We purchased these for our 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 pickup. These running boards are awesome! Thin/streamlined so it doesn't make your truck look like it's a low-rider or sitting on the ground like thicker bars such as nurf bars can do. Even though they are made of some sort of plastic, we did powder coat these and they held up under the extreme heat. We weren't sure they would. We pulled the skid rubber off and let the powder coating company do it's thing. Of all the items we had powder coated, it was these that we thought would be destroyed. These did great. The toolbox is what suffered... but that's another review. Once we got them back, we took the extreme double sided sticky outdoor tape from 3M (or Gurilla) and stuck the rubber strips back on. It has now been over a year and it's just like new. The only issue we have is we did not get the brackets powder coated (weren't sure how that would look so we left them black) and most of the paint has come off them and they're rusting. We put over 100,000 miles a year on our vehicles, so these haven't had light use. The truck is never garaged, but is washed up to 3 times a week (she needs to look pretty for her job). The next set we purchase, we will powder coat the whole thing. They were easy to install (even in the dark) and have held up really well. I absolutely would buy another set of these! Best $200.00 I ever spent. Easy to install, we had them installed in about an hour and a half, but only because my husband is a perfectionist and takes things slooooowly. The fit my 2009 GMC Sierra HD Duramax perfectly and look great. What a difference it makes to have a step up. I wish I had not waited so long, but I have always hated the look of running boards, especially the tubes. These are clean lined and look great. I am very happy with them. I will mention that one of the boards was a little warped when we got it, but we were able to hold it down and keep tightening it, and it straightened right out nicely. I have only had them on for a week, so no comment on durability, but it looks like they will hold up nicely. At this price, honestly, I wouldn't mind replacing them if need be in five years, or so. But, I don't think I will need to . I am surprised at the nice quality, and very happy with the the look. ... show more

Solid, functional running boards. The underrail design allowing the brackets to be mounted anywhere along the underside is great - it allows for flexibility in bracket location and relatively easy tightening upon your desired placement. The black running boards look great on my silver truck - I think it would probably look good on any color, though. The installation is relatively easy - if you can install/uninstall a washer/dryer set then you can probably figure out how to install these running boards with loose guidance on bracket fastening and placement. The worst part - and the main reasons for losing a star in the rating - is that APS supplies extremely poor instructions and their included mounting kit comes with a particular, so-called 'multi-functional' bracket for the passenger side. This multi-functional bracket is designed to install on either gasoline- or diesel-engine models, however, the multi-functional bracket does not support the running board well on my gasoline-engine truck. I had to call APS (who then redirected me to Amazon) to get a standard passenger-side bracket to replace the multi-functional bracket. Suggestion for APS: Include an extra standard passenger-side bracket in your mounting kit for gasoline models or allow the customer to choose their mounting kit based on engine model. Also, hire an outside professional to write/develop instructions for your customers. ... show more

I installed this on my 2015 Chevy Silverado crew cab. I've had them on for about 5 months or so and I love them. They are showing no signs of wear and tear and still look really nice. For the price I am very impressed and the installation was very easy, even though the instructions weren't very good. When I bought these I worried 6 inches would look weird, but now that I have them and have used them I wouldn't want anything smaller. They are fairly thin so they don't look bulky, but are nice and wide so you don't have to worry missing one. I would HIGHLY recommend these. ... show more

These running boards are great value! And they look phenomenal. After an hour of researching other running boards, I decided there was no way I could justify spending the $300-400 that some other dealers were wanting. Especially for ones that do not look nearly as good. These running boards are sleek and stylish. My only complaint is that the directions are waaaaaay more complicated than they need to be. And they could really use some schematic drawings that detail the way the brackets, nuts and bolts assemble together. One thing that I also noticed on my 2016 Sierra SLT Crew Cab was the passenger side front bracket does NOT need to be a special bracket like the one that comes with the kit. In the directions it says there is a part of the truck that obstructs the bracket holes so they made the front bracket a little bit different and 2 separate pieces that bolt together. This was not the case on my truck. All 6 brackets (drivers side and passenger side) could have been all the same. In the end, it took me about an hour and a half to install completely. These boards were installed on a 2018 Silverado crew cab. Fairly easy install especially after watching a couple YouTube videos. The Front passenger bracket took a little longer than the others but even that wasn't too bad. That bracket is designed for a diesel truck to avoid the DEF tank. It would be nice if the manufacturer would just include a 6th "normal" bracket for the 90% of us who don't own a diesel, but I guess they want to save a few bucks. I would have gladly paid a few dollars more for it though. I think they look great and the design is a little different than what's on most trucks. I would definitely buy them again if I were to do it all over. (Please excuse the dirty truck. We just had snow the day before I put these on.) ... show more
