  • worth the money
Color: Pearl
the amp is very light and compact but packs a punch it definitely exceeded my expectations on quality and sound its built well and controls are very easy to navigate its plenty loud enough for a practice amp the distortion channels sound good and the clean tones sound great as well the only thing i dislike is the volume control it goes up and down everytime you switch channels but it's not a big deal the app is what really makes the amp worth the $$$ theres tons of cool features to explore and its very fun to play around with I would say it's worth $270 and would recommend buying....good luck ... show more

  • Versatile amplifier, drum machine, Bluetooth player in one
Color: Black
This product worked right out of the box; I had no problem connecting the app to the amp, which is what it's all about. From the app (on tablet or phone) you adjust the sound of the amp and various effects boxes; it is a virtual pedal board. Basic adjustments to gain, volume, modulation, delay and reverb effects can also be made via hardware knobs on the amp. There is a main output level control for playing with full effects at a lower listening level. The other set of features pertains to the ability of the app/amp to play its own music, either over Bluetooth, or from a built-in bass and drum machine. If you play a song from YouTube, Apple Music or Spotify it will listen to the music and analyze the song for chord structure and rhythm. It will then tell you what chords to play as the song progresses. A feature called Smart Jam listens to you play your own music, then composes a selection of bass and drum tracks to play along with you. Overall, it's a versatile and fun practice amp. The 4 inch stereo speakers make a large sound image; it fills the room with sound. It isn't really made for playing live with other instruments though, as the 40 Watt power output might not really be loud enough. Also, while it's very lightweight it does not run on batteries. That's going to limit where you want to take it. Best just to set it up in your studio and have a blast practicing and jamming along. Edited to add: I finally connected the amp to my computer via USB, and was disappointed. Even after downloading and installing drivers I had terribly long latency when transferring digital audio from amp to PC. The driver said it was ASIO compatible, but it only showed up as MMC in Cakewalk. Instead I'm now using the amp's headphone output jack to transfer audio to PC via a separate analog-to-digital interface which does run ASIO, with almost no lag. Sound quality recorded on the PC is not bad this way. ... show more

  • I didn’t expect it to be such a great amp
Color: Black
Great tone, lots of tone options. Built in effects like delay, reverb are really nice. The amp looks great, and it has an app which I find is quite fun with all of its tone options. For the price I really sort of expected something mediocre but I was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint would be I expected it to have more volume for 40 watts. It is plenty loud for singing and playing with other instruments perhaps besides a full drum kit. Also a good amp for shows if you mic it. ... show more

  • LOVE this thing!!!
Color: Pearl
Fantastic dekstop amp. Plenty loud for jamming with your friends without a drumset or just rocking out by yourself in your room. Would probably even be plenty loud for a small venue gig. Bluetooth is snappy with only a very SLIGHT detectable delay between video and audio. Comes with a super comfortable strap that you can easily move the amp around with. I got mine for $239 during their black Friday sale and it's hilarious to me it's "cyber monday" now and it's $320. It's not worth $320. It's worth $279 at most. It's also super easy to connect with your phone. It comes with loads of presets, plus the preset cloud, where other artists have saved their presets for you to enjoy. I want to get a battery pack for it at some point so it can truly be portable, but the one I'm looking at is $80 and that's not quite in the cards right now. Anyways, so you can get LOADS of presets, from jsut about any artist, any song, any genre, etc etc. Cleans, dirty mean crunchy distortion, glassy shiny tones, just about everything. I haven't seen much, if anything this amp CAN'T do. Would 100% recommend to someone on sale, but not at $320 lol ... show more

  • Fantastic Practice Amp with Some Great Features
Color: Pearl
The Positive Grid Spark is a fantastic addition to any collection. Right out of the box it was easy to set up and good to go, preloaded with great presets (although you can create and save your own if you’d like) and with access to over 10,000 downloadable tones the possibilities are endless. The good: -This amp weighs just about nothing, making it easy to move around if you don’t have a dedicated music space (or if you want to use it elsewhere) -The Spark App is very easy to use and gives you access to endless tone possibilities with thousands of amps and pedal combinations to play around with -The “Smart Jam” program (which can be accessed through the app) is a great tool for you to practice -You can use the amp as a Bluetooth speaker Cons: -As with most small amps, in my opinion the speakers push out wayyy too much bass over mids or treble. This can be easily fixed by turning the bass setting down, so it’s really not a huge issue. -Compared to its competitor, the Spark amp does not have a portable battery built in and needs to be plugged in to use -Positive Grid has several “expansions” available for its other products (more amp models, pedals, etc), however does not make them available to Spark users as of yet. Overall, I was definitely recommended this amp to anyone. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far with it and do not plan to stop using it any time soon. ... show more
