Got this for my 23' Tacoma. It appears high quality, fits perfectly, it is lightweight, the install was easy and the ease of open/close and roll up makes it incredibly convenient and efficient. If you take your time, you can get it to fit so that it is near waterproof. So far, over the course of a year, it has proven to be tough, weather resilient, durable with no signs of wear/tear, and far more practical than the trip-folds on the market. I love the fact that I can roll it up and have the full capacity of the bed available in a matter of seconds. Is it as secure as a hard cover? No, of course not, it is vinyl. I did read all of the reviews before I bought this for my 2023 Tacoma Sport, short bed. It took me a several hours to install and everything went well, and I really love the end result look. I waited for a good rain to see how well it sealed and found that it leaked very little near the tailgate, but to be honest, I did not expect perfection, so I was very happy with how well it kept the water out. The directions could use some updating due to some of the differences between the directions and what was needed for my truck, but I did get it properly installed and I was impressed with the installation design which made it super easy to figure out and install. No cutting or drilling was needed except for the 2 drainage holes near the cab end of the bed. I used a step drill bit, then sealed around the hose once installed. I have used the cover in the various open positions and every position worked very well while driving at freeway speeds. I love the way it's designed to lock when the tailgate is locked. I also installed a tailgate extender and both the tailgate extender and cover worked well together. (They don't interfere with each other) I started to give this a 4-star due to the directions needing up dating, but due to the design being so easy to figure out what the directions lacked, I changed it to a 5-star. 4/13/22 - Initial review - seems to be a good roll up cover for the price. Parts seem to be reasonably well made, vinyl seems durable and appearance is as expected. The only other cover I’ve owned was a soft tri-fold , so my perspective on ease of installation is limited. That said, the tri-fold was 1000 times easier to install. Clamps front & rear made it a 5 minute job. This cover, however, required the removal of the truck’s bulkhead rail, 6 individual screw on the factory bed rails, 12 screws to secure the side rails, 2 tension blocks and 2 header bolts to secure the entire structure to the frame. Given the so-so instructions and my perfectionist approach, the process took about 2 hours total. The manufacturer could replace all the side rail hardware with simple clamps to make this process much smoother & faster. Despite the foam seals near the bulkhead, there are still a few gaps for water to enter through. This is Toyota’s fault, not Gator’s. These are easily filled with foam molding stuffed into the gaps with a screwdriver. All in all, I’m happy with the bang for my buck initially. Installation was more difficult than it needed to be but the end result seems to be a good cover at a great price. I’ll update this review if anything changes as I put the cover through its paces. ... show more

Gator covers are one of the best bang for the buck. Install was a breeze (two people make it simpler but can be done by one). Yes it leaks a little but they all do. Sturdy construction, well builg.

Overall a great product, it was not as easy to install as I thought. There is no videos on how to instal it on a Tacoma, at least not that I could find for THIS specific model. It states all the tool you need are included but you do need some tools to take off the back part of bed rail to make it waterproof and a socket wrench you will need a 3/4 and 1/2 I believe. Due to the confusing instructions that came in the package it took me a while to completely install it. Also after installation it was really hard to close the cover the first time, made me think I had installed it incorrectly lol. Took two people to close it, but it was just the first time. Other than that it is a great cover, great for the price. Waterproof seal isn’t 100% but it’s just the tiniest bit of water that get in so I got no issues yet. It looks great. I love it Just get all the tools you need first, confusing instructions but overall it’s really good I love it ... show more
