I picked this hot water tank to use in our new outdoor shower. We just wanted something easy to connect and install to heat the shower water for a rinse off, after using the pool or spa. The 8 gallon capacity is enough for 2 washing showers or 4 rinse offs. I'm happy with the purchase. Follow up, the heater continues to trip the reset mode and turns off. You need to remove the front panel each time to reset the unit. My Amazon return window closed. Ariston customer service no longer sends replacement thermostats. After multiple phone calls and emails they are supposedly sending me a refund. I won't buy this unit again.

It's earth day and appropriately so I decided to weigh in on the reviews. I've had my Ariston 2.5 gallon water heater installed (I did this personally, big fan of DIY projects) for 4 mos. As an avid cook, I am constantly needing short bursts of hot water to rinse my hands, clean utensils, rinse wine glasses, etc. This is the solution. Never a better home improvement idea has been fulfilled that I can even compare to installing this water heater. Because this is a tank, it can provide water at a very low pressure/volume. The sort of low volume that would otherwise not trigger many tankless water heaters to start heating. More importantly, no more grief as you wait endlessly for the water to get hot. Most people aren't even aware that their dishwashers/washing machines are filling up with cold water (on the "HOT" water setting) because the water from the line is not hot yet and the machine will most likely be full by the time the water is hot. I have my tank connected to my incoming hot water line (from the tankless main unit outside my house) to my kitchen sink/dishwasher using a "T" adapter. I power both with a single outlet also with an adapter. The two can run simultaneously as I've discovered without tripping the breaker. This is truly a great product. It has performed flawlessly, it's compact and genuinely attractive. There's no noise while it's heating up the water and it maintains temperature really well. The other cool thing is that if I'm needing more than (2.5 gallons) what's in the tank, the refill water flowing into it (from my tankless main water heater) will be hot by then. Saves money and electricity, wear and tear, etc. Again, in my case, this unit serves as a flow through ('in line") source of hot water. Before purchasing this, I ran the sink until the water was adequately hot and discovered over two gallons of water went down the drain. In a kitchen, it's really common to require incremental and low volume hot water. Constantly waiting and wasting just to do a quick rinse of your hands is enough to justify adding this to your life. However, saving water and adding convenience is what sells it. Remember, this unit is not coming up to temperature gradually, it is storing water at a constant temperature. Whether you go this route or choose a mini point of use tankless unit, you get hot water instantaneously. It's a game changer. I've been so happy (and enlightened) with this that I've offered to install one for a relative who has the same water wasting set up. It's one way (as is this review to inspire people to get one of these) to pay forward wisdom that changes the planet for the better. Don't procrastinate. This will be one of the best decisions you'll make to add convenience to your otherwise crazy family life like mine. And you'll be patting yourself on the back wondering why you hadn't done this a long time ago. Best of luck!!!

This is a great little heater. My camper came with one installed when I purchased it 8 years ago. No telling when that one was bought. Mine stopped working, so I got a new one. It came with clear directions; easy to remove the old one and hook up this one to the already existing PEX piping, Watched several YouTube videos about this little heater before in stalling it myself. (female 73 yrs,) If one doesn't have the PEX piping, there are videos for that also. Mine lived a nice long productive life considering I have well water and did not know to flush it out once a year. It gives me instant hot steaming water at the sink, hot enough to make tea and instant coffee. I love it. I had the option to clean or replace the corroded heating rods, but considering the low price I simply replaced the entire heater.

Outstanding product and built with quality and performance. I was amazed how easy it was to install. Disconnect your hot water line to the sink faucet, then connect a line from the hot water line to the blue intake on the heater. Bring the faucet line over to the red output line and use teflon tape and do not over tighten using non compression lines. Put the unit on a waterproof tray and I seen many pictures of the pressure release valve and none used the existing water PVC tubing to run the pressure relief hose directly into the sink drain tubes. Easily purchased a (8” dishwasher branch baffled tailpiece) installed it directly to the sink drain with a plastic hose to the Ariston water heater pressure relief valve. Having knowledge of plumbing is very helpful in this installation. I never opened the installation manual. I did browse over the quick installation guide. If you feel this is not your forte then get someone with plumbing experience to help you. I give this a 5 star rating and the fact that when I turn on the the hot water, it is hot right away! No wasted water.

