  • A Must-Have for Crawl Space Moisture Control
Style: Dehumidifier Configuration: w/Leveling Feet
We encapsulated our crawl space to help prevent mold, but we knew that just sealing it off wouldn’t be enough—until this high-efficiency dehumidifier made its debut in our home. As soon as we installed it (which was surprisingly easy, even while army crawling in the crawl space), it immediately started pulling gallons of moisture out of the air. Our home now smells fresh, clean, and completely free of that musty odor. After the initial setup, it maintains the humidity level we set and only turns on when it rises above that threshold—so it's not running constantly or racking up our electric bill. In fact, we haven’t noticed a significant change in our energy costs at all. Heads up: this unit is very heavy—you’ll definitely need two people to lift and position it safely! ... show more

  • Efficient an Effective
Style: Dehumidifier Configuration: w/Leveling Feet
I replaced a 9 year old Sanidry unit with this one based on reviews. When it arrived it was smaller and lighter than the one I replaced. They were equal in capacity. I installed in my encapsulated crawl space that was at 67 percent humidity. In no time this unit had everything back under control and back to 52 percent. Very happy going on week 2 of use. Also as an added bonus this is whisper quiet. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Fantastic machine it’s working great so far!
Style: Dehumidifier Configuration: w/Leveling Feet
Update 12 months in and still fantastic! Keeping the humidity down and running the AC system about 30-40% less than we did prior to the install. Simple install just seconds after turning it on water started draining through the supplied clear drain pipe. I installed the unit on top of my air handler in the attic and it’s doing great so far. I tapped into the ac drain pipe to drain the condensation but recommend flushing it first to guarantee proper draining and flow. Was really easy to just plug it in and turn it on. It did great! Living in florida in an older water front home this thing seems to be doing it’s work. Our humidity is down 10% within a few hours from normal. I can’t wait to see how well it does in the following week! Also this unit has 8in duct fittings I read a review that said 10 inch ducting so I ordered that from Amazon unfortunately I’ll be returning those but Lowes and Home Depot had what I need to get it installed same day as the delivery. I spent maybe 100.00 on ductwork, tape and collars to fit this into my system. My ac guys said he could install his system for $5000.00 I’m all in this system installed for $1300.00 talk about savings!!! ... show more

  • Good value, high quality and great performance.
Style: Dehumidifier Configuration: Bundle – Wall Control
Fantastic dehumidifier for the money. Brought our 1900 sqft basement from 65% to 35% in under a week. Fairly quiet with plenty of hose to get to the floor drains.

  • Worthless to me
Style: Dehumidifier Configuration: w/Leveling Feet
Received this after 2 week shopping wait. within 10 mins of installing it continuously went from dehumidifying to defrosting. After calling tech they had me open the unit switch wires around then said the freeze sensor was bad so I waited another week for that installed that? (Still can’t figure out why I had to do surgery on a $1300 brand new unit but ok) Installed the new sensor and it Worked!! For ten mins then went into e8 error mode. Turns out it only works over 50 degrees ( on my monitor it was 56. Then I find out it also won’t work with a dew point under 40 degrees. In my area 5000ft up in the Carolina mountains I’ve had one day in the last 2 weeks with a dew point of 43 degrees and that was the day it worked for 10 mins! Total waste of time and money. Now I’m waiting upto 30 days for a refund before I can afford to buy one that does work meanwhile my crawlspace is over 65% humidity after spending $24000 on mold remediation. Absolute nightmare! ... show more

  • Exceptional Commercial Grade Dehumidifier, pass on the wall mount control
Style: Dehumidifier Configuration: Bundle – Wall Control
I've been using the Aprilaire E070 with wall mount control Model 76 for 14 months in a crawlspace in western NC. There was evidence of white mold and moisture damage. The crawlapce is roughly 5670 cubic feet or 945sqft. I think Aprilaire should identify the units dehumidifying capabilities by cubic feet, that is the entire air space your needing to dehumidify, not the floors square footage. The crawspace was encapsulated and I added an 8 inch flexible duct to route air towards the crawlspace access door, where there is higher humidity fluctuations. The drain line was routed into the HVAC drain line. I have the relative humidity set at 49 percent. The Aprilaire E070 has definitely changed the environment. It's no longer damp and musty smelling The white mold was also treated. As far as the wall mount control Model 76. Hard Pass, read the reviews on that before you buy the combo, it's horrible. It's still hanging on the wall but I've disabled it and use wireless Thermo Pro to monitor the humidity levels from inside the house. I hope Aprilaire comes up with a replacement for the 76. I haven't noticed any increase in my power bill. It's not so loud that it gets your attention from inside the house. For the space I'm using it in, it doesn't run often. For a space over 6000 cubic foot I would go with a larger unit, to prevent longer run time. It is expensive but I'm pleased with the purchase, except for the wall mount control. ... show more
