  • A Game Changer for My Workspace!
I’ve been using the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly blown away by how much it has improved my typing experience. As someone who works on both my Mac and iPad regularly, the wireless Bluetooth connection makes it super easy to switch between devices. No more fumbling with wires or constantly having to reconnect—it just works. The keys are smooth, quiet, and responsive, which has made typing a breeze, even during long sessions. The additional numeric keypad is a huge bonus for anyone who does a lot of data entry or works with numbers—it really speeds things up. The rechargeable battery is fantastic, and I love not having to worry about swapping out batteries all the time. The build quality is solid, and as with most Apple products, it just feels premium and sleek. It also pairs effortlessly with my iPhone when I need to use it on the go. Overall, this keyboard has been an amazing addition to my setup. If you're looking for a reliable, high-quality wireless keyboard for your Apple devices, I highly recommend this one! ... show more

  • The best keyboard ever made
Okay, I should qualify that headline as "The Best Keyboard ever Made for the Mac!" But I have never used a better keyboard for *any* computer, and I've used a LOT of keyboards over the years. As a bluetooth connected device, you might fear that you can out-pace the connection and experience dropped keystrokes. But no, it doesn't ever seem to do that. I am a very fast typist and have never had that problem. Knowing Apple, this is not just a simple tap-transmit-wait-for-next-tap type of device. It probably buffers your keystrokes and transmits them, verifying each one with an acknowledgement from the host computer. That's the way I would design it, and it seems to do that. Just talking as a user, I find it very nice and easy to type on. The numeric keypad is also nice-to-have especially if you tend to enter lots of numerical data, for example in a spreadsheet. The keyboard usually lasts me about two weeks between charges, sometimes as long as a month, depending on usage. Over time, the battery gets weaker, as with all such rechargeable devices. I will mention that this keyboard is a replacement for one I got four years ago, which had an arrow key die. I need the keyboard badly so I just went ahead and ordered one without trying to repair the key. I did pry the key cap off and apply some alcohol, hoping it would fix an oxidized connection, but no luck. These keyboards are not really reparable beyond an occasional air blowout or suction (use your handheld vacuum to pull out the dust, hairs etc. from time to time). The one thing I'm doing differently with this keyboard is that I put on a thin keyboard cover, also purchased here on Amazon for a few dollars, to try to minimize dust and other particles accumulating. It protects against coffee spills etc. as well. It somewhat reduces the accuracy of typing, but the payoff is that the keyboard will likely last longer and require less cleaning. A tradeoff. I can recommend this keyboard to anyone working with a Mac, either desktop or laptop; it will increase your productivity and is a joy to use. ... show more

  • Sleek Design Meets Functionality: A Must-Have Accessory for Apple Enthusiasts
As a long-time Apple user, I've always been a fan of their sleek and minimalistic designs. When I recently decided to upgrade my desktop setup, the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad was a no-brainer for me. Right out of the box, the Magic Keyboard impresses with its stylish and slim design. The build quality is excellent, as expected from an Apple product, and it feels sturdy yet lightweight. The keys have a low profile, and the scissor-switch mechanism provides a satisfying and responsive typing experience. The added numeric keypad is a game-changer for those of us who frequently work with numbers, making data entry and calculations much more efficient. The Magic Keyboard connects effortlessly via Bluetooth to any Apple device, and the set-up process is a breeze. The built-in rechargeable battery is another great feature, as it eliminates the need for constantly replacing batteries. A single charge lasts me several weeks of regular use, and recharging is as simple as connecting the keyboard to my computer with the included Lightning cable. The only minor drawback I've encountered is that the keyboard may occasionally lose connection for a brief moment, but this has been a rare occurrence and is quickly resolved by turning the keyboard off and back on again. Overall, the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad is a fantastic addition to any Apple-centric workspace. Its sleek design, comfortable typing experience, and added functionality with the numeric keypad make it well worth the investment. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality keyboard to complement their Apple devices. ... show more

  • Totally satisfied-- Holds a charge for months! Totally satisfied-- Holds a charge for months!
I've used many wireless keyboards by several different manufacturers and I can finally say that I've found the perfect bluetooth keyboard. I understand there are a lot of traits people look for in their keyboards, and to make it short, this is a typical Apple product. It is sleek, low-profile, has a nice clean and modern look, and is most importantly easy to use (I'm typing with it now). It easily pairs with your computer without the need for a USB dongle, like some of the Logitech models I've used. Over the years, I've used brands that have failed to work over short periods of time and need constant charging. When I bought this, I assumed I would be charging it weekly. But sixty days later? I still have 48% power!! This is a keyboard I use for work every day- and I don't even turn it off!! I am blown away by the battery life. My previous computer keyboard was a Logitech k750 (I had two actually) and while the solar power worked well enough and I still consider it a great contender, both of my k750's batteries died within 9-10 months-- and replacing their batteries isn't ideal. It's worth adding that I'm not currently aware of a way to replace the battery in the Magic Keyboard. The icing on the cake is that the keyboard charges with a lightning port- so I can charge my keyboard (if it ever needs a charge THIS YEAR) with my iPhone's lightning cable on my desk (or the included lightning cable). ... show more