I have purchased many items from Amazon without issue but this has been the worse experience I have had. I purchased this water heater as we have a tankless water heater and wanted something to allow us to have hot water at kitchen faucet. I purchased this unit as it had good reviews, even though it was more expensive than an alternative unit. I received the unit and installed the unit and all the plumbing. The instructions are very clear that you need to have it full of water before you can turn on and operate the unit. The unit had many black marks on the unit despite being wrapped in stretch wrap and looked used but I assumed that was just from the manufacturing floor. After getting it all installed, I plugged it I discovered the unit did not work at all. I took the front end off as suggested in the manual and reset the high limit button and that did not help. The light did not come on and I still waited to see if the water would heat but it did not. I uninstalled the appliance, re-packed it for the return and ordered a replacement thinking I may have just recieved a bad unit which happens. I also used the "contact the manufacturer feature" within Amazon as well but never received a response. I received the replacement unit. This unit also had scuff marks on it but appeared to be in better shape. I installed the appliance completely, not wanting to damage the unit per the manual, and once again, was disappointed to find this unit also did not work. I have not installed and un-installed twice. At this point, I thought it would be important to contact the manufacturer per the instructions on the side of the unit. I was initially on hold for 30 minutes to get through to "customer service". At that point, the customer service person told me they would have to transfer me to "warranty". She said she saw there were three reps open so I would not be placed on hold. Then I was placed on hold. When I finally got through to this person, someone named Ricardo, I was asked for a ticket number which I do not have. I re-explained the situation. He then asked me to provide the serial number. I pulled back out the unit and found the serial number and provided it to him. Once I provided the serial number he said something like oh see this happens and became very agitated with me. He then "explained" to me that I was not their customer but I was Amazon's customer. He was very rude and interrupted me several times. All I wanted was a working water heater and do not think I am being unreasonable after having all the work of this issue being placed on the consumer. After 57 minutes of a phone call, as directed by them on the side of their unit, I was given a website to file a warranty claim. Do not waste your time and energy purchasing this device, trying to install and having to un-install. They obviously have some quality control issues on their end and do not support their products or stand by them at all. They are simply re-shipping out bad units they get back and blaming Amazon. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a working unit but it's a lot of installation work to go through for a gamble. I would expect if you buy a new unit, and pay the new unit price, you should expect to get a new working unit that the company stands behind. I've never been told by a customer service department that I am not their customer. This was a complete waste of my time and effort.

This is a bit of a mixed review. The unit is relatively easy to install and works off 120VAC, which makes it very versatile. Hot water is almost instant and very hot. The downside is that my unit started leaking after 2 years and three months, and required replacement. The good news is that Aniston has a 6-year warranty. I contacted Customer Service and after filling out the required forms and sending in photos, they offered to either replace the unit or refund for "wholesale" value. Because I had already replaced the leaking unit (with the same product) I opted for the refund which was about 80% of what I had originally paid. So, overall, given the affordable price of this unit and the fact that Aniston does a great job honoring their warranty, I would (and did) buy this unit again. Just be aware that you may need to replace the unit every couple of years.

I purchased this unit so we would have heated water at our hunting camp. Best money I've spent in a long time. The unit was ultra easy to install on the enclosed wall bracket, plugged into a 120 volt outlet, hooked up the incoming cold water line and added a hot line to the sink, and we were done. Hot water is readily available in minutes. We added a couple unions on the connecting nipples to make it easier to disconnect the entire unit and empty it for the winter............worked really slick. Since this will have to be done annually, the unions reduce the stress of using wrenches/pliers directly on the nipples and possibly causing damage over the ensuing years. The adjustable thermostat is a plus so we can set the temp on warm for most of the day and kick it up for high use periods. I also installed a wall switch for the 120 outlet, which makes it convenient to kill the power to the unit when we are going to be gone for an extended time, but don't have to worry about freezing temps. Definitely reflects quality workmanship and engineering, and the really reasonable price was a bonus. I would definitely buy again.

I needed a water heater or my ADU and did a bunch of research about the types, sizes etc. I came across this product ans was very hesitant since it was only 8 gallon and I wasn't sure if this would sure if it would be enough for the sink and shower. I decided to try it since it was literally my only option. The product works great, I get hot water instantly and since it was installed next to the sink and shower, there is no time delay for water to get from the tank to the sink or shower. On average, it starts running out of hot water abut 7-8 minutes into a shower but that is a long shower and this way, I am forced to save water. If I use the sink, I may need to wait about 10 minutes for the tank to fill up and heat up again but I have had it a little over a year now and I love it!
