So I purchased this cord as a replacement to my outdoor extension cord to my block heater on my car. This cord ended up costing me my vehicle. I have plugged in my vehicle for years on an outdoor extension cord. I plugged my vehicle in with this cord and the second day of using it my vehicle caught on fire! UPDATE: Altho the first 50' black cord I bought was disappointing (see review below) the next 2 have been very good. I've used both of the new ones -- they coil well, and hang flat from hooks along the wall. Very pleased. Initial review: The first one of these heavy black extension cords that I bought was disappointing -- it kinked and curled badly. I laid it in the sun on the grass to soften it up, and then coiled it carefully, but it still kinked. I could feel that the inner wires were all running haywire inside the heavy plastic coating. There's no way it would ever coil smoothly, so I gave #1 away. It worked well enough, but I don't tolerate "fouled lines." I bought another exactly the same, and #2 is great. Softened up nicely in the warm sun, and it coils smoothly. It hangs flat against the wall, and is easy to uncoil and coil again neatly. I've bought a 3rd one as a spare, but haven't opened it yet. I'd better lay it out while the sun is still warm, and hang it in a neat coil. I'll update this review if it kinks and twists. ... show more

Needed the extension cord to trim some outside hedges. It is very sturdy and strong for the current needed for the trimmers. I wish I had got a longer one for I needed to few more feet to reach the end of my driveway. Will buy again.
