I run an art gallery and most of the time artists forget, or just don't add, the appropriate hanging wire on their work. Then I have to do it and a big drill is sometimes way too much and can cause damage to a canvas or frame. This gadget is so handy and easy to use! Small and light, it's easy to get a screw started in a tight spot and then I can get accomplished what I need to do. I have only used it a couple of times, so I cannot say how long the battery is good for, but, at this point, I find I definitely like the size and ability to drill into a wood canvas frame. I like that the bit sizes are varied as well because not all frames are the same size. I need smaller hanging hooks for smaller pieces and larger ones for larger pieces. I just keep it on the desk and near the charger. Eventually I'm going to need it. For now, the battery is doing fine. ... show more

UPDATE; The owners reached out to me after my 2 star review and sent a replacement unit. Works great and does what I need for it to do. Great customer service. The battery life on it is weak at best. Charged for over 24 hours and still did not seem to have enough power to drill through balsa. Then the motor gave out shortly thereafter. Sometimes it works and other times it does not, even after charging. Also the screw to hold the drill bits in place "disappeared" and now I cannot use any of the drill bits. ... show more

Having said I'm a gearhead, there are times when I'm building a model and I need to make a precision drill hole. The unit is small and lightweight, it came packaged rather well. I assembled it easily, an allen key is provided, two screws, and a couple of parts, one to operate the 'drill press' and one to secure the drill press in place. I'm giving it four stars because the piece operating the drill press wouldn't thread onto the left-hand side hole. I'm left-handed. I put a couple of drops of airbrush oil on the rails and it made the press slide easier. I like how the base has rubber feet to prevent sliding around and the one covers the screws holding the arm in place. The drill motor and bits are in a nice box and it holds the pieces together well. There is a press latch to keep everything from falling out, a nice touch. This is not a 'more power' type tool. I've got it when I need it, battery life isn't an issue with me as this may sit for a while between uses. A bit of storage space for the charging cord would have been nice. Changeable bit chucks to use smaller drill bits would be nice, I wouldn't think any bits larger than the ones provided would be a good thing for the drill motor. ... show more

I have a hand drill also, but there are places that I can reach and drill with this neat tool that would be difficult if not impossible with my hand drill. I purchased the unit specifically for drilling PC boards and heatsinks, and it has done that. Its small size makes it perfect for my desk. However, I would like to see it a bit more powerful and the battery lasting longer. When drilling the mounting holes for the aluminum heatsinks I was only able to drill four holes between each battery charge, and the unit felt like it was really pushing to get the hole drilled, even at the highest speed. ... show more

So, working on installing lighting in models and working in very tight spaces, as well as the scale of the models being worked on, I ordered a tradition pin vise and was very frustrated at the manual-ness of it. I looked at several of the cordless options out there and figured I would give this one a shot due to reviews. Was not disappointed. This is SO much easier drilling out pinholes (0.5mm and larger) and even scoring surfaces than the manually operated one. The adjustable speeds and the reverse features also a bonus. It's light-weight and fits nicely in my fingers (and I have small girly hands) and the included lighting at the tip helps me to really see into and focus on the areas I am working in. The ONLY downside - and thus the 4 star rating - is that, as a rechargeable device, it would have been nice to have a cable come with it. I searched everywhere and couldn't find one, but not worried as I have many USB-C charged devices around I can easily plug into. Still...for the price, you would think that a cord would come with it. The ergonomics for turning the drill on/off are not very friendly as your fingers are no where near the buttons when holding it to actually use it. Not always do you want the drill direction to reverse when you finish the hole, but that is what it does. It takes a second press of the misplaced button to stop. Twisting the drill in the air prior to drilling is cool but basically useless. You want to align the drill while it is stopped and then start drilling. Also that action doesn't work while mounted in the press. The drill press required adjustments to get smoother vertical action. Just never moves without some binding, but is just usable after adjusting. In the end, the cheaper models from other manufacturers are more useful to use. ... show more
