Description

The MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.7 15-Inch (Late 2016 Retina Display, Touch Bar, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) features a 14 nm, 6th Generation "Skylake" 2.7 GHz Intel "Core i7" processor (6820HQ), with four independent processor "cores" on a single silicon chip, an 8 MB shared level 3 cache, 16 GB of onboard 2133 MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM (which cannot be upgraded), 1 TB of PCIe-based flash storage, and dual graphics processors -- an AMD Radeon Pro 455 with 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory and an integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 graphics processor that shares memory with the system. This notebook also has an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam, a thin, backlit "second generation" butterfly mechanism keyboard with an integrated new "Touch Bar" that replaces the traditional function keys with a touch-sensitive control that adapts for different applications and provides Touch ID login support, and a gigantic "Force Touch" trackpad. Additionally, it has a high-resolution LED-backlit 15.4" widescreen 2880x1800 (220 ppi, 500 nits) "Retina" display, and a integrated battery that provides an Apple estimated 10 hours of runtime. This notebook is offered in either silver colored aluminum or a darker "Space Gray" colored aluminum housing (but not other colors) and weighs just a bit more than 4 pounds (1.83 kg). Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, four "Thunderbolt 3" ports (USB-C connector), and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Compared to its predecessor, this model has a completely different external housing that is thinner, is available in another color option, and has the aforementioned "Touch Bar" in addition to a larger trackpad, but swaps a variety of ports for just four Thunderbolt 3 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Internally, it has a more advanced processor and architecture, as well as a more advanced graphics processor and better speakers, but reduced battery life.

  • MacBook Pro 15” i7 core 16GB, 512GB, 2016
Capacity: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
The media could not be loaded. I was quite surprised of what I received! Of course, I insured it through Assurion! The keys work great! In spite of the negative reviews, which I am very sorry about, this laptop kicks butt! It was amazingly clean! Yes! The top, exterior lid was very scratched! But, the interior portion was clean and not worn! Wow! 16 GB OF RAM AND 512 GB OF ROM AT i7 Core. It is not VERY FAST! But it is consistent. It automatically downloaded to Monterrey 12,7.6! I just ordered a Microsoft 365 software for it. It was a bit testy in signing into Apple, though. Very redundant steps to finally get accepted. I get one month free of Amazon Music! Nice! I must say, if I need to tap for the next page, you need to tap hard! Typing was a breeze! I will go much further and add to this review! Thank you. Ask any questions what comes to mind. UPDATE: I downloaded Office Home and Business 2019. I wanted a software that I did not have to keep renewing. As it is, THOSE prices keep going up! I signed into Microsoft and into office.com/ setup to upload the software. Again, there were extra steps you had to make. After uploading the software, now, you have to install it! I would prefer a DVD disc. But you are only given a product key these days. As for the touch pad, I can opt to use a mouse instead. Oh yes! The battery life is good. I was on for one hour while loading software. It used 11%. Not too bad! I know today’s laptop batteries are far better. But getting about three hours from this laptop is suitable for me. ... show more

  • Why??
Capacity: 16GB RAM | 1TB SSD
By far the worst purchase. Keyboard doesn’t work. Doubles letters and batter lasts 20 min maybe. I can not restore to factory setting because power button doesn’t do anything while holding down to restore. They won’t reply to messages.

  • Perfect Condition - So far
Capacity: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
I've been using Macs exclusively since 2001, and this is the first time I've purchased one that wasn't brand new. I was on a bit of a budget after my previous macbook pro was stolen, so I opted for a renewed Macbook Pro, because my laptop doesn't really get the same amount of use as my Mac Studio, I just use it to play around on. I read through the reviews, and the purchase seemed a little sketchy, however, I decided to buy it because the good reviews definitely outweighed the bad, and should anything go wrong, there's a somewhat generous return policy. My experience so far: The laptop was carefully packed, and included the correct charger (off brand, but I don't care about that). It booted up immediately and had the most recent version of Monterey installed. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked and how responsive it was - I mean, the computer is 6+ years old, I was expecting a beater. There are zero signs of wear anywhere, no scratches, no dings. The screen is bright and vibrant, the control bar works perfect. The keyboard doesn't feel quite as sturdy as my old macbook, but it's not enough to deter me from using it or make me want to leave a bad review. The battery charged to 100% in about an hour and seems to hold a charge very well. All in all, this gets 5-stars because it's worth every penny. It's a $700 Macbook pro that runs as-well-as any new mac. I know this because my wife has a 2022 Macbook Pro M1, we have a 2022 M1 Mac Mini, and my office computer is a 2022 Mac Studio. This laptop keeps up with all of them for regular use. ... show more

  • 2016 not a good release year
Capacity: 16GB RAM | 256GB SSD
UPDATE 3 - Glad I purchased the Asurion coverage. They made the process easy by sending me the materials to ship with & included instructions. Fixed the issues faster than the estimated time frame. Good experience. UPDATE 2 - A little over a year later & I want to toss it out a 10-story window. Looked at so many renewed MacBook Pros that I must've purchased the wrong one. Didn't intend to buy a 2016. Run the UPC number from the product description through Apple's site for the release year. Laptop hit the floor while open & keys got damaged, as in at least one key is stuck in the down position. Not sure the insurance will cover it because there's a known issue with the keys from 2016. Screen & outer casing survived the fall. Battery is progressively draining faster between charges so I suspect it's still the original or a used one was installed. Bargain price but aggravating. UPDATE 1 - Had it a little over a month & one of the key caps broke. Doesn't look like a big deal to replace them. Just don't be surprised if you have the same issue. Screen was dirty. Used electronic wipes to clean every surface & keyboard brush to dust. Recommend the seller check cleanliness prior to shipping. I'm guessing a key had to be replaced because it's an odd one & not the U.S. format. It's the key to the left of the Return which should be a double & single quote. This one has a semicolon & comma. It's not a big deal because I type properly (no hunt & peck) & pressing that key generates the characters it needs to. ... show more

  • After a difficult update, it works great!
Capacity: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
At first I was going to write a bad review because when it arrived it had VERY old software on it that it couldn’t even get an update on it without a newer version of the OS. Eventually though I figured out a loophole around it, and while it didn’t update to the absolute newest update (because it is an older computer from 2019) I’m still very impressed. There was a small scratch on the top but other than that, everything works great on it now that I have it updated. It was able to download what I needed and actually load everything I was trying before the update. ... show more
