Description

SolarPill 2 3/4". The majority of daily heat loss is due to evaporation. AquaPill SolarPill minimizes heat loss by forming a harmless, ultra-thin, invisible barrier on the water's surface to reduce evaporation. Its patented delivery system gradually releases the formula into the filtration system to allow for optimum coverage. SolarPill can be used with ALL types of sanitizers.

It certainly is more convenient and easier to use and also eliminates the need to store the solar blanket during the summer season. I'm not sure that this makes a difference but since we've put it in, our pool hasn't gone below 72 degrees and it's been rather cold here in for the beginning of the summer. I think the actually solar cover is probably better, but to save myself from having to deal with putting that on and off, I'll spend the money and get these. ... show more

This Aquapill exploded during shipping. When I took it out of the box it leaked chemicals all over my kitchen. I threw it away because I didn’t want to make a larger mess by putting it in my car to return it somewhere. But now I cannot get a replacement, or a refund because I no longer have the item! I took photos before I threw it away but in order to receive a refund you have to return the item. So I would have leaked more chemicals all over my car and the poor person at kohls!? Followed the directions to the T. And I still lost just as much water as I did before I put it in. I see it as you get what you pay for in buying something you take a chance on and buying an actual cover. I’ve had this pill in my skimmer (like the directions say) for about a week. I popped the seal with the tool provided like the directions say. This pill is still full of liquid. It doesn’t want to come out of the pill. At first I thought maybe it was full of pool water so I tried to shake it out to see. Nope. Out came yellow goop. In the mean time, we’ve seen record breaking highs and no rain so the evaporation rate of the pool water has not improved in the least. Maybe if the goop would come out, the product would work. I was on the fence about trying this product. We have always used a solar cover on our pool. We live near Chicago so we have to maintain pool temps as best we can so that we are able to use the pool. We opened our pool last week and the water was a chilly 64 degrees. I threw the SolarPill in and a week later the water temp is already up to 78. I am a big believer in this product.
