This cat tree is awesome! We got our female cat as a kitten, and had no idea how big she would grow to be (adopted, didn't know anything about her when we got her). She was kind of a runt when she was born, so we figured she'd stay small. My husband said we could get a cat as long as it was female, short haired and stayed fairly small. Well, she ended up being part Maine Coon, and at 2.5 years old, she weighs almost 18 lbs. Long haired and massive. Whoops. At least she's female? The cat tree came quickly with Prime shipping and was so easy to put together. Overall, this cat tree is awesome. There are some minors cons that I'll get into later. Pros: 1. Stability - Like I said, she's a big girl, so I was worried about stability. This cat tree is probably the most stable I've come across. It's still a tiny bit wobbly, but not to an even semi-concerning level, and in a corner it's near perfect. If the base had been made 1-2 inches wider, it would be absolutely perfect. The lower single standing ledge box (no clue what the actual term is, on top of a single sisal scratcher) causes the tree to come away from the wall about 1-2 inches on one side. I'll probably have my husband cut a piece of wood to wedge in there so it's even more stable. If she was a smaller cat, I wouldn't have any concerns at all, and your average cat doesn't usually meet or exceed 18 pounds. 2. Materials - I love the fleece part instead of the ugly orange-brown, shiny carpet that cat trees are usually made with. It's a light pinkish color, and I think it's actually pretty attractive (for a cat tree). It's cute without being girly. So much better looking than the typical materials used. It doesn't stand out like a sore thumb, which I appreciate. 3. Assembly - As I mentioned earlier, it was incredibly easy to assemble. Some large bolts, a washer, an alan wrench and 30 minutes (max) later and you're done. My two daughters (1.5 and 3.5) helped my husband put this together. He put the first ledge on backwards (not the base) so I took it partially apart and fixed it, and it maybe took 10 minutes total from partial disassembly to fixing it to reassembling. He said that originally he had it the correct way, but it looked strange so he switched it. At first it does look a little strange, but follow the picture on amazon. The rope behind it should be hanging straight down, not resting on the shelf. This provides a platform for the cat to use to get into the house on the next level. Sure, some cats will be brave enough to jump all the way up, but for larger cats, this could cause the tree to feel unsteady under their weight/size, and frighten the cat. Then your cat tree is useless, because kitty won't go near it. The platform also provides kittens with a way to climb up the tree easier. So make sure it's the right way, especially if your cat isn't into the tree at first, which is how I noticed the error. 4. Use - My cat has had the same small scratch post since we got her when she was roughly 8 weeks old (http://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-Products-Scratcher-Furniture/dp/B008GG9FSS/ref=sr_1_53?ie=UTF8&qid=1434488930&sr=8-53&keywords=cat+scratch&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011 - just like that, except instead of a sleeper basket it had the additional posts and balls). The base was that shiny carpet material usually used for cat scratches, and it has a half dome of sisal that she loves scratching. It used to have a scratch post and 3 mini scratchers with balls hanging off, but she destroyed that part very quickly. She is obsessed with it, and scratches it intensely every time I go to clean her litter box or feed her. The sisal is finally starting to come undone from the half dome (I’m actually pretty impressed with the quality of that part of the scratcher), so I knew it was time for a new one. I came to Amazon looking for a good deal on a larger scratcher for her, and found this cat tree. The reviews are plentiful and at the time of this review has 4.5 stars. There was also one available on Amazon warehouse with no defects at all, for around $55, so I pounced on it (dad-joke pun intended). My cat loves this tree. Initially she was very unsure of it, even before she got on it. After about 10 minutes she started rubbing her face on the corner. I left her alone and came back 10 minutes later and she had already killed one of the toys on the top, so I knew she had at least tried it out, which was reassuring. Nothing worse than trying to get an unwilling cat to try new things. She was pretty hesitant of it, until I brought it into my bedroom and adjusted the bottom platform. Since she chewed through the string of the toy, I tied some thick hair ties together and strung that through the loop provided. (Shown in picture, I also tied the ball to the bottom for now). She's obsessed with hair ties and plays fetch with them (to an annoying level). That instantly spiked her attention and she wanted at them. Cons: 1. The base - As I mentioned above, the base is about 1-2 inches too short on one side. This minor addition wouldn't have cost the company too much, and would have made this cat tree perfect. It already blows the competition out of the water, but the incredible stability would have really set them apart. 