  • So far .. very happy .. So far .. very happy ..
.. but do your research. Reading reviews, this was a scary process. I just bought a refurbed iPhone X 3 months ago that was near perfect so I knew it could be done. Amazon is a flea market w thousands of venders. In looking for a refurbed Mac, there were dozens of vendors 'approved' by Amazon. Click on the storefront of each vendor 'sold by' and check their customer approval rating. Some were little better than 60%. I found 'Certified Macs' to be one of the highest rated so shopped their storefront for what I wanted. I paid top $$ for 'excellent condition' but still just over $300 for a mid-2014 spec'ed for my needs. It came in a plain white box, as in the photo, w a lot of bubble wrap. FedEx delivered and asked my ID. There was what appears to be a new Apple-type knockoff charger and cable. The charger did 'spark', as others have mentioned, when I first plugged it in but has not in the 2 weeks since and does not feel hot when in use. The computer is flawless .. clean, zero scratches or blemishes, screen looks perfect. So far it is operating as expected, faster than my 2011 model that was on the verge of crashing. Battery is adequate at just under 6000 w 298 cycles. Hopefully I can get 3-4 years solid use minimum as I only use it for surfing, bills, photo storage .. the usual. ... show more

  • For the price it is worth it!
I purchased this laptop mainly for school work and some streaming, no gaming or cinematography needs. The computer came with little to no scratches, and the screen works perfectly, with almost no sign of previous use on the keyboard or the cover. The charger looked very used and so I purchased another charger that wasn't too expensive since it is an older model. Battery life is decent and the new charger helps. I was able to install the latest version of OS and so far I've had no issues. I have only had the computer for about a month and so far no complaints! I'd recommend you do your research, I was skeptical about buying refurbished however, the purchase went smoothly and the device works. It did not come in the original apple box. ... show more

  • PRICED TOO HIGH FOR WHAT YOU GET
No description of what year or operating system. There are several Mac OS's and this one is completely outdated from 2015. Phone mirroring is only supported by 2018 and newer due to it's requirement of a T2 chip (or newer) to support it so installing a newer OS is pointless not to mention a 2018 and some newer models goes for about the same price that have a little more functionality. Lesson learned, if it doesn't state the year or which Mac OS it's running, don't buy it. Personally, I bought it for my daughter and I don't use crApple. ... show more

  • Great Product, Few Minor Issues but Overall Money Well Spent Great Product, Few Minor Issues but Overall Money Well Spent
I ordered this MacBook as I am a photographer and needed a better functioning computer than my pc to edit photos/ do design work. The function of this MacBook has been great, runs fast, battery life is good, etc. However, when I received the mac there was a lot of cosmetic scratches on the bottom and there are a few dents on the sides by the keyboard where I can tell it has been dropped-- this did not bother me as I always put cases on my computers, however I have received refurbished products in better condition. I also had issues with my charger upon arrival where it was sparking by my Mac port when I plugged it in, not by the outlet-- so I contacted the seller (because after doing some online research I found out that the sparks produced were due to a faulty charger) and the seller sent me out a new charger without hesitation that now works flawlessly. So although there were a few minor issues-- they were easily addressed by the seller and the overall Mac function has been great, exactly what I needed and for that I am giving this product 4 stars. ... show more

  • Great for school
I was skeptical about this purchase. when I first got my computer, I opened it up and I went through the welcome settings. Turns out the keyboard would not type. I was disappointed but then I contact apple support to help me with issue and they could not resolve it. I contacted the seller which gave me a return slip and said I would get a replacement but they had to get the other one first, figured if I shipped it out they could just ship another. So after a week waiting for that one I ended up waiting like 2 weeks for a replacement.. SO that kind of sucked since it was no fault as it was just opened. Once I got the new one, everything seems to be working. I absolutely love it and would get another. Great for the price. ... show more

  • Awesome computer. Excellent Shape.
This is my first MacBook despite owning several Apple products. It is still very quick despite its age! My former experience was with Windows laptops and those seem outdated and slow after a year or two. Not with this! Maybe someone who does heavy video editing or something like that would find this to be slow or lacking. For my needs (writing, browsing, watching videos, music, basic web design, online business) it is more than enough! Came in great condition and I paid an excellent price for it (they're going for about 25% more, probably due to this crisis). My only tiny gripes have nothing to do with this laptop itself: - battery life could be longer but that's not really fair as I'm used to using an iPad and iPhone! Compared to my old Windows laptops the battery life is phenomenal! - no Touch ID/Face ID: again, not a major issue, just something we have been spoiled with over the past few years. It is a bit strange this lacks a fingerprint scanner considering cheapish laptops had them back in 2007! ... show more

  • You can’t play high energy games or draw well
The Mac itself it amazing, I love it. But I bought it for work, and with the intention of using it for a side hustle, graphic art. But the computer overheats a little too fast, and the fans inside are a tiny bit loud. It’ll still work when it’s tryna cool down, but it slows down my ability to draw. Basically lags. Everything else is fine tho! ... show more
