  • Verry good.

I’ve noticed that my Bosch combi boiler is leaking a significant amount of water. To address this issue, I am currently gathering estimates for a replacement, but I want to take my time to find the best price. In the meantime, I have decided to purchase a small boiler for the sinks to ensure I have hot water while I resolve the problem with the central boiler. I bought one of these small boilers for the kitchen, and as a 55-year-old woman, I found the installation to be straightforward. I had to disconnect and cap the hot and split the cold water. I used regular 1/2 hoses and a T with nipples. I also installed an APEC Ultra High Capacity Under Sink Water Filtration System Plus Scale Inhibitor - Premium Quality US Made Filter (CS-2500P) before the split, so my mini-boiler will benefit from it. ... show more

  • Buy the service valves!!
Style: 4 Gallon
Before it would take me 1.5mins to get hot water to my kitchen sink. I replaced the lines running into my kitchen from steel galvanized lines (due to the rust in the lines getting in my drinking water) to PEX B (the crimp kind of pex, not the expanding Pex A). In the process I decided it would be a good ideal to perhaps look into this type of setup instead of waiting the 1.5mins to get my hot water at the kitchen sink. I researched the amount of water my dishwasher would need and which unit would be sufficient for my application. I then removed BOTH steel lines into my kitchen and ran 1 cold water line. I then put a Tee in the cold water line in which 1 runs to my cold water faucet connection and the other runs into this unit. Then I plumbed my hot water off the heater to the fixtures via a 1/4 turn valve to pex B end. THIS IS BY FAR the best upgrade I have ever made to my home in a LONG time. Why didn't I do this sooner?! The 4 gallon version I got works wonderful for the dishwasher and it only needs 110v/120v of AC power. Since I ran the Tee on the cold water coming in, I should have ran 3/4" Pex B, but I can do that in the future (if needed). Notes of installation: 1. The outlets on the heater cold and hot side are 1/2" so to run the service valves I had to buy a brass adaptor to convert to 3/4" (brass adapter I purchased, but would be better to use PVC between the different metals https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0823NKRX3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share 2. BUY THESE SERVICE VALVES: HYDRO MASTER Tankless Water Heater Service Valve Kit with Pressure Relief Valve 3/4-Inch IPS Isolator Clean Brass https://a.co/d/6iY91Jt I've saw TONS OF PEOPLE complaining they have to remove the tank to drain it, buy these valves and you won't have to do that! C'mon people! 3. DO NOT plug this unit into the same plug-in under your sink as your dishwasher. The load is too much to run both and is a fire hazard!! I ran a dedicated 20amp circuit from my main panel to a GFCI plugin (required by code and good idea since it lives under the sink and water can make contact to it)! Do NOT skip this step! 12-2 Romex is rated for 20amp and assuming you are not running at 100' AND this is the only draw to the circuit, then you should be good to go. 4. Remember to flush the heater 1-2 times a year using the above mentioned service ports. YouTube has plenty of videos on what you need. 5. I hope this helps you to settle the debate on which one to buy, this or the Bosch one (that I passed on due to mixed reviews) 6. A cheap $1.25 Dollar Tree holiday ham/turkey foil pan fits under it nicely ... show more

  • Do not buy-2 different tanks did not work; installed and un-installed - support was extremely rude
Style: 2.5 Gallon
I have purchased many items from Amazon without issue but this has been the worse experience I have had. I purchased this water heater as we have a tankless water heater and wanted something to allow us to have hot water at kitchen faucet. I purchased this unit as it had good reviews, even though it was more expensive than an alternative unit. I received the unit and installed the unit and all the plumbing. The instructions are very clear that you need to have it full of water before you can turn on and operate the unit. The unit had many black marks on the unit despite being wrapped in stretch wrap and looked used but I assumed that was just from the manufacturing floor. After getting it all installed, I plugged it I discovered the unit did not work at all. I took the front end off as suggested in the manual and reset the high limit button and that did not help. The light did not come on and I still waited to see if the water would heat but it did not. I uninstalled the appliance, re-packed it for the return and ordered a replacement thinking I may have just recieved a bad unit which happens. I also used the "contact the manufacturer feature" within Amazon as well but never received a response. I received the replacement unit. This unit also had scuff marks on it but appeared to be in better shape. I installed the appliance completely, not wanting to damage the unit per the manual, and once again, was disappointed to find this unit also did not work. I have not installed and un-installed twice. At this point, I thought it would be important to contact the manufacturer per the instructions on the side of the unit. I was initially on hold for 30 minutes to get through to "customer service". At that point, the customer service person told me they would have to transfer me to "warranty". She said she saw there were three reps open so I would not be placed on hold. Then I was placed on hold. When I finally got through to this person, someone named Ricardo, I was asked for a ticket number which I do not have. I re-explained the situation. He then asked me to provide the serial number. I pulled back out the unit and found the serial number and provided it to him. Once I provided the serial number he said something like oh see this happens and became very agitated with me. He then "explained" to me that I was not their customer but I was Amazon's customer. He was very rude and interrupted me several times. All I wanted was a working water heater and do not think I am being unreasonable after having all the work of this issue being placed on the consumer. After 57 minutes of a phone call, as directed by them on the side of their unit, I was given a website to file a warranty claim. Do not waste your time and energy purchasing this device, trying to install and having to un-install. They obviously have some quality control issues on their end and do not support their products or stand by them at all. They are simply re-shipping out bad units they get back and blaming Amazon. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a working unit but it's a lot of installation work to go through for a gamble. I would expect if you buy a new unit, and pay the new unit price, you should expect to get a new working unit that the company stands behind. I've never been told by a customer service department that I am not their customer. This was a complete waste of my time and effort. ... show more

  • Fast and easy installation (once we had it planned out!).
Style: 4 Gallon
This heater was installed about 6' away from the kitchen sink (through a wall, in the laundry room). We made sure it was easily accessable for future service (note that others have reported needing to change out the heating element about every 12 months or so). We used braided water lines (washing machine style) and various adaptors to make it all fit watertight. Unit has changed our lives--we have hot water in 6 seconds at the kitchen sink now, excellent for washing that knife, or your hands, while you cook. Previously, hot water took almost 60 seconds from heater to sink. Great concept, clean install, very reasonable price. We will see how long it lasts! ... show more
