One small tablet in a smart water bottle, shake, wait 30 min and drink. Worked perfectly for my recent hike, using stream water and springs for sources. My approach was to clean the water in one bottle while drinking from a 2nd, so the 30 min wait was not an issue. The taste was fine = just a minor chlorine smell and taste that is not much different than many city water supplies (better than the iodine based solutions). Great for hiking due to almost weightless and can clean many liters, but also a good item to have for emergencies when you cannot trust the water supply.

These tablets come in a foil pack so you’re not wasting a whole bottle once you open it, plus these only take a quick 30 minutes to work. I find no taste difference in the water. Works great in my opinion.

I bought these for a trip thru France/Italy/Switzerland and expected I would be drinking alot of mountain stream water. After getting there, started using them for my water bladder purification. Since I had no way to know whether the water was safe to drink in the countryside, I popped a couple into my water bladder per the instructions and waited. Sure enough, the water did not taste horrible at all. The tabs make the water taste.."purified" just like the bottles you buy in the store. I did however notice others drinking from the stream without treating their water and they never had any gastro issues. Were the tabs needed? I don't know but I used them and they were totally fine. I also live in Florida, so any treated water tastes better than our tap water!!!

Prepper that needed more than hydrogen peroxide to provide safe drinking water. Have not tried it out but keeping it for that “emergency.” Just glad I have it. Also good for the hiking if I need it.
