The only litter I've been using for years now

This litter is a bit expensive but so worth it. For the longest time we were getting the Costco pack of litter because of price and conveniency. But it was making my then-cat's fur very dusty. Later with more research I found out it was because of the litter dust and that it's not good for cats. Makes sense, why make them go to the toilet in a cloud of litter dust? I tried tofu litter and it was a pain! Litter tracking everywhere so I decided to go back to sand. This has been the best one. Quick to cover the scent, very good clumping, and barely any dust! My Go-To Cat Litter

This is my go-to cat litter. It's more expensive than other brands and variations but it works very well - both in terms of dust mitigation and clumping. The quality makes litter box scooping very easy. It also has a pleasant scent, which isn't overpowering yet greatly reduces or eliminates box odor. The large quantity is nice in that it lasts much longer than the smaller sizes, although it is a bit heavy to carry, which the built-in packaging handle helps. Great cat litter! It clumps really well, is easy to scoop, and does a great job controlling odors. It does have some dust, but definitely less than a lot of other cat litters I’ve tried.

Honestly, I think this is the best cat litter I’ve tried in North America, hands down! I first heard about it on Xiaohongshu, a popular Chinese social media platform, where many cat owners highly recommended it. I used to buy my cat litter from Costco, and while it was definitely a good value, the litter box would get quite smelly and there was also a noticeable amount of dust. After seeing so many recommendations, I decided to give this one a try, and I was genuinely impressed. The odor control is excellent, and I’ve noticed virtually no dust at all. The price per bag is definitely higher, but for our family, it’s absolutely worth it. My kids used to complain all the time about how bad the litter box smelled, and this litter has pretty much solved that problem. FINALLY No dust

This is hands down the best litter I’ve ever used. We currently have 3 kittens, and have had other cats in the past so I have many years experience with pretty much every brand and type out there. I was using Fresh Step with these kittens at first, as I liked the odor control and got a good price on it at BJs. Sometimes we also used the sister-and very similar- product Scoop Away. Both of those seem to have become dustier over the years. So much so you can see clouds of it, also I was getting a tightness in my chest after daily scooping. I became worried for my fur babies lungs. Also one of our kitties seemed to have an allergy to it and was constantly itching after using the box. We now use 2 XL stainless steel litter boxes with this litter exclusively and couldn’t be happier! I was hesitant to try this since I found most A&H litters too heavily scented in the past. So much so that I felt the house smelled of litter ( not the cats business but the litter itself). This one has a light scent but is in NO way overpowering and I actually quite like it. This stuff is basically a sand consistency.. It’s softer on their little paws. This also helps with tracking as it’s so small you don’t have balls of clay tracking all over the place. I use a Dustbuster outside the boxes daily, and along with the step/catcher that came with the boxes we have zero tracking issues. Kitties had no problems transitioning, I think they actually prefer this litter. The baby that was itchy is no longer itchy. As for odor control- it’s even better than most other brands. I normally sprinkle in the Rocco & Roxie litter deodorizer which was a necessity with some litters. I haven’t needed to do so with this one, unless one of them has an exceptionally bad poo day lol Only negative is the cost. It’s more expensive and at first I didn’t intend to continue using. I got it on sale and was desperate since my one baby seemed allergic to the last litter. I’ve since bought 3 more boxes. It lasts longer as the clumps stay harder and nothing really sticks at all. And my kittens like to dig a hole to China before going 🤣 So I feel the price evens out. Hope this helps anyone sick of dusty, high tracking clay litters! ... show more

Great litter, dangerous box!

The Cloud Control litter gets five stars—there’s truly zero dust! The scent is light. Both of these things were most important to me because I have a couple of kitties who are very sensitive to these things. To skip the backstory and go straight to why I’m giving only 3 stars, scroll to the bottom. Backstory: I’d been using Sustainably Yours cat litter for around five years in automatic boxes. It was more than I’d wanted to spend, but at the time, one of my cats was fresh from a shelter and wouldn’t cover her poop, and the litter robot 3 kept ending up with her giant turds sticking to the ceiling of the litter box (the turning of the drum would cover her poop, but the clumps wouldn’t clump fast enough to not stick). I needed the fastest-clumping litter around, and Sustainably Yours was the only one out of many that I tried that would clump hard enough and fast enough as the litter robot turned to not end up stuck. In December of 2024, I got the Petkit Purobot ultra automatic box and the Sustainably Yours litter worked fine initially, but after around 6 months, I noticed litter clumps kept sticking to the bottom. I’d always followed the directions about not using anything abrasive to clean it so I guess the non-stick coating just fades with time. I’m unfortunately in a position where I really need to start cutting expenses, and I’m very tired of trying to keep up with all the clumps getting stuck to the purobot ultra, so I figured it was time to try a new litter. My main requirements were no dust and light or no scent because of my sensitive babies. This litter really fit the bill! AND it wasn’t getting stuck to the bottom of the litter box! For 37 lbs. of litter, it’s not a bad price. For reference, I was paying twice as much per pound for Sustainably Yours cat litter (over $21 for a 10 lb. bag), but it must just be a much lighter litter because there’s so much more litter in 40 lbs. of Sustainably Yours than in 37 lbs. of the Arm & Hammer Cloud Control litter, so it doesn’t go as far as I’d hoped. Here’s why I’m only giving 3 stars: You can only add litter to the Purobot Ultra from the front, so since I can’t fit the whole Arm & Hammer box inside of it to use the “spout” (they call it that but a spout would actually be something that could fold out to direct the litter coming out—what they include are perforations for a hole on the side of the box). That’s useless for the type of litter box I have, so I had to open the top flaps to fit a scoop inside to add litter to the boxes. The first time I did this, I really can’t remember how long it took me to open the top of the box, but it took a very long time. The cardboard is very strong, very thick, and glued with industrial-strength glue. There is absolutely no way to pull the flaps up. I’ve been using box cutters for almost 25 years (I worked in retail for many years from age 16) and have NEVER cut myself. Well, I really needed to open the new box of litter and it was late and I simply COULD NOT OPEN IT. I started making a million cuts with a box cutter and kept making only tiny bits of progress. I really started to get frustrated and was already exhausted so I had a momentary lapse in mindfulness and sliced three fingers. A $1,500 ER bill and 16 stitches later, it’s safe to say I’ll keep searching for a new litter. Why on earth Arm & Hammer wouldn’t include perforations or one of the string or plastic pulls to simply remove the top is beyond me. My issue is that I have to use a scoop due to the type of litter box I have, but the biggest complaint I read in the reviews before buying it is the sheer weight of the box. It honestly seems negligent on their part to not include a safe way to open the top. Oh, well. The hunt for the perfect litter continues! ... show more

Nomore poop or pee smell!!

This is good stuff! Besides it not creating a cloud of nastiness when you dump it, it also does a VERY good job of masking the poop and pee smell. I was scooping out poop and pee clumps from the litter box after 2 weeks, and every wiff smelled clean and fresh. I love that!
