keep the app installed on my iphone, it also always took a while to remember how it worked (built-in wifi spot etc), and at some point I got lazy and decvided it was a good time to upgrade to all-in-one endoscope. Another drawback was, that everything had been installed on my iphone, so if there were some workers around, I had to leave them my iphone so they could do the job.. Finally I ordered this DS550 model, at first I thouhg it would be a replacement, but turned out that I might be willing to keep both of them.. DS550 comes with relativele large box, I wish it would be smaller (see pics, comparing to my wifi endoscope box), and I wish I had an internal pocket (literally, when I opened the box, accessories in a tube fallen down on the floor, good I noticed that immediately). Screen is really of a good quality, but camera is noisy. For sure, you won't use it to take wedding photos, but it does its job pretty well (i.e. for what you usually need an endoscope - to find smth in a place, where neither you nor a smartphone can take a look yourself). My older Depstech Wifi has thinner and more flexible hose, while DP550 has still pretty flexible one, which can take its shape (about 30in long, you may see this on the picture next to yellow one). Additionally DS550 unit has a tourch and is easy to operate with one hand (also took a photo of this, so you can get some feeling). I also tried to make some photos with the unit, it is just a click and everything gets stored on an sd card), but since camera is moving, and once deep in a whole it is not as easy to manage, so sometimes it might be blurry, but overall when you fix issues, it gives you more than enough. To sum up, I am happy to keep both devices, - one is portative, with more flexible and longer hose, thinner, might be used where DS550 might not make its way; and if you have a small issue, just one off job, it might be better to go with this WiFi version. - DS550 on the other hand is an independent, easy to use unit, just turn it on and strat your investigation, its hose can keep a shape given, so it is easier to control where it goes; therfore if you see a need in such a device from time to time, a dedicated device might be a better choise. ... show more

  • Works as far as you can get it to go
Color: Black
The triple camera is huge because at some point you'll likely get stuck. The price was fair, the pictures and movies good. We needed to go up to about 35 feet (we only got 15, but it was enough to find a leak). Pros: - Nice case - Good pictures, by and large - Can pick 2 sides as well as forward views - Nice and long - Reasonably stiff (see 'Cons') - Comes with microSD card that works fine - USB-C charging - The physical buttons work well - Holds in the hand pretty well Cons: - Re-rolling it to fit in the case is a chore. It bends and holds a shape - You have to stop a video to change the view - The interface is a bit funky, although it does so little it is possible to get mostly used to it quickly - It can't go far around corners on its own, it just bunches up - Isn't marked with distance measurements on the cable (we had to put tape on it it to find out once to removed it from the pipe) - You have to stop the video to get a still, and you'll forget to restart the video Wishes - Taped to a fish tape, it'll go as far as the tape goes, but an articulating head would be nice (all the ones I found with that feature were too short) ... show more