2. The toys - Good god, the toys. I don't know what they were thinking with those thin little strings. They basically made an amazing, sturdy cat tree, built for withstanding the brute force of multiple felines, and then included these puny toys. Seriously, a newborn kitten could chew though one of these while still blind. I figure the company threw the toys in as extras, but didn't care much what people thought of them, because even without them the cat tree is great. And since there's a built in loop provided, the owner is free to hang their own cat toys from it anyway, which is pretty cool. Most scratchers have the toy stapled to it, so when the cat destroys the string in 1 second, it's worthless, unless you want to put another industrial sized staple in the scratcher (which will, as you know, last 1 second before annihilation). That being said, the balls coaxed my cat up onto the tree, so she must like them. She's pretty desensitized to toys like that, since I have two toddlers and she's around toys all day long. Apparently there's just something about them that she likes. I'm going to find a way to reattach them with something much more sturdy. Thicker hair ties work great, since they can stretch very far without breaking. If you do this, PLEASE MONITOR your cat's play with them. Inspect the hair ties for breakage, and use thicker ones. Don't use child's hair ties, as they break easily after minimal use. If one does break it could pose as a choking or blockage risk if ingested. Despite the few flaws this product has, I’m rating it 5 stars. This cat tree is attractive (for a cat tree), affordable, sturdy and well liked by a cat as large as a Maine Coon, whose only scratcher (which she loved to death) prior to this tree was a smaller, floor scratcher. I’ll update with durability once we've had it for a while, as this is her first day of use.

What a terrific purchase this was, I should have bought this sooner! I compared a ton of these cat trees here on Amazon before making this choice. I read descriptions, measurements and looked at a ton of photos. I've had cat trees in the past that were wobbly and cheap but this is by far the best quality cat tree I've ever purchased. The size is perfect. Big enough to be substantial but small enough to not be overwhelming. I almost got a taller model but at the last minute I decided this would be more proportionate to my small rooms and low ceilings and I'm really happy with the size. It's still tall enough so my kitties can get that 'up high' feeling that cats seem to love. I love that this is covered in fleece as opposed to the traditional carpet or the fake fur that so many seem to have now - I just didn't like the look of those as much, this fleece look and feel is awesome. The color is Ivory as described and looks bright and nice in my house. This arrived in one good sized box; the item is pictured on the box; just a warning for anyone planning a gift. It was well packaged and in good shape. Heavy press-wood underneath and the fleece is very securely attached over all surfaces. The fleece completely covers the bottom of the upper two perches so that it looks nice and finished from below. No weird smells either as some new products can have. This was very easy to assemble, all the pieces were labeled with stickers and the instructions are a series of simple diagrams starting at the bottom and adding each layer using the enclosed bolts. All holes are pre-drilled, you just piece it together and tighten. No tools were needed other than the hex wrench which was included. The bolts were quality and well threaded, not cheap junk. All the hardware came in a little cloth drawstring bag which I will keep spare cat toys in - these little touches added to the overall sense of quality. It came with two furry toys and a rope - the rope attaches to the bottom rear as shown in the photo, although I personally don't expect that my cats will play with the rope, it's a bit big for a cat. In fact, I might just remove the rope and give it to my dog! The small furry ball attaches to a loop under the one of the upper platforms like in the photo and then the other is a spare. I was amazed at how easy this went together, everything fits easily into place and is hand tightened and feels incredibly solid. I'm very impressed with how sturdy this feels. It is not the least bit top heavy, I'm baffled by the few reviews that say otherwise. I completed it in about a half hour or so, added a little catnip in the house and on the two upper levels and stuck my cats on it. One cat took to it IMMEDIATELY. She climbed into the house, curled up and slept for hours without moving. The older kitty took a while, he's generally very cautious with new things but after a couple hours he too was back on it, tested out the uppermost level, then napped on the next level down, and finally stole the house from the other cat. Shortly after that there was some playing; they aren't young kittens, so it's good to see them playful. I have two cats, one is a male, 12 years old and weighs just over 12 pounds, and the other is female, 8 years old and weighs 10 pounds. Both of them fit comfortably on all parts of this tree. The larger cat curls up on the upper platforms with no trouble at all, although they aren't big enough for either cat to stretch out on of course, although the bottom shelf is big enough to lie on. I also like how the two upper platforms have raised lips which makes it a bit less easy to go rolling off from too much catnip. I assumed the smaller cat would fit in the house but I'm happy to see the 12 pound cat fits in it nicely as well. He has room to curl up and sleep inside which he's doing as I write. The smaller female has already tested out the scratching posts which is great - my poor chair needs a break!! When they go jumping up it doesn't budge or wobble in the least. Nice and solid. I'm completely thrilled with this in every way and only wish that I purchased it sooner! I can't think of a single thing I don't like about it, it's sturdy, good looking and is clearly a quality brand. The price was very reasonable and well worth it. I highly recommend taking some time to look through the user contributed photos, it's fun to see other people's setups and it also helped me get a feel for the size of the unit as well. I do believe this will help make things right again with my cats after bringing home that terrible cute puppy some time back. I'm pretty sure they've been holding grudges about that but today they seem very happy and can now escape said puppy with ease. Get one for your kitties, they deserve it.

