This package includes both a HD pan tilt indoor camera and a 5" screen portable battery powered monitor. The camera and monitor talk to each other with "wifi Halo" and are pared out of the box, so do not require any other networking. However, the camera also supports 2.4 Ghz wifi, so you can add it to your home network and then access the camera using the Arenti app on your cell phone (from anywhere that has network access). [You can also turn off wifi access entirely if you want to make sure that only the hardware console can view the camera feed.] If you attach the camera to wifi, it will download a firmware update, and then also pass a firmware update along to the monitor. And, there are some functions that you can ONLY access by using the Arenti app on your cell phone. Most specifically, turning on "motion tracking" or inverting the view of the camera if you ceiling mount it. Both the camera and the monitor have slots for MicroSD cards (but you must supply your own cards). The camera will record motion events to an installed MicroSD card, and the hand held baby monitor can record photos or videos from the streaming feed if you push the record button onto it's microSD card. The monitor includes extra baby features like the ability to set a feeding reminder schedule, play music or white noise through the speaker on the camera, and receive alerts if motion or noise is detected. The camera has good night vision (black & white) for low light rooms and the HD resolution is plenty good for a baby monitor (or security camera). If you turn of the "sleep mode" and turn the monitor screen brightness all the way up, it will run continuously for 4 hours and 25 minutes. [You would get a lot longer life if you used the sleep mode or didn't use the screen at full brightness.] The wifiHalo range was able to go all the way from one end of my house through 3 concrete block walls to the other end. I was also able to access the camera feed from outside my house about 100 feet away through a single concrete block wall, so unless you have an exceptionally large house, I believe it will work for you. [If you have the camera set up on wifi, you can access the video feed from your cell phone anywhere that has internet/data service.] The Aventi phone app is one of my favorite for accessing wifi cameras (and I've tested several). It has all of the features I'd expect, and only nags you to upgrade to a cloud recording plan a little bit. If you plug a microSD card into the camera, you can download videos of past motion events directly from it using the app. The user experience and functionality was very good, and I recommend this product.

This ARENTI video baby monitor has been a helpful setup for us, especially now that my 3-year-old grandson has moved to a toddler bed. He’s still learning the ropes of staying in bed all night, and this monitor lets us keep an eye on him without needing to constantly check in. The video and audio are clear, and the features like temperature sensor and night vision are great for ensuring he’s safe and sound. It’s a straightforward tool that gives us peace of mind.

One of the things I appreciate the most about this is the fact that you can use the camera and monitor without anything else. You don't need a wifi router or create an account. You can just plug in the camera, and turn on the monitor. That's it. Super simple, super secure. The range seems very good. It says 200M. My house isn't big enough to test that range. But I was able to set the camera in one room, on my second floor and view the image without distortion on the opposite end of the house on the first floor. So, it goes through walls and floors without losing the signal. There are two SD card slots. One in the camera, and one in the monitor. I believe, but I can't confirm, the SD slot in the camera is used when the camera is setup to use the phone app. Since I didn't use the phone ap, I can't confirm that purpose. I did use the monitor, and I used the SD card in the monitor. It works well allowing you to save video and pictures. The audio quality is very good. You can actually hear very quiet sounds. The sounds the camera can make are pretty good to. The lullabies are actually pretty soothing and the white noise seems like a good quality. I'm impressed with this set and would recommend it to anyone needing to monitor a baby, or mobility challenged adult.
