  • Keyboard feels well put together and solid in operation. Happy again.!
Model name: AW 510K Color: AW 510K - Dark Side of the Moon
Ok.. Finally. The keys feel so solid and amazing to me. They're right where my fingers think they're going to be.. which is always nice. I like that the colors are ..sorta muted.. And, the fact that when adjusting them the brightness starts about halfway up rather than at full tilt. So, the keyboard is very easy to use and fulfilling to deal with since everything is quietly powerful feeling. Now, truth be told.. the software feels kinda janky but after some fiddlin' with it.. it's ok. And, I don't have to run it or have it auto-start so that's a plus. Hoping this will be a long term relationship since I am pretty much fed up trying different keyboards since my k740 started being too far over the hill to continue using. Alright.. *Cheers to (of all things) an Alienware keyboard. (Never would've guessed I'd end up here again) Surprise.! ... show more

  • Great keyboard! Wired is the way to go for longevity
Model name: Alienware Low Profile RGB Mechanica... Color: Lunar light
Previously had a wireless keyboard from a random brand that I liked, before it started crapping out on me. The aesthetic of it being wireless was nice, but it just wasn't doing the job. Decided to spoil myself with this one and upgrade to wired so there wasn't any connectivity issues. Love it so much and it is worth the money! ... show more

  • Awesome! Quiet, efficient, excellent responsiveness and volume control.
Model name: AW 510K Color: AW 510K - Dark Side of the Moon
This keyboard is amazing! Love it to death. Prior to this purchase I had a rather nice and expensive Razer mechanical keyboard. Don't get me wrong - Razer makes AWESOME products and all that but for my tastes A MECHANICAL KEYBOARD (NOT THIS KEYBOARD) IS TOO LOUD. FAR TOO LOUD. I type extremely fast and the clack clack clack of a mechanical keyboard sounds like tossing a ball bearing into a paper shredding. Don't ask me how I know. THIS keyboard has a shorter key stroke, quietly operating key engagement, on-keyboard volume control with mute, well lit keys and the standard layout that I, as a gamer, have come to expect. BUY THIS KEYBOARD NOW!!!! OMG I love this thing and I'm not being paid or endorsed by anyone to leave this review. Seriously, I can type at 100+ wpm and still actually hear the video that I'm watching. LOVE IT. Soooo smooth and looks amazing to boot. The only downside to it is that it does not come with a padded wrist rest which I come to expect with a keyboard of this price but I already have one and I'm using it now. This does not take away from the rating of the keyboard itself, nor do I feel that it detracts from the value of this keyboard for the money. If you do not possess very good control of your typing (mainly in the form of intentional key strokes) then you will likely find this keyboard too sensitive. But I absolutely ADORE THIS KEYBOARD!!! ... show more

  • Cherry MX is still the winner
Model name: ALIENWARE TENKEYLESS GAMING KEYBOAR... Color: Dark Side of the Moon
I used to miss my full size Corsair K70 with the volume scroll wheel and number pad after using it for nearly 10 years, so it was a bit of a learning curve to adjust to a TKL setup. For about 2 months prior to purchasing the AW420K, I was using the Logitech PRO X TKL RAPID, making all the necessary adjustments in the software and learning to adapt magnetic-analog switches on a smaller size keyboard. The issue I had with the switches was that unlike the Corsair K70, the W A S D didn't have swappable textured keycaps and I had to keep checking my hand positioning when typing and gaming. Additionally I found that typing on the PRO X keyboard was difficult and the AW420K is much more comfortable and I make less keystroke errors. The keys are LOUD, but not MX BLUE loud. The keys also have a pinging sound is some of the larger keys although I really don't mind this as the typing is much more natural due to the feedback and really, you can't notice with headphones on. As you can see, I am using multiple Alienware products and the Command Center was very simple to operate and adjust- I thought this was worth mentioning because I read many reviews that stated it was confusing. ... show more

  • Sensual Typing Experience
Model name: AW 510K Color: AW 510K - Dark Side of the Moon
So far I’m very happy with this keyboard. I first purchased another, compact rgb keyboard but I didn’t realize how heavily I rely on the number pad. Doh! I’m not a gamer but I bought an Alienware laptop for graphic work. This keyboard integrates seamlessly with the pre-installed command center so that was not an issue for me. The keyboard is SO much quieter than the other mechanical keyboard. It has such a soft, pleasant, tactile stroke, I almost wish for more work. I’m hoping for a type heavy project soon! On my desk, it sits behind my Wacom and the one doesn’t interfere with the other (but then I’ve been doing this for so many years, I may be subconsciously adjusting my hands). My work area is pretty dark so I’m grateful for the rgb lighting. It was easy to program- and I only change the color of the number keys from everything else. BIG CON: it has two (2) usb plugs!! It’s the only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5. Fortunately, I’ve just bought a good dock that supports 3 USB ports. The alienware m15 has 3 USB ports (I think), but I like my station to be portable without too much plugging and unplugging. Since I leave the keyboard (and big Wacom and big external monitor) at home, the docker is a saving grace. EDIT: changing to 5 stars. I didn’t realize there is an additional USB port on the keyboard and that is the reason for the additional plug. Love this! And I like Alienware. I’ve been using dell products for 15 years and I’m happy I discovered this in their lineup. ... show more
