  • This compressor rocks as compared to my old Viair
Size: Portable
I replaced my VIAIR 300P with the new ARB CKBLP12 Brushless Air Portable Compressor and just completed my first test. Here are my impressions: Test Setup • Tires: Michelin Defender LTX M/S (285/60R18, OEM size for Toyota Land Cruiser) • Fill time: Took my tires from 18 psi to 33 psi in under a minute. I didn’t have an inline gauge, so I filled in short bursts and checked pressure manually. • Power draw: Running off my second 55Ah Odyssey group 35 battery, it pulled about 40A / 400W. Voltage dropped from 12.3V no-load to around 10V under load, with the engine off and the battery not charging. What I Loved • Exceptionally flexible hose: Even in cold weather, it stays soft and easy to maneuver. Reaching the rear tires or my travel trailer is no longer a struggle. This is a huge improvement over the stiff coil hose on the VIAIR. • Clamp-on Schrader fitting: No need to hold the chuck during longer fills—just snap it on and let it run. • True 100% duty cycle: Works just like a small shop compressor. It runs until it hits pressure and then shuts off. I can also use my existing shop hoses and air chucks, which is a great bonus. You could also use a pistol grip/gauge inflator like a Milton, • Anderson SB-50 power connector at the compressor: It comes with battery clamps that allow you to forget about +/- as it figures it out. Just clamp onto the battery any way you want. The SB-50 is even more useful for my setup since I already have SB-50 ports inside the truck and on the rear bumper. I can use my existing SB-50 DC extension cables so no more popping the hood just to power a compressor. • Heavy duty carrying case: I can toss this in the truck and not worry about losing or damaging anything. Overall: Fast, convenient, and thoughtfully designed. This is a major upgrade over the VIAIR in both performance and usability. ... show more

  • For the cost it should be perfect…it’s not
Size: Portable
The inflation performance is impressive. It can be a little finicky. It has an auto shut off feature and a few times it has failed to start up when I press the chuck to call for air. Taking the chuck off and putting back on solves it. Annoying for a compressor this expensive.
