Description

These heavy duty long reach pruners are specially designed to cut branches up to 3/4" thick. The 6'. arm is lightweight but gives you extra reach up high while your' stay firmly on the ground. The color-series is the improved version of the original l-series heavy duty long reach pruners. While they share the same general specs & the exact same blade sets as their predecessors, the new versions boast a stronger inner rod & a new "Blind nut" attached to the pole to allow the stop screw in the handle to stay secure longer. Many of the spare parts for the new color-series (including inner rods) are not interchangeable with the original l-series.

I wish I'd bought this tool years ago! It's easy to position this pruner and cut at a specific branch collar within a dense shrub, something I found impossible to do with lever-operated pole saws. It's lightweight enough that I can reach way out with it while on my ladder without feeling off balance. The only downside is that in order to be lightweight, it can only be so strong. Specs say it can cut up to 3/4", but (depending on the density of wood being cut) I think that using it too often for diameters greater than 1/2" might lead to trouble, like a jam or break. ... show more

These clippers are extremely well made and sharp as all get out! If you have vines, Climbing roses,fruit trees you will absolutely use this and enjoy using them. I have for the first time safety trimed my wisteria and done it in a 1/4 of the time. If I use them to top or shape evergreens I make sure to clean the sap off the blades before I put them away.     • Saved my shoulder
5 years ago, while pruning shrubs from a step ladder, I developed a shoulder impingement. Basically, my right arm was useless for 3 months and I ended up going to physical therapy (and everything turned out fine). But that reaching up, stretching out from the body, and then squeezing the handles with the pruning loppers really did a number so I avoided future pruning. Then I found these! I can keep my arms close to my body and prune. I can work from a sturdy stool instead of the 4th or 5th step of a step-ladder. The way the head can be positioned for easy viewing is icing on the cake. I'll be honest, I looked at these for 3 months but couldn't justify spending the $100+ bucks. But now I'm very glad I did and my many hedges of lilacs, yews, etc, never looked better. ... show more

Have owned 2 other long reach pruners & they last about 2-3 years. Was looking for a better quality pruner & found it with this. Wow. Well made, like the cable is twice the diameter of the other pruners. Plus the quality of the blades, they cut up to 1/2" diameter limbs with ease. Lightweight. And comes with a parts list if you ever have to order parts. Made in Japan. I highly recommend this pruner. I have a pomegranate orchard and have to prune suckers from the base of the trees every winter and this requires me to get down on the ground for every tree. This is considerable task because I own 200 trees. The long-reach pruners allowed me to complete this job from a standing position and made the job damned-near pleasant. It reduced the time spent on the task by 66.7% and reduced the misery by at least 99%. The blades are very sharp and the cutting action is very powerful. I should have bought one of these years ago. Sheared hundreds of trees with this pruner. We have a small Christmas tree farm here in Oregon. The quality and usability of this pruner is excellent. Saves a whole bunch of reaching and standing on a short step ladder to reach tops of 9 to 12 foot trees. A major time saver. And this thing will cut any branch a Felco 2 hand pruner will cut. I bought these ARS pruners three years ago and since I didn’t write a review then, I will now. Three years later and they still work as well as they did the day that I bought them.
