  • Good quality heater
Size: 500W (for 66-135 gallon)
This is a good heater if you have a big aquarium. I love the controls that hang on the outside of the aquarium, and that it tells you how warm the water at that spot actually is. I had mine at the opposite end of the tank from the heater, and it made me aware of the fact that I needed a powerhead to circulate the water in my tank. ... show more

  • Very awesome, but be careful
Size: 300W (for 80-95 gallon)
This product was the best, longest working aquarium heater I've had yet. I purchased it in 2021, and it never failed me until the end. A few days ago I came home and smelled something electrical burning. Turns out it was this heater. The control box was fried. However, I do not fault the heater as about 3 weeks ago I had over filled the tank and all my electrical got wet. But it did not electrocute my tank at all when it failed. Buying another right now. ... show more

  • Great heater with simple, easy to access controls
Size: 100W (for 25-35 gallon)
This is a powerful heater that holds temperature very well. Compared to my marina 100w heater in the photo, it does look rather bulky, but it blends in just fine in my cichlid tank. When I first plugged in the heater, my current temp readout was at 76f and I set it to 80f. It took about an hour to reach 80f, which is fairly quick. My marina heater takes a few hours. The temperature has been holding all day, even in a colder room. My room temp at the moment is 70f, with the window slightly cracked open and the tank is about 3 feet from the window. It kicks in when it's 1 degree lower, which is more ideal for those with sensitive livestock. Some heaters don't kick in until the temp is down to 5f lower than your desired setting! You don't have to worry about wide temperature swings with this unit. I appreciate the exterior temp readout and control module. It comes with a hanging kit and can be secured on the edge of the tank. It does take a few presses to get to your desired setting, because there's only one button. It just cycles through to 93f and starts over. Pressing and holding the button for 5 seconds changes it from F to C readouts. The suction cups are very good quality and didn't give me any trouble, but time will tell. Another thing I appreciate is that it has a memory setting in case the power goes out. I tested it by unplugging and replugging it. The setting always stayed the same. This gives me peace of mind. The only thing I do not like about the exterior module is that it can be easily accessed by kids... and kids love pushing all sorts of buttons... But I am single and don't have to worry about this.. Just be careful and keep an eye on your temp settings when you have kids over! Or better yet, conceal it to the back corner. It does blend well in some setups and may look bulky in others. This is something to consider. Personally for me the housing doesn't bother me. I'm not a big fan of the big glass tubes. My yellow lab cichlids are too big to fit in the slots, so I don't have to worry about any misadventure. I will keep testing this throughout the upcoming season and will update on any changes. ... show more

  • A Really GREAT Heater
Size: 500W (for 66-135 gallon)
Easy to set up and maintains a constant temperature. No long wires are needed and it takes up very little room on the side of the aquarium.

  • Heater was cooking our fish alive when I discovered it.
Size: 300W (for 80-95 gallon)
We had it set to 82 degrees for our Discus. Today, I noticed the fish were in distress. I reached into the aquarium and the water was way too warm. Checked the heater, it was set to 82 as it should be, but it showed the temperature as 90 degrees, and it would not shut off, it just kept cooking them. We confirmed with a thermometer that the water was indeed 90 degrees. I won't ever buy this brand again. ... show more

  • Worked great for while. (update - Replaced free after 9 Months, no Issue)
Size: 200W (for 45-80 gallon)
Does what it supposed to. Stays within 1 deg all the time and I love the digital readout. It might be a bit larger than the usual ones because of the plastic guard on it but I got used to it and it looks great now in the tank. Make sure to clean it out, it gets very dirty inside that plastic housing. UPDATE: After 9 months it died, shows EE and I cannot fix it. Tried cleaning it , let it dry out, Unplugged it for a day. Nothing, It will show the proper temp for about 3 mins then "EE" and it shuts off... Poor fish got cold. Looks like the warranty is 1 year? I Lowered the rating from 5 to 2 . Contacting Vendor, I'll update UPDATE- After contacting the Vendor and telling them the issue, they immediately sent a new heater, It was here in 5 days. Very impressed. I raised the star rating to 4 from 2 due to the customer service. Let's see how long this one lasts. ... show more

  • A solid, easy to use aquarium heater
Size: 800W (for 80-220 gallon)
I am currently using this heater on my 125 gallon indoor South American Cichlid aquarium. The heater itself is much larger than I expected, and seems to be constructed well. Set up was super simple; just attach the SUPER STRONG suction cups to the heater, and stick it in my tank. I have the heater placed centered on the back of my aquarium, about 3 inches above the substrate. The cord that runs from the controller to the heater itself has plenty of slack for anyone with a deeper tank. I have the heater set to 81 degrees Fahrenheit, and the thermometers on each end of the aquarium indicate a 24 hour low temperature of 80.6, and a high of 82.2 degrees, which is impressively consistent. There is an audible "click" sound whenever the heater turns on or off. I am very sensitive to sound, and my wife never notices the clicking noise, and it is not something that worries me, but it is worth mentioning in this review. Overall, I recommend this product for anyone who is in the market for a digital heater for their aquarium. ... show more

  • Solution Error fix!
Size: 200W (for 45-80 gallon)
The media could not be loaded. I see complaints about people that owned this for a year and they start getting error messages after the warranty expired. The same thing happened to me, but first I saw the heater was active way more than it should be (for a while) the difference is I know how (I think) to fix it. FIX FOR THE ERROR MESSAGE if you look at the heater it builds calcium up just like any other heater so you have to clean it. I would not buy any dealer solution for it as you FISH LIVE IN THIS WATER so I use vinegar and water. I took a pic of it soaking and as bad as it is it's going to take a few days so I recommend getting a secondary heater while this happens. Unfortunately don't have one so I came back to order a 2nd one and hope my fish will be ok. I'll update this if it doesn't work but if I don't then it did ... show more
