So, here's the thing. I have been buying refurbished Apple MacBook Pro's for over 20 years. Until now I have never received one with an issue on it. My thought is that if you are going to sell refurbished anything you really need to make 100% sure all possible issues/bugs are resolved before putting it up for sale, let alone shipping it out to the customer. Especially when the price tag is $2000. As a matter of fact, a final walkthrough of computer before shipping should be done. What is the issue with mine? It gets frozen screen sessions that cannot be removed except by restarting the Mac. I bought this Nov 2025 and I am still having this issue. Plus, typing is repeatedly delayed. Or a key's function doesn't work right away - and I'm left there waiting for it to do it's thing. I was very excited to get a new Mac after having my old one for over 6 years. I was looking forward to it - especially since I bought the 2024 model in 2025. This was the newest model I've been able to get since switching to Apple years ago. I was so happy to up my game that I gave my 2019 model to a good friend of mine. I don't know about anyone else, but I've never kept the computer I was replacing. I usually gift them. Unfortunately I gifted too soon. When I reported my issues, they did offer to have me ship my computer to them to fix it. That's cool. And it would take at least 2 weeks or more to get it back. Here's the problem though. My business is run on my computer and going without it for over 2 weeks was impossible for me. Their suggestion was that I buy another $2000 Mac and use that while mine was getting fixed. Well, i'm in beginning stages of biz and not making cash yet. It took me over 4 months to save enough to get this one. So that was out of the question. Shipping it to them was out of the question as well. So I didn't. And now i'm stuck with a $2000 Mac that has issues and doesn't function properly. It's not fun to have to continually restart it. Or wait for it to work. But I have no choice. I could not go more than a couple days without it. I'm older and using my phone doesn't work for me. My eyes need the view from my Mac (not my phone) to see everything. Plus, I'm kinda old school. I like doing my work on a laptop not a phone. Typing is not easy for me due to a condition I have. I don't believe in reviewing something as soon as I get it, so I wait. Since it's been almost 6 months, and since I had to yet again restart my computer this morning, I decided to give my review. Hopefully this helps anyone considering purchasing from this seller. I have learned my lesson and will never again gift my older model until after I've used the new one for at least several months. Note to seller: Always, always double check and triple check a computer before you send it out to a customer. Every single refurbished you sell should be run through all possible tests to make sure it is functional. Shipping out a bad computer to a customer is what gives you a bad name. I don't care if you offer to fix it. If it costs more than $1000 it should be gone over with a fine tooth comb. Selling and shipping a $2000 computer it doesn't work properly (hoping the customer doesn't notice, or cannot send it back) is unacceptable. The main issue with the freezing screen could have been found and fixed (before putting it up for sale) in just simply using the computer for an hour or so. ... show more
