First off let me just say that no boot is completely waterproof, unless they're rubber. I don't know what I expected from these, something a bit different in terms of lace ups. Waterproofing failed within the first two weeks of wearing them at work. They create pinch points on the sides of your heels that are incredibly annoying when you're on you're feet for twelve hours a day. The only positive thing i have to say about them is that they give you good ankle support. I usually buy thorogood wedge soles, but wanted to try something new. I'll be sticking with thorogoods from now on, you can keep this garbage. ... show more

First of all, most of the reviews say they have issues with the size. I ordered at my normal size and they fit perfect. I could have actually gone up a half size in case I wanted to wear really thick Alpaca socks. Second, they are pretty comfortable out of the box. They will need some breaking in but after wearing them at work for a couple days I'm pretty happy with the comfort so far. Third, the BOA laces are the way to go. Tightens on the right spots and being able to adjust them on the fly is very convenient. I'll be back to update as needed, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy them if I was you. EDIT: My BOA lace on one of the boots broke 7 months in. I am currently working with Ariat to see if they will warranty them. But be cautious if you use these as daily boots, the cable may break sooner than expected. ... show more

Okay to start off this is the exact boot design I've wanted and had in my head for years being a snowboarder and electrical contractor and journeyman. Excited is an understatement when they came out. I used the laced/side zip and pull on versions of square toe Ariat's and these BOA's are my favorite look and feel. With that being said I've broken the BOA wire 3 different times and while it's a free replacement it sucks having to finish the day with zip tied or electrical taped boots. The stitches usually separate at about a year because of mud but this time I made sure to use clear gorilla glue as soon as it started coming apart so I should get 2+ years out of these. The other complaint is the wire kind of kinks at the bends (also where it breaks) and doesn't allow it to tighten each side evenly but I guess it still works. ... show more

I love the BOA LACE system quick easy and comfortable, I work in Comercial Grading and Utilities and these boots check all the boxes for me, quick easy to slip on twist the knob and head out. I will definitely be getting an additional pair.