(I bought the B5701 57-inch ivory tree.) We have two fat/foofy sibling cats, 10 years old. The boy, Ren, is 20 pounds, the girl, Coco, 16. We're aware that this isn't ideal, but they're already on diet food, don't hunt, don't respond to catnip, and don't play with things. I've been desperate to find something to get them moving that they actually enjoy. We also recently got a puppy, which stressed Coco out so much that she retreated to the musty corners of our basement that he can't access. I read that simply providing a high place for your cat to chill can help reduce their stress levels, so I specifically looked for a cat tree with tall sleeping platforms. Finally, we needed a way to hide their food from the pup, so I was drawn to the abundance of flat surfaces on which to put food. I was worried that any tree I bought would be too small for these cats. After careful review, this one looked like the best option. It is a little small (if we could expand all of the dimensions by two inches, the tree-to-cat ratio would look more like the advertised photos) but they have no problem with it. Ren occupies nearly the entire volume of the hut part, but he fits, so he sits. When in loaf mode, the cats occupy the entire surface area of the upper platforms, but the raised edges help contain them and probably make them feel like they're squishing into a box. They seem pleased with the coziness factor. Only after I'd assembled the tree did I wonder whether my cats would be too big/fat to jump up to the higher platforms. I noticed that the lower levels jut out only a few inches past the edges of the upper levels, so the jump has to be all vertical and no horizontal. The cats were hesitant to make those jumps in the beginning, but we put the tree in a corner and next to a window ledge, so they found creative ways to get where they needed to go. Now, a few weeks later, they navigate the whole thing like speedy fur ninjas (who totally fail at stealth). Stressed Coco LOVES the second-tallest platform. It's become her happy place away from the pup and puts her right at eye-level with us for easy rubs. The food trick worked, too! We put Ren's food bowl right outside one of the hut entrances, and Coco's food bowl on top of the hut so they have space to eat simultaneously. They don't care at all about the rope or fuzzball toy attachments. The pup gets a kick out of the rope, though, since it's right near the ground. As for the tree itself, it was SUPER easy to put together. I'm a 5'4" little lady with no upper body strength whatsoever. They give you the allen wrench and all you need to do is twist things into place. The tree is impressively sturdy, high-quality, and safe! My only qualm is that there was a mistake in the assembly instructions: it said to use two of the longer screws to fasten the hut to the platform, when in fact you are supposed to use the two shorter screws. I caught it eventually when I got to the upper platforms and wondered why I was only left with short screws that didn't fit. Woop. Not a big deal and easily fixed, but accuracy would be appreciated. My cats like the tree, I feel that it is extremely safe/durable even with their weight, and Coco is happy again. Great purchase.

I ordered this condo when I recently brought a fourth cat into my house. I had previously bought a similar product ( Go Pet Club Cat Tree, 50W x 26L x 72H, Beige ) which has three perches on top but decided I needed a fourth perch so every cat would have one. Equality is the key to cat harmony, after all. The instructions for the product were very simple, straight-forward, and I put it together by myself in less than 30 minutes. Absolutely everything you need to assemble it is included in the box, which is a big plus for me. The condo itself is pretty sturdy. It's made of the same materials as my other cat condo and that thing is going strong 3+ years into having it, complete with a 20 lb Maine Coon mix who likes to take running jumps up to the top. That same hefty cat did manage to climb to the top perch of this condo, though it looked a little more wobbly than I'd like when he jumped up there. So far, my three older cats (one 11 lb, one 12 lb, and the above mentioned 20 lb behemoth) have managed to all play on the top two levels together without it tipping over or anything, which earns it my seal of approval. One feature I really like, which my other cat condo doesn't include, is the rope/hole combo. My cats love to play with it. As I'm typing this review, one of them is trying very hard to figure out how to catch the rope and the little puff ball below it, all at once. There are only two negatives I can think of with this product. The first is that the base could stand to be a bit bigger. The condo doesn't wobble any more than I expected it to but a bigger base would make it more secure nonetheless. My cats are daredevils so a little bit of shaking doesn't scare them, but if you have a heavy cat who is easily spooked, they may not make it to the top levels of this condo. The other negative seems to be a common feature with this type of cat furniture. The stairs/ladder cannot be added to this condo. The tabs you use to screw it on are at two different heights and angles, meaning you cannot get a secure connection. I had the same problem with my other cat condo, which I believe was manufactured by someone else. Personally, I just leave the stairs off because my cats don't use them anyway, but if you have a kitten or senior cat who cannot jump easily you may want to look into a different type of cat furniture. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend it. I looked at every supermarket and pet store in my town and this is, by far, much more than I'd get anywhere else for the money.

