Description

This Certified Refurbished product is tested and certified to look and work like new. The refurbishing process includes functionality testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging. The product ships with all relevant accessories, a minimum 90-day warranty, and may arrive in a generic box. Only select sellers who maintain a high performance bar may offer Certified Refurbished products on "Reinvented" for the ultimate in portability, the "Early 2015" MacBook models are even lighter and thinner than the smallest models from the MacBook Air series, and with just one USB-C port for connectivity and a headphone jack, the hardware more resembles an iPad with an attached keyboard than it resembles earlier Apple notebooks. However, like the MacBook Air, these MacBook models run OS X rather than the iPad's iOS. The MacBook "Core M" 1.1 12-Inch (Early 2015) features a 14-nm 1.1 GHz Intel "Core M" processor (M-5Y31) with two independent processor "cores" on a single chip, a 4 MB level 3 cache, an "integrated" Intel HD Graphics 5300 graphics processor that shares system memory, 8 GB of onboard 1600 MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM (that cannot be upgraded), and 256 GB of onboard PCIe-based flash storage (that also cannot be upgraded). This all is housed in a wafer thin (0.14-0.52 inch), 2.03 pound, aluminum case offered in "traditional" silver color as well as gold (pictured) and a darker slate "Space Gray" color option. It also packs a lowly 480p FaceTime webcam, a backlit full-size keyboard with a thin "butterfly mechanism" keyboard design, a clever haptic-capable "Force Touch" trackpad, and a beautiful 12" TFT LED-backlit active-matrix "Retina" display (2304x1440 native resolution at 226 ppi). Apple boasts that the notebook additionally uses a new "tiered" battery design to maximize space inside the chassis and delivers 9-10 hours of runtime depending on use.

  • Don’t waste your time and just buy new!!!
Color: Gray Capacity: 12-12.99 inches
I had high hopes when I placed the order for the MacBook 12 inch as it was an early birthday gift for my daughter. She’s about to turn 16 in March and as I’m in the midst of planning a lavish party, I wanted to try and save some money on this gift. Firstly, the order was incorrect. I was sent a MacBook Air 11 inch with a nice dent on the side of it. The packing wasn’t particularly great as you can hear the laptop moving around when I got it. The seller was very responsive and sent out the correct order right away along with a return label to send back the MacBook Air sent in error. I received the proper MacBook 12 inch on 1/11/2020 and it was packaged much better and it truly was quite stunning when I turned it on. My daughter was excited as we went through the process to set up. Once we set it up, we realized that as we hovered over the battery, it said: “Condition: Replace Now”. I was hoping that once it was fully charged, it may go away. That was not the case. Once it reached 100%, I unplugged and it dropped to 88% in a matter of 10 minutes. I contact Apple to find an Apple store or authorized dealer and I found one close to me. It was going to cost me about $200 for the battery and an additional $150 in labor. Mind you, I paid $700 for this MacBook! This would have taken me up over $1000! After discussing with my wife, we decided to purchase the MacBook Air 2017 version which doesn’t have the nice screen the MacBook 12 inch has, but it’s a more powerful computer and it cost us a total of $850. Although we wound up spending a little more, I have the peace of mind that it won’t damage anytime soon and that she is the first person to ever use and own this device. I truly wished I had a better experience because the seller was responsive and tried to help me, but since this was a time sensitive purchase, I needed to go in store and purchase something rather than go a third round with the seller. ... show more

  • Almost unusable MacBook
Color: Yellow Capacity: 256GB
Appearance wise, this laptop is in great shape, it looks brand new. As far as function goes, this computer is nearly nonfunctional most of the time. The battery life is extremely poor and erratic - sometimes a full charge will last 3 hours straight. other times, I will close the laptop on a full charge, open it again15 minutes later, and the battery is somehow at 10%? Today, the charger they provided with the MacBook is no longer charging the computer??? There are several keys that are stuck that I have to press extra hard when typing. The computer itself is SO slow and delayed, there is a 30-50 second wait at any given time when clicking on something. Nothing is fast. With it being used, I had expected some physical markings on the MacBook from some regular wear and tear. I had not expected the computer itself to run so slow. I am such an Apple snob and wanted a Macbook but couldn’t justify the $$ for a new one. Had I known that it would be like this, I would have saved my money, swallowed my snobby team Apple pride, and purchased a brand new PC from HP or Lenovo. Overall, I was very hopeful and ended up pretty disappointed. ... show more

  • Gets hot and poor battery life
Color: Yellow Capacity: 256GB
As far as appearance goes this is stunning no scratches or anything else. Using it on the other hand is a different story, I'm new to macOS so I don't have much to say about it, the speakers are amazing, but using the laptop for causal browsing (using Chrome) it gets HOT like I have to use a pillow to keep it from burning my lap, charging it while using it makes it even hotter for some reason; battery life is bad as well I get like 3 - 4 hours using it a far cry from 9 hours I expected, my iPad Air last can last 10 hours on a single charge (depends what I'm doing)! Maybe I need more time to mess around with this laptop but as of right now if it weren't for it getting hot and it's poor battery life I would've recommended this. ... show more
