Features

  • Aquarium Safe - 100% natural
  • Promotes good bacteria growth because of its large surface area
  • Contrasts well with a planted tank
  • Great for Aquatic Plants

Description

Quartz Gravel is the Rolls-Royce of our range. Natural Quartz not only looks wonderful but has also been shown to help reduce the build up in the aquarium. This is partly due to the huge surface area of quartz which offers added space for the establishment of tank cleaning bacteria. Quartz sparkles underwater due to the many light reflecting facets and is a striking substrate that contrasts well with aquarium plants such as anubias and amazon swords.

  • Good
Just what I needed. Looks cool in tank with my plants. Just lets out a lot of color first few days but filter is helpful and mostly settled after about 4-5 days

  • Excellent rocks
What can I say? These are tiny black rocks for your aquarium. They look nice. Probably should have bought 2 bags for a 10 gal but I am not putting real plants in it, so I'm probably fine.

  • Beautiful coarse sand
This is not fine sand nor is it small gravel. It's large sand. It is pretty easy to work with unlike sand and is easy on the bottom dwellers unlike gravel. Naturally colored it will bleed out a little while preparing. I did several rinses and soaks over 2 days before putting in the tank. It sparkles under the light but with no glare. vacuums pretty easily, you will get some up the tube but just let it sink to the bottom of the bucket, pour out and pinch it back into the tank. Simples. Would re-order again. This is the only thing IMO that competes with Carib Sea Supernaturals Peace River which is the perfect substrate in all situations. Just hard to fine and boring in color. ... show more

  • Pretty standard gravel
It’s a little dusty, but it’s gravel, works great mixed with fluorite for live plants. Not really much else to say. Small rocks, sink in water.

  • Not all black
There are a lot of brown in it and and my betta tried to eat the brown thinking it was food as it so small. He did spit it out but worried that he may actually eat one. It’s okay and looks normal very just not what I expected. It did not have a lot of residue rinses was quick. Issue is it’s not all black not sure if it’s coated in black or if it’s natural material that is black. ... show more

  • Made my betta fish very sick
Within 12hr he went from being a very active fish to sittinf at the bottom of the tank went to petsmart for new rocks and hopefully he will be better soon back to the same rocks he used to have … Update 24hr later and my fish is almost dead! I changed back to the old rocks but it leached chemicals into the water or something bc he is NOT right! I have had this fish for 6m he is VERY active have had many water changes & this it the first time I used new rocks & boom he is sick and almost dead! Only difference! If you have a betta fish or want to keep any fish alive DO NOT BUY ! Even if i for a one off ! It should NEVER happen! My fish is suffering right now! And there’s nothing I can do I already changed the water whatever the sand did did something to him though! ... show more
