I love the brand, hated the color. It's not dark purple, it's bright pink purple. Other than that this brand has the best gravel. I sent it back, because the color was ugly.

When I washed this before use, I didn't get a lot of paint chips or discolored water. I have been using them for about 6 months and they have not faded or bled color. The purple color is great with my purple and white bette.

    • A word of caution for future buyers of this product ...
A word of caution for future buyers of this product: this gravel contains metal, glass and pebbles made from plaster. All of these items are painted to match the rest of the actual gravel. The only way that i detected these is through cleaning the gravel when cleaning the tank. The glass and metal pieces don't seem to affect the tank but the plaster pieces break down in the tank leaving behind nothing but the paint which could being ingested by the bottom feeding fish, I would not suggest this brand to any friends or family. ... show more
