The quality check on this item is lacking. The mold for creating the box and plate is flawed and the finished product ends up rough. Ended up reordering and the second was was slightly better but still flawed. Ended up doing some filing and sanding on my own to correct the flaw. Keep that in mind when ordering these. ... show more

I was really dreading cutting into my brand new barn to mount lights but this box made it easy. The hole needed for them is about 4.5”x4.5”. The color isn’t bleach white but more of a gray white. It matched the white of my Morton building well.

These things are difficult to find - if you don't know what term to search for, even google has a hard time helping you out. My house was built in '91 and has these holding up the porch lights on the front/back of the house. The clips holding the front-piece to the back were busted on my existing kit which warranted the need for the new one. The new one was different than the original, so the difficulty with this piece was making it work. I was able to get it inside the siding and mounted to the studs with a few screws - but I had to drill holes in the outer plate to mount the porch light through it to the back plate. It's possible that this is how it was designed - some assembly required and all, but it wasn't very intuitive and the included instructions accounted for the best-case scenario only. But yes - definitely worked and with some outdoor caulk around the seams (to keep the stinkbugs out), looks good ... show more

This is a great product. Made from sturdy plastic, face place fits snuggly and the punchouts come out easily. I used it to mount a new Ring Cam Spotlight. I'd highly recommend this.
