you might as well throw a blanket on your floor. this is nothing like a rug. it’s soft, yes, but when you walk it scrunches up, it will not stay flat at all. Really really disappointing

I have been looking for an affordable room-sized washable rug for some time now, and am delighted to find this one. Here's some things I learned in my search: 1. This type of rug is printed on. Some of the rugs I looked at had comical details in the larger size, where the company had just enlarged the print from a smaller rug to make the larger rug. 2. The colors for this type of rug often seem to be inconsistent. You can see folks complain sometimes when they ordered two of what should be "the same rug". 3. The binding varies for makers and rug styles. 4. Not all washable rugs have slip protection (you might need a nonslip rug pad) 5. Higher pile washable rugs are more comfortable under foot, but because the design is printed, there tends to be a lot of white underneath. In the rugs I looked at, this meant that the rug looked paler than it might when I first got it, but the white became much more apparent after a washing. 6. It's hard to determine the size of rug that will actually fit in your washing machine. I got the blue/brown rug here. For me: 1. The colors are different from what I understood from the photo, but they're fine for my needs. The blue is more blue and less teal than it looks in the photo, and the brown is reddish. (Now that I think about it, that potentially means that this rug was meant to have more yellow than what I got.) See point 2... this doesn't mean that the rug you get will be blue/maroon instead of teal/brown. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2. The rug is quite soft, in the velvety sense, but of course not in the puffy sense. You could add a rug pad to make it more, well, padded. 3. I don't like that the color of the binding on this doesn't quite match the rug, but I expected that going in. I do prefer this style of overlock binding for this type of rug. 4. This has the anti-slip material on the back, as expected. 5. This rug (in the 9x12 size that I got) is 36 pounds. It's highly unlikely that you can wash this in your home machine. In searching for a rug, I went back and forth about how important this was to me. I have XL washing machines, and for some rugs, I could have washed an 8x10, but not a 9x12. I decided I really wanted the larger size. 6. Comes in a zippered bag. I guess you could fold it up again and store it? I'm not expecting to ever do that, so I'll probably discard the bag, but it's a nice touch. Could also make this better as a gift, if somehow you're going to gift someone a rug. Note: I just noticed that the product listing currently says .36 lbs for the 9x12 size. This was heavier than other 9x12 rugs I tried (based on carrying the box into the house, not actually weighing it), so 36lbs might be correct. But the listing currently says the same for 8x10, and that's surely wrong. (If 36lbs is correct for the 9x12, you might expect the 8x10 to be 27lbs... I just did the math. And you might expect 5x7 to be about 12lbs.) I can't be sure about 36lbs since things are obviously wrong, but it does seem to be heavier than other similar rugs, and who knows, but that might be good for durability. Again, I'm not going to even try to wash this in my own machines. But as I was searching, it seemed likely that I could get an 8x10 and then use my own machine. Be sure to check the capacity of your machine if you're contemplating this. The price point was right for me to give a washable rug a try (tired of the dirt and damage dogs cause), and I am quite pleased with this one after quite a bit of searching.

Shipping was fast, and the rug was beautiful and surprisingly soft. I actually bought this for my dining room, but I didn't measure it properly, and it was too big for the room, so we put it in our bedroom. I gave it a four star because it is hard to vacuum....it's very thin, so it sucks up in the vacuum, no matter what height you have the vacuum set at. I figured the best way was to sweep it with a broom and then vacuum my carpet. Overall, it's very soft for our bedroom, and it compliments the room. The creases/folds lay flat after a couple of days.

This rug arrived today and I love it! It is really soft and velvety. It is laying pretty flat after only an hour or so. I love the pattern, it is subtle and beautiful. I ordered it in beige/brown and the colors look really nice in my house. It has off whites, shades of brown, light blue, and a little gray. The browns range from warmer golden tan and light rusty brown to cooler taupe tones. Overall the effect is very balanced and neutral. I don’t know how this will look after washing, we’ll see. I highly recommend this rug.
