  • 2005 Honda PERFECT fit, superior quality kit here!!!!
2005 Honda CRV took 20 minutes. Quality was surprisingly amazing..I had quotes from high of $650 to lowest $399 for install of similar hitch. Tips: install side brackets 1st, bolts loose. Then hang center hitch member using U bolt, loosely. Next loosely connect center hitch member to side brackets. Only now should you tighten anything, starting with side brackets to vehicle frame. Next tighten 8 center member bolts to side brackets using washers on both bolt and nut sides. Last tighten UBolt and viola you just saved $300. P.S. silicone spray lube on muffler hangers as others posted was like butter for removal and reattachment. ... show more

  • Fit my 2002 Honda CR-V with no problems
I installed with no problems but tricky trying to fish the nuts with this device that was provided. Watch a YouTube video, it did help for the procedure. It did help to have couple of ramps to elevate the back end up to give more room to work with from the ground.

  • Real good, for the most part.
Easy install. Working great so far. The only little niggle of annoyance I've experienced is that the towing hitch happens to maintain a constant, close connection with the exhaust muffler. The trouble with this is that when the car is started up, the two parts vibrate rather annoyingly and for the first 20 seconds or so, it sounds as if something rather catastrophic is occurring. Of course, I know exactly what the problem is. I doubt it's a major issue, but the metallic vibration is rather obtrusive and sounds far more concerning than it is. I suppose I'll have to add some kind of tough, heat-tolerant pad to stop the vibration, but to this point I've not been motivated to do so. ... show more

  • Nice but a little extra work required
I'd rate it 3 1/2 if possible due to an issue that needed attention. The tow hook in the center of the car hit the receiver tube and would not allow it to line up with the left and right brackets. I had to cut a relief in it to clear the hook (see pics). Also can offer a few tips on install, 1-don't assemble before hanging it on the car, install both sides loosely and then mount the center piece, the right bracket is a pain to install and virtually impossible if assembled 2-shorten the right rear bolt after installation before you put the muffler back on the hangers, as other have mentioned it will rattle and drive you crazy ! 3-I put a little silicone lube on the muffler hanger posts, made them much easier to remove and install ... show more

  • Wrong part.
After several hours trying to get the bolts in the frame and then trying to install the hitch, found it to be the wrong hitch. SMH.