Opened the box and put it together in about 20 minutes. Everything I needed was included and the instructions were good. I moved it over in front of the window and put a little catnip on it. Our 10 y/o cat loved it then and loves it now. He now spends 90-95 percent of his time on it. He perches on the top or second platform. He doesn't pay much attention to the other platforms; he basically uses those to get to the second or top tier. I was worried about a few things when I bought it. 1) I was worried that the faux fur would be too thin as some on here had said it was. The fur is fine, there is nothing wrong with it, and it is not thin, it seems like it would be more comfortable than carpet but I'm not a cat, so who knows. But, the fur is not a problem. 2) I was worried about the height. I think the height is good as well. If he is sitting up on the top perch, his head is roughly the same height as mine, and I am 6.2. I think he likes being at that height. Plus, he can stare out the window just about all day long. We live in a busy place, so I think there is a lot for him to look at. 3) I was worried about sturdiness. This thing is sturdy. I foresee no problems with the construction. Although, it is made from pressed wood, so the boards are not as rigid as, say, plywood. So, don't go climbing on it. He scratches the rope often too (the sisal rope not the bottom hanging rope. he doesn't really play with that). He sits back on an area and goes to town on it. *The balls. I remember some talk about the balls on one of the trees that I was looking at. He actually likes these balls, and I can't see how they would be a problem. I think one of the reviewers said their cat choked on one of the balls. I don't think that was one of these balls. These balls are held to the platform with screws. I attached the second one to the top tier with the screw that holds that tier in place (just wrapped it around the screw). Works great. Every now and again, when he gets frisky, he bats the balls around, bits them and plays around with them. He likes to keep them up on the tiers for some reason. Maybe he doesn't like to see them dangling, I don't know. I give it max stars all day long every day. He has had it for at least a few months. This is his real estate and we could never get rid of it! This cat tree is his home in the world. He had a "life changing event." He went from being an outdoor cat for 6 years at his "grandparents" house to an indoor cat at our house. We got him this after several months. He has been much less anxious and bored since. Not that he was unhappy before, but I think he really is as ease now. When we first got him, he scratched himself all of the time. Now he rarely scratches himself. There could be many factors, but I attribute this cat tree to the relief of some of his anxiety. Definitely a great product. Remember, the boards are made of thinner pressed wood, but if you don't climb on them, they won't break. Because this should not be an issue, it still gets five stars.

Researched cat trees for over a week, wanted to make sure I got my money's worth. At first I was unsure about the fleece instead of carpet, but it is great and is holding up well! I also thought I might want something even taller, but this is the perfect size for my two 12 lb cats! They are 3 and 4 yo and lay around a lot. My small dog likes little cat toys, and usually finds a way to get ahold of anything I give them, so it's a challenge to get them to play with toys. The highest the dog can get on this tree is the first ledge, and that's if he really tries, so it's nice to have something just for the cats. Within the first 5 minutes of putting it together, both of my cats were playing on the cat tree! I was impressed!! Put it by a window, they like to look out! The first few days they mostly slept in the house, taking turns. I thought the top two levels were too small, as they do climb on them but didn't lay on them at first. Now I put a little catnip up there in the morning and they lay down on the shelves and hang over the edges. They also play with each other from shelf to shelf. My 3yo cat was having a behavior of pulling books off my bookshelf before I got this. He is no longer doing it! He was bored and under stimulated. He still pretends to scratch on the posts occasionally even though he is declawed in front. He loves the ball, I am watching it very carefully, he doesn't play that rough, so far so good. If you are concerned about the ball, just don't use it and attach a different hanging toy from the pet store. This was an awesome deal! Free shipping, and much cheaper than pet stores! Easy to put together, sturdy. I liked it so much, I sent my mom one for her 2 cats! If you have a fat cat, this is a very good way to get him/her exercising. I also use food dispensing balls - the cats have to roll the ball for their food. I keep those balls in a plastic tray (crumbs). Stimulates them and keeps em healthier :) All around, awesome tree, and fits in with decor well!!! Get this!

