I had to buy a laptop for a class I am taking. I chose a refurbished model because I did not want to contribute to the ongoing genocide in the Congo related to mining of materials for tech devices. Unfortunately, this MacBook screen has been shutting off without notice since the day I got it. Sometimes it stays on for the whole time I am using it, other times, it shuts off in the middle of my class despite being in use, having no apparent sleep or screen preferences that would indicate such behavior, and without any ability to turn back on. It seems to come back without any input from me. The computer itself is not dead, I can hear the buttons being pushed and it allows shutting off. It’s currently not turning back on despite having saved school work on it that I won’t be able to retrieve before sending it back to be returned. I am now in the position of having to scramble to buy another computer hastily so I can take an in-person exam next week. I’m not sure what is going on, but I am incredibly frustrated and have never had this issue with any other Mac computers I have owned. ... show more

I was ready to return this laptop because it seemed way too good to be true! But don't stop believing baby because this laptop came through (no rhyming pun intended). Truly, this is worth it! Plus you get Amazon's refurbished policy as a "just in case" JUST DO IT!

Shipping took a bit longer than expected and it was shipped via FedEx which made me nervous because FedEx tends to lose packages with tech contents. But, they delivered this one without requiring my signature or anything, they just put the box in front of the door. The laptop came in a big box and it was just sort of loose in there with a generic charger. I turned the laptop on and the battery was at about 70-80% charged. The laptop so far, works well. I installed all my work programs on it and everything runs well. Then the battery was running low, so I plugged it in. The computer continued to work but it stated "Battery not charging". I tried shutting it down and turning it back on...nothing. Then I tried a different USB-C cable that I have that connects to a USB outlet and it finally charged but super slowly. I checked the charger and it's 85W. The MacBook Air uses a 30W. It shouldn't really impact charging of the battery with a higher powered charger so I'm confused why it's not charging. I tried a few different outlets and it works in some outlets but not all. I wrote the seller and they said they'd forward my concern to the proper department. We shall see. I can't comment too much on battery life yet since I just finally got it fully charged but I felt that it drained pretty quickly from 70% to almost 0% but I was also installing and running a bunch of programs. From the outward appearance, the MacBook Air is in great condition. I was a bit nervous from reading some reviews where there was significant damage. This one has one little scratch on one of the sides but that's it. display, keyboard and trackpad are in excellent condition and looks like new. If we get the charger situation resolved then it was definitely a good purchase and I'd recommend it as you can save a few hundred dollars by buying a "renewed" computer. Just updating my review. I took the computer to the apple store and it was determined that the charger was not working properly. So, I purchased an apple charger. The seller has given me a partial refund for about half the coast of the charger, which is fine. The apple store also ran diagnostics on the laptop and said everything is in good shape. The media could not be loaded. Hello all, I haven’t had any issues with the camera quality or the battery life. It updates to the current Mac software when it’s available and seems to be working just great. I use my MacBook for school and work and have many classes online that require Zoom meetings. The quality of the laptop when received was acceptable. It works for me for what I need it for and the quality of the sound is great no problems there. When I received the Laptop I received it very quickly and well packaged. It came with the charger and was already fully charged when I opened it. I was a bit skeptical when I purchased this laptop because I have never done this before but I am happy I did, the seller was very helpful and guided me with all questions I had. I also read the reviews and they were all positive. Because it mentioned that it was refurbished when I was purchasing it, I only noticed one small dent on the corner of my MacBook but either than that it was in great condition. In the video posted I have a black case on it (sorry it looks dirty lol) but it’s for extra protection but if removed it is in great shape and condition. I also have a keyboard protector on it for dust and for a more cleaner feel. I hope this helps you. ... show more
