  • Flexible and versatile
Style: Outlet Wall Plate Size: 3 Gang
Flexible and versatile. It gave me the option of standard keystone blocks, or a platform for a small streaming device. I am using the large 2" cutout to run a large smurf tube out of the bottom of the unit. I bought an inexpensive blank to fill the other side. It also has a nice trim plate that looks nice. I like that the socket is mounted at an angle as it allows me to fit a larger plug in the same space. Overall, pretty easy to install with a number of options. ... show more

  • Neat Install
Arlington Industries TVB712 is a well made product and is designed very well. I am an electrician and have installed a lot of "cut-in" type boxes and this one is great for the intended purpose. I installed three(3) of these boxes behind 60" flat screen tv's and what worked out best was I was able to install two of them vertically with no problems. After install my customer and I were very pleased with the final look. The only issue I had was with two large holes on each side that I had to cover with metal plates, just seems like there should have been a plug for these holes if you did not have to use them for cable access thru the box. Read install instructions well before starting and they should be an easy install. A bit pricey, but overall makes for a very neat install. Will purchase these type boxes again. ... show more

  • An honest assessment from and AV pro.
Style: Outlet Wall Plate Size: 3 Gang
The tvb714 provided a good solution behind my tv install. I. Particular the 2” hole allowed for flexible conduit to be used to facilitate future cable installations. It has ample room for two low voltage decorations plates and one AC outlet. Further improvements on the product could be....namely the 2” conduit opening needed to be teamed out a bit to support a standard electrical connector. That is poor engineering. Arlington should either cut a hole for 1-1/2” or 2” connectors and not something in between. Second, old work swing out flaps should be provided to easily support old work projects, third, the mounting slots on Botha sides of the box ought to have clearance for #10 screws and not not a smaller diameter. After all, this box is handling line, many lovo and conduit cables. Advice here is from someone who has been installing lovo and tv’s for 15 years and electrical engineering experience exceeding 40 years. ... show more

  • Not quite what the description says
This is a nice product but the description is misleading. It says there are "two angled outlet boxes for power cords" when it ships with only one. The other two spaces are for low voltage or cable use. I suppose there is a special order available to get the second box, but I didn't have time for that and managed to adapt a standard plastic receptacle box into the unit. Again, overall a nice product that mounts very easily and is, indeed, flush with the wall. I just wish they were clearer about what is included. ... show more

  • Easy and Tight Retrofit Install
I installed this behind a microwave mounted in an upper cabinet to gain a little extra room for the plug and stiff cord. It was an easy retrofit install and as a bonus was able to install on a stud--very tight install. The only complaint is that the tabs on right side of the receptacle box appear a bit flimsy have stood up to infrequent use. ... show more

  • Not really 2-gange compatible
I purchased this to install behind a wall mounted TV. I intended to install a surge protection outlet in the line voltage box (gang 1) and install a modular low-voltage plate for HDMI, ethernet, and audio connections. However this design is either/or not both. Low voltage wires can be pulled through 2 large holes in the top and bottom of box. It does come with part to mount a modular face plate but you can't install both. I didn't purchase the 3-gang because it would not fit between standard 16" on-center stud wall at 17" wide. The description is misleading. ... show more

  • Missing Parts
The product would have been fine, but it had been opened and was missing screws and pieces.

  • Arlington TVB713 Box Is Just As It Looks
Bought multiple of these for a commercial office project. The design makes it easy to get wires into the recessed box especially in thinner walls. The angle design allows room for connections without a lot of stress on the connector. Really like the recessed design and the fact that I can put internet, RG6 and HDMI in the same box along with the power. I was pleased with these boxes. I am not sure if they will look good in a residential application unless a TV is covering them. We put these up high on the wall for wall mounted TVs and they work nice in that application. If you were to put them in bedrooms without something covering them then they would be very noticiable and maybe even a sore spot in a room where a tv was not used. Overall very pleased with them. ... show more
