Description

pH is the measure of acidity of water, on a scale ranging from 0 to 14. A pH of 0 is the most acidic, while a pH of 14 is the most alkaline. Water with a pH of 7.0 is considered "neutral". Different geographies have different tap water conditions with different pH levels, while fish require a specific pH level to thrive. API Proper pH 7.0 Freshwater Aquarium pH Stabilizer automatically sets and stabilizes the pH level in freshwater aquariums to 7.0 which is perfect for a mixed variety of tropical freshwater fish. API PROPER pH 7.0 Freshwater Aquarium pH Stabilizer also removes toxic compounds from tap water such as chlorine, neutralizes chloramines, detoxifies heavy metals, and adds electrolytes, making tap water safe for fish. Use this aquarium treatment when setting up a new aquarium, adjusting pH, or changing water. pH in an aquarium can fluctuate due to fish waste, uneaten food and addition of tap water. It is recommended to test water for pH weekly. With API Aquarium products, it’s easy to keep a beautiful saltwater, freshwater or reef aquarium. • First time fish owner!!!
Set up my first tank only to find out my water is super high PH and high KH. This product was easy to use, and worked rather quickly! I have to treat the water 3 times in 24 hrs and the water was a bit cloudy the third treatment. Worth the fix! Thank you for saving my fishes lives!!

  • It works!
Very concentrated. Doesn’t take much to lower Ph. Ordering a digital Ph Meter for a more accurate reading. API Master test Kit isn’t accurate enough.

  • Works well so far
I have trouble with my waters PH level at home, so this stuff is key to keeping my water healthy. I used it in a 5 Gallon to test it and it put it at 6.8 within a few minutes! One teaspoon more and it was a perfect 7. Very happy with the product, although it did cloud up my 30 gallon quite a lot. Good value for money when compared to using PH up and PH down. ... show more

  • Works great for me.
I found this product to be very helpful in maintaining my aquarium at7.0. Don't expect this to be a miracle cure that keeps your tank perfectly at7.0 forever. This is meant to be something that helps you to avoid sudden shifts in pH, maintain a relatively stable pH between tank changes, or helps to bring your pH back to 7.0 when something altered it. There really is no true way to keep an aquarium exactly at 7.0, and if the pH is changing rapidly that would be an indicator that there is something wrong with the overall water quality of the aquarium. Simply forcing the pH to remain at 7.0 doesn't mean water changes can be skipped or that overfeeding won't harm the water quality; all it really means is that the pH is within the ideal range of 7.0. I do bi-weekly water changes in my 40 gallon tank, and between changes I use this to maintain the pH at or around 7.0. My pH will drop to about 6.7 and this brings it back to 7.0, and then by the next water change it will be about 6.7 again until I change the water. This isn't meant to keep your tank at 7.0 forever, but it works great to help maintain a healthy aquarium. If you find that this doesn't dissolve in the aquarium or it leaves the water cloudy you can dissolve it in water before putting it in the tank. I don't mind the cloudiness because when used in the recommended amounts it only stays cloudy for about 15-20 min as it dissipates into the water. I really don't see any reason why this would harm your filtration media when used properly. If anything the particles would get stopped in the filtration media which reduces the cloudiness as it continues to dissipate. ... show more

  • Ruins ph balance!!
Ruins the ph balance. Cannot get it to adjust correctly no matter what I do! I have added the whole bottle and a whole bottle of PH up over the last month and cannot get the ph above 6.4 max. Guess I am going to have to drain tank and start over to get rid of this stuff!!
