Update 1/9/21: I reached out to the company by email on 1/7/21. I received a reply only a few hours later, and they willingly sent a replacement set of filters for free (no need to mail the faulty filters back). The new filters arrived today (1/9/21), only 1 day after being shipped. The new filters installed without any problems and they work perfectly (good water pressure). I'm increasing my review from 1 star to 4 stars; docking them one star for the initial faulty filters, but increasing to 4 stars because of their prompt and excellent customer service and replacing the bad product gratis with a functioning product. I would order these again. Tips about installation: 1) It may seem obvious, but remember to shut off your cold water valve first. 2) Open the faucet all the way to release pressure. (Keep it open.) 3) Remove old filters. (Have a rag ready to catch drips.) 4) Screw on new filters (we write the date of installation on the filters). 5) Keeping the faucet open, turn the cold water back on. You'll hear gurgling sounds while the filter first processes the water, and you'll see blackish water come out of the faucet from loose carbon. 6) Run the water on high for about 5 minutes to clear out the carbon. You should be set to go after that! Original Review 1/7/21: I've always been the person in our family who replaces the water filters. I couldn't find GE's FQSVF filters anywhere, so I bought these based on reviews and the supposed compatibility with FQSVF filters. They arrived promptly, and they look identical in size and shape to the GE filters, so I didn't hesitate to install them. However, after screwing on both filters (being sure to turn off water and open the faucet valve to release pressure first, and then turning the water on again; also, I didn't overtighten them or not tighten them enough), I was very startled when the "in" side of the filter EXPLODED off the filter system, literally. I screamed, scaring my kids, then tried again. Same thing. AH! So scary. I risked my life trying one more time, and somehow the stars aligned for the filters to stay on without exploding off the filter system. BUT, then the water only drizzled out of the faucet. With the GE filters, we had a good, strong flow with good pressure. These are awful. I put the old GE ones back on, and they work perfectly. No exploding off the filter and good water pressure. I don't know what's wrong with these filters. My father-in-law has been trying for over an hour to see if he can get the new ones to work. If he comes up with a magical solution, I'll update my review. I plan to contact the company to ask their opinion, and if they don't have a grand solution, I'll be asking for a refund on this product. ... show more