  • Second best keyboard I've ever used
Actually... it may be the very best. For almost 40 years, I've considered the "gold standard" of computer keyboards to be the mechanical keyboards that shipped with original IBM computers in the 80s. I cut my teeth, so to speak, on one of those keyboards, and every last keyboard I had used since then fell miserably short, regardless of who made it or how much it sold for. Not even other mechanical keyboards were a match for that beauty. When I lost the battery compartment cap to my old A1242 keyboard I'd used every day for almost 15 years, I decided it was time to just replace the keyboard. It had been dropped and banged around so many times, the arrow keys and right Option key didn't work half the time, and feeding it 3 AA batteries every two weeks (every 7-10 days when I was using rechargeable batteries) was just not working anymore in an age where everything is rechargeable. I decided to go big and got the full-size, and I'm SO glad I did, because it let me assign functions to all those extra function keys. For example, I use hit F13 to show all windows, F14 for application windows, and F15 for desktop. The battery lasts quite a bit longer than the disposable batteries in the A1242. I got almost a full month out of the first full charge, without turning it off when not in use. But most importantly? The FEEL! These keys feel just right under my fingers. They have just the right amount of travel distance when pressed. The right resistance against my fingers. Just the right size. This keyboard is just RIGHT in every regard. So right, it leaves me puzzled, wondering how the same company that created this work of art was also responsible for creating that abomination they passed off as a keyboard on my early 2019 MacBook Pro. Well... At least they got it right this time! And, when I consider the difference in clacking noise between this keyboard and the IBM mechanical that I also love, this one may just come out ahead after all. ... show more

  • Best keyboard I ever used, but ... Best keyboard I ever used, but ...
I type faster on this keyboard than any other I've had. The aesthetic feeling of typing literally because a pleasure. The fact it looks so clean and is made from aluminium with shiny glassy bottom is a plus too. The fact that it's SO much better than any other keyboard forces it to get 5 stars in spite of some minor caveats and gripes: 1. It's flat. If you're like me and want the keyboard angled up to your fingers, you're going to have to invest in some aftermarket feet. Get some nice matching aluminium ones and you'll be happy. 2. It charges with Lightning Port cable (included). Time to go to USB-C please, Apple. 3. This model does NOT have TouchID. If you want to use Apple Pay, you'll have to pull out your phone to confirm the purchase that you're making on your Mac's Safari browser. You'll also have to type your password when you wake it from sleep. So think about if you want to pay $55 extra or whatever for that good and hard. I thought I didn't but now I kinda wish I did. Even so, all of that is minor compared to the best keyboard I've ever typed on. And wow does it have amazing battery life. Get this or the one with TouchID and you'll be happy. ... show more

  • Love This Keyboard
OK - As others have said - 5 point system is not enough - I give 4.5 stars for this reason - Lightning Cable was bad, however Amazon customer online chat was awesome for that 10 stars. Hence - Keyboard arrived well packed, and it's Apple - Keyboard works perfect after an initial glitch with set up due to a bad cable. Key response is awesome, response is spot on & the layout is exact to the MacBook Pro other than the added numeric pad. A big plus would be back light like the MacBook. I would actually prefer a little more forward tilt, but easily solvable with some sticky bumpers. Just in case you get this & have the same problem I had - When I got it, the battery was at 75%, so I immediately plugged it in, connected no issue, however key response was horrible - like 3-4 second delay or not at all. I de-installed, re-installed, same issue. I was ready to return, but had a thought, what if it is the lightning cable - unplugged the cable & wala - worked like a charm. My thought was maybe it does not work while charging, which would be strange, tried another lightning cable and sure enough it was a bad cable. (Cable would not work on other devices!) I get on Amazon support chat, long story short, they had me order a new cable (Apple) not the cheap knock offs & credit back my account the price of the cable including tax. Good job Amazon! ... show more

  • A Reliable Keyboard. A Reliable Keyboard.
This 2017 keyboard [Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad] is a very good keyboard from Apple. I like the older 2007 keyboard [Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (discontinued in 2017 by this keyboard under review)], better because the 2007 keyboard has a more substantial weight and is sloped a few degrees more, which makes the 2007 keyboard more comfortable for me. The only problem with the 2007 model is that you need a USB-A port for power. The newer 2017 and later keyboards are rechargeable battery. So, Apple did decrease costs somewhat by reducing mass since 2017. They have made even newer keyboards with Touch ID since 2021 that work with Intel Macs, but only Apple M-Series silicon will support Touch ID. The Latest Apple Keyboards are from 2024 with USB-C charging. Probably, if you need a new Apple Keyboard, any of the new ones since 2017 will do. I'm still using the 2007 model because I love the ergonomic feel of the slope. However, when it dies, any of the Magic Keyboards since 2017, appropriate for my 2017 iMac, will do. I returned the "Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad" for a full refund until I really need it. For now, the corded old-school keyboard, pictured in my review, is maintaining Apple's legacy of excellent quality. ... show more
