I found the Solar Pill to keep the water warmer and lower the amount of evaporation but it was not as effective as a solar blanket. It certainly is more convenient and easier to use and also eliminates the need to store the solar blanket during the summer season. Since the solar blankets I have used last only about 2-3 ears before drying out the Solar Pill cost comes out to be almost the same.

I'm not sure that this makes a difference but since we've put it in, our pool hasn't gone below 72 degrees and it's been rather cold here in for the beginning of the summer. I think the actually solar cover is probably better, but to save myself from having to deal with putting that on and off, I'll spend the money and get these.

This Aquapill exploded during shipping. When I took it out of the box it leaked chemicals all over my kitchen. I threw it away because I didn’t want to make a larger mess by putting it in my car to return it somewhere. But now I cannot get a replacement, or a refund because I no longer have the item! I took photos before I threw it away but in order to receive a refund you have to return the item. So I would have leaked more chemicals all over my car and the poor person at kohls!? That is outrageous to me. I just want what I paid for!

Followed the directions to the T. And I still lost just as much water as I did before I put it in. I see it as you get what you pay for in buying something you take a chance on and buying an actual cover. I gave it 2 stars because delivery was fast as always and it came as described with easy to follow instructions. It just didn't work for our southern Texas pool.

I’ve had this pill in my skimmer (like the directions say) for about a week. I popped the seal with the tool provided like the directions say. This pill is still full of liquid. It doesn’t want to come out of the pill. At first I thought maybe it was full of pool water so I tried to shake it out to see. Nope. Out came yellow goop. In the mean time, we’ve seen record breaking highs and no rain so the evaporation rate of the pool water has not improved in the least. Maybe if the goop would come out, the product would work. Who knows? Certainly not me.

I was on the fence about trying this product. We have always used a solar cover on our pool. We live near Chicago so we have to maintain pool temps as best we can so that we are able to use the pool. We opened our pool last week and the water was a chilly 64 degrees. I threw the SolarPill in and a week later the water temp is already up to 78. I am a big believer in this product. Thanks for saving me the hassle of moving our solar cover on and off!!

All this solar pill did was gum up my pump my filter the lines and made my pool nasty it took us a new pump and new set of filters even after draining and scrubbing the pool to get rid of all the stuff from this so-called solar pill. It's a great idea it sounds great but the pill itself was a disaster.
