1. First Impressions & Setup Unboxing was a pleasant surprise. The amp feels solid, which is rare at this price point. The control knobs turn smoothly, with no wobble or looseness. Bluetooth pairing was simple: hold the button, connect, done. 2. Sound Quality It’s not voiced for acoustic instruments or keyboards, and it doesn’t pretend to be. This is an electric guitar amp—it’s meant to impart character. The distortion channel is basic, verging on buzzy if pushed, but manageable if you keep the gain in check. Clean tones are slightly muddy, and while you can adjust the EQ, there’s only so much fidelity you’ll get from a single speaker this size. It doesn’t try to sound like more than it is. It knows it’s a 10W practice amp and performs accordingly. 3. Features & Usability The 2-band EQ is functional—you can shape the tone enough to suit a room or preference. Portability is a strong suit: it’s light, compact, and easy to carry. Ideal for travel, tight spaces, or quiet practice without sacrificing convenience. The headphone jack works well, with minimal hiss and no noticeable tone loss—useful if it’s going in your kid’s room or a shared space. Bluetooth works fine, clearly intended more for casual listening than serious playback. As noted in the manual, the amp’s tone and volume controls don’t apply during Bluetooth mode. It functions as a basic Bluetooth speaker—not something you can play along with while the guitar is plugged in. It’s either Bluetooth or instrument input, not both. The sound in that mode is a bit muddy, but not bad. Still, it’s a convenient extra—not the main draw. The power supply uses a proper transformer brick with a PC-style cord and runs clean—no hum, no buzz. 4. Use Case Fit It makes sense as a first amp for a beginner. It doesn’t feel like a toy, and it doesn’t seem likely to fall apart after a few uses. It would also serve well as a backup amp or something to leave at a cabin or in a travel kit. It’s not fragile, and it doesn’t require careful handling. And yes—it’s absolutely loud enough for bedroom practice. 5. Value & Alternatives At the time of writing, its regular list price is $85. At that price, I’d skip it and get a Fender Frontman 10G for a bit less, with better tone and a much more proven track record. But at $49.99, it’s a different conversation. At that price, the Aroma offers good value. You’re getting more than you paid for, which isn’t something you can often say in this bracket. 6. Bottom Line I expected less—and that’s probably why this amp feels like a win. It’s not magic. But at $50, it delivers what it promises and a little more. That’s enough to earn a recommendation—if the price remains right. Just because it says Aroma doesn't mean it stinks.

Overall, this is a decent little practice amp with a few nice features, but it’s far from perfect. The Bluetooth functionality works as expected, and while the guitar amp tone isn’t anything special, it gets the job done. The clean channel is noticeably more usable and pleasant than the distorted one, which lacks dynamics and feels flat. I tried running an amp sim and some effects into it, but the result was underwhelming—likely due to input clipping at higher volumes. That said, there are two bonus uses worth mentioning: It can double as a basic bass practice amp at low volume and gain. It functions surprisingly well as a mono Bluetooth speaker. Just don’t expect deep bass—it’s a 5-inch speaker after all. It seems more like a general-purpose speaker than one tailored specifically for guitar. My overall impression is that this is basically a Bluetooth speaker with a simple analog guitar input circuit thrown in and packaged in an amp-shaped box. Would I recommend it? Not really. There are better guitar amps available in this price range. But if you’re looking for something ultra-portable, lightweight, and mostly for clean tones, this could serve as a fun little jam box. Just know what you’re getting into.
