They work wonderfully, the pletted bigger surface area is key to a longer lasting filter. I actually wash them out one time to reuse in my 1st & 2nd filter which can go in the house and outside. I have a 4 filter system and use new ones in the last two filters that go into the house's drinking water. I have tested several types of filters and these out perform them all, price and longer lasting. All my canisters are clear so I can see them because I can only get from 3 days to 3 weeks before I need to change them. I bet most people would get up to 6 months easily with these filters.

Way better than those fiber 1-micron filters, without the rubber gaskets. The standard cartridge is the way to go. I use this in my countertop filter with another filter, coconut cartridge.
