Description

Shrimp Mineral GH/KE+ has especially been developed for the keeping and breeding of bee shrimp, bumblebee shrimp and tiger shrimp in an aquarium, to mineralise RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. It raises the total hardness (GH) without significantly influencing the carbonate hardness (KH). This is especially important for shrimp originating from softwater habitats (ratio of KH/GH: 0.06/1.0). Bee-Shrimp Mineral GH+ contains all the important minerals and trace elements your shrimp need for their well-being, an intensive colouration, successful breeding and healthy growth. It also furthers plant growth and regeneration of biological filter substrates. Bee Shrimp Mineral GH/KE does not influence the pH directly.

  • What Your Shrimp Need!
I recently tried SaltyShrimp for my aquarium, and it’s been a great experience. I’ve been using their products to manage water quality and enhance the health of my shrimp and fish, and the results have been impressive. The water conditioners and supplements from SaltyShrimp are top-notch. They’re specifically formulated for shrimp tanks, which is a huge plus if you're keeping sensitive species. I’ve noticed clearer water, healthier shrimp, and more vibrant colors since incorporating their products into my routine. The instructions are clear, and the solutions are easy to dose, which makes maintenance straightforward. One thing I particularly appreciate is the focus on maintaining a stable environment, which is crucial for the delicate balance in shrimp tanks. The products are a bit more specialized and pricey compared to general brands, but the quality and results justify the investment. Overall, SaltyShrimp has proven to be a reliable choice for anyone serious about maintaining a high-quality aquatic environment for their shrimp. ... show more

  • Worked well
Was extremely helpful for my tank. Helped raise my kh and gh without messing with my other water parameters too much. You get a good amount. I can’t imagine I will ever use that much. The scoop it comes with doesn’t really fit in the container easily but who cares. It has good instructions. I use it with tank water and an empty water bottle. ... show more

  • Amazing for my Shrimp tank
I have a shrimp tank, and this has helped my shrimp molt. Additionally fixed my GH/KH levels which saved my shrimp. For the value of money, this is great and longevity is good.

  • Good and effective
Works exactly like expected, use a much smaller concentration than you think you need and you will be fine. A little goes a LONG way.

  • Worked amazing!
I have been struggling to correct the GH and KH in my shrimp tank for a while and have tried to use other products in the past. I saw the reviews on this product were good and decided to try it out. The directions on the side, made it clear and easy to use, which was very helpful as I am still slightly new to shrimp keeping. After adding the product to my tank all the mineral levels have evened out perfectly, and I have no longer had any dead shrimp. ... show more

  • Salty Shrimp is the "go to" product for reminerlizing RO water with shrimp.
I read all of the reviews and discussions on other forums (fish tanks, aquariums, planted tanks, and shrimp breeders). *No one* has anything negative to say about the Salty Shrimp brand. Shrimp breeders who keep the more difficult Caridina or Bee shrimp seem to really like and rave about the very similar product called "Salty Shrimp GH+." This product, "Salty Shrimp GH/KH+," (with the KH at the end), is for the easier-to-keep shrimp like Cherry Shrimp (Neocaridina species). There aren't as many reviews for this product. The reason is because many (I think *most*) people who keep Cherry Shrimp just use regular tap water (with chlorine remover) instead of this. This product is for people who use RO (reverse osmosis, or "pure") water and want to add back the necessary minerals for their Neocaridina (Cherry) shrimp. The GH stands for "general hardness" and is referring mainly to Calcium and Magnesium. The KH stands for "Karbonate (carbonate) Hardness" and is referring to the amount of "carbonates." Different fish, shrimp, and plants prefer different amounts of each. This product will raise both GH and KH in your tank at a ratio of 2 to 1. Positives: Generally 5-stars. Everything seems to be going well so far. This product seems very "clean." If you measure your GH and KH levels after using this product, then compare that to the TDS (total dissolved solids) level, you come very close. This means that there isn't much else in the product - no other "unknown contaminants or additives." I think this is a huge plus and shows the quality of the product. Especially important when dealing with sensitive shrimp. Negatives (None of these are a big deal, but I took off 1 star total for all of these.): 1. I don't get the same hardness results as the instructions on the label. I use just over 1/2 of the recommended amount to get the proper results. Other people on other forums have said the same thing. (And yes, I realize the instructions are in "milli-equivalents per liter" instead of "parts per million per gallon.") Oh, fyi - note that the instructions are not in parts-per-million as you might have expected. 2. I don't get the same GH to KH ratio as advertised on the label. It's close, but not exactly 2 to 1 like I had hoped. This may be due to settling and separation of the different powders. It's probably impossible to keep them "perfectly" mixed. 3. Salty Shrimp does not say what the ingredients are. I *really* hate this and would normally not use a product if I don't know what's in it. I only trust it based on the brand's reputation. This is understandable (not publishing the exact ingredients) because most ingredients are extremely common and extremely inexpensive. It almost certainly contains mostly Calcium Carbonate (crushed seashells) and Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom salt). It could also contain Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda). I'd really like to know because I want to keep the sodium content low in my aquarium. ... show more

  • The SaltyShrimp GH/KH+ is the best!
I still remember the first time I tried keeping shrimp with untreated RO water. The shrimp survived, but they looked dull, molts were inconsistent, and parameters kept drifting in ways that stressed me out. Once I started using SaltyShrimp GH/KH+, the tank finally felt stable — and honestly that stability changed everything for me. The first time I mixed this into fresh RO water, I checked the TDS meter a few minutes later and everything landed exactly where I wanted it. After a few weeks of water changes using this mineral mix, my shrimp became noticeably more active, molts improved, and colors looked stronger. That consistency is what sold me on it. totally value for money. ... show more

  • Great product
This stuff works wonderfully. I was having alkalinity issues with my tank because of the distilled water and my adf is quite sensitive to it so I had to figure something out and the fish stores were complicating it too much. This balanced things out in less than 24hrs. I'm sold