NOTE: There are several styles of this cat tree listed as an option here so in order to avoid confusion, my review is about the Khaki 4-tiered model listed as measurements 30"X 26"X 57" Assembly: Super easy to put together. Assembling furniture and even toys (think race car tracks for kids) are the worst for me. There is not a mechanically minded bone in my body. I have never been able to figure out the Rubix Cube, the only reason I didn't fail shop class in jr high was because I managed to keep all of my appendages, as a child (and even now, if I'm honest) my Lego houses consisted of two bricks - one for the base and one as the "roof". But this cat tree was so easy to put together, I was able to do it within 15 minutes or less! If my 6 year old son was strong enough, he would have been able to assemble this tree himself. Sturdiness: I have a 15 pound male cat and an 8 pound female cat who can both sit on this thing with no problems. The maximum holding weight according to the description is 50 pounds. Even the very top box area is sturdy enough for my large cat to jump into and lay down in. Features: As you can tell from the photo, there are three levels plus a base with three entrances (hole on top, one hole on left side, one hole on right side) so your cats can either climb or hide in a little cubby hole. One of my cats is a predominate climber while the other prefers the cubby hole so this is perfect for both of them. Another cool feature is that each pole holding up a platform doubles as a scratching post. My cats can't get enough of that feature. They've finally decided to give up on scratching my leather couch. A note about the two mice toys that come with this unit, it very clearly states in the instructions that the toys are more for display purposes, they are not meant to last. They recommend you buy a quality toy that you can tie to the loop that is provided. Conclusion: For the price ($109.99 when I bought it last week but I see it's now up to $111.95 as of this writing) it's well worth it! Both of my cats love it and it's sturdy enough for large cats too. Armarkat recommends you put this unit against a wall for added support and I recommend that wall be near a window, if at all possible. Your cats will love you to the ends of the earth if you do.

My cats LOVE this thing! This is the second one I have bought, this one from Armakat and the other from GOPets, both of which are great. In fact the Go pets one is 7 years old and though a bit wobbly ( needs tightening occasionally) it is still used daily by the cats. The Armakat came quickly, was packaged well, just the right amt of stuffing, and easy to put together. All the nuts, bolts, and screws, and tool were in the box. Hint: don't even try to read the confusing instructions. Just let your common sense guide you- look at the picture of the finished cat tree. I had it together in less than 15 minutes .I place the cats' trees by windows so they can look outside and see the birds. The cats were already acquainted with a cat tree so they knew just what to do - climb, scratch, play, and "roost". I have 5 cats, and every one of them is comfortable and happy on the tree. The first one I bought ( GoPets) stood for a while before they figured out what to do with it. But I sprinkled a bit of homegrown catnip and some catnip infused toys on the trays and in the cubby, and once they were up there and in place, they LOVED it. The part I appreciate the most is that now they don't use my furniture to work their claws and instead seem to like the type of rope (or what ever that is) that's wrapped around the post. The cat trees from both companies appear to be made with identical materials, and since the first one I got is still standing and doing its duty, I assume this one will too. The posts on the first one have been ripped to shreds but still have plenty of " scratch" left on them. Two tools that I have found are useful for de'furring" the trees ( and the furniture) are a type of rubber sponge , maybe called the magic or miracle sponge, especially made to remove pet hair ( I found mine at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and in Petsmart- they last for YEARS, and a type of rubber brush with rubber "fingers" on it, made to remove pet hair. Since I have 5 cats, and now a kitten waiting for its forever home, the fabric collects a lot of pet hair, so the sponge and the brush help to maintain the neat clean appearance. Another thing I LOVE about the cat tree is that it's affordable. The trees in pet stores are ridiculously expensive. This was about a third of the price I would have paid in a pet store, made just as well, is durable, and if my cats don't care if I spent $80 or $200, I do. Anyone who has multi pets knows how the resources can run thin, so money must be spent wisely.
