We bought two of these to replace the frosted kitchen ceiling lights we loathed. Since we bought the house a few years ago we had replaced almost all the other light fixtures but the kitchen overhead lights. My wife has always been an 'I will know it when I see it' type and she just couldn't quite seem to find anything that fit the bill. We experimented with different bulbs in attempts to at least get adequate light to work by out of what was there while her search went on but they remained an irritant. Finally I thought I could at least help with her frustration by picking up something that would be unobtrusive and throw more light while she looked for what she wanted. I settled on two of these reasoning the price was right, they have a low profile and are plain enough not to offend her decorating sensibilities. They only took a few minute each to install, literally. The Tuya app found the lights immediately and seamlessly integrated them with Alexa. The brightness is more than adequate. But the amazing thing was my wife's reaction, turns out they are exactly what she didn't know she wanted! Simple design lights that you do not notice are there until you use them. The light itself is very simple and the app is easy to use. I decided to add some removable vinyl to match my son’s room theme of Spider Man. The base mount calls for a deeper electrical box. There’s no where to hide the wires without one due to the design of the base mount.

Love this light! It’s very lightweight and install and setup was very easy. Make sure you are downloading the correct app for the light. The app is completely free and it hooked right up to my Alexa through the Tuya app as well with no problem. I can control the lights with my Alexa or through the Tuya app. Great product for the cost! This is my second ceiling led light in the house. I should of bought the other one again. I got suckered in with the bluetooth option. Thinking about it now its annoying grabbing my phone, entering the password, going into app to turn the light on. Takes too long, best to just use the remote. My two issues are this. Install is a PITA, first they fail to tell you brown wire goes to black, blue to white. I had to find this on the products question section. Then it was impossible for me to flat mount this because of the way the base has little room in the light housing for the wires and wire ties. So i put a spacer between base and ceiling, that solved that issue. But its annoying having the light hanging by the wires as you do your thing in there. Should have a connector setup or something, so light doesnt hang in your way. But worse is the light spread. Its like having a flood light in your room. Lots of shadows and dark spots in the room because there is no light coming outs from the sides. Id highly recommend getting one the has light coming out from sides as well. Im just going to have to live with this for now ... show more

    • Great lights for a hallway with switch

Bought a set of two lights to replace two old square box lights with frosted glass. The old box is 8x8 inches, so I needed something about 12" across to cover the hole. I used "Yiliaw E26 Socket Adapter 6 Pack,Medium Base Male Screw in Light Bulb Socket Pigtail" to convert to a screw-in socket. The old light used two springs to hold the frosted glass in place, so I put two cable ties on the mounting bracket, and hooked the springs to those. Normally a 12" LED light would be too bright for a hallway light, but the night time mode is just perfect for what I need. That amazing part is that I set the color temperature and brightness the way I want them with the app, and they remember even though they are turned off at the light switch. My hallway looks like I installed two light tubes - they look great! ... show more

Only the inner 5 inch or so is flush mount. Then there is 1 inch clearance above the outer diameter. Looks awkward. Did not test RGB because it required 2.4GHz connection.
